FOX Attacks!: Want to know what happens when we sing FOX’s praises?

  • Lucy Oaks · 1 year ago
I never watch Fpx News as it is not news but Republican and hate filled propaganda. It is the most disgusting News Network going. I am not surprised at anything they do and for a Democrat to praise them is ludicrous. Hillary knows better.
  • Diane Noland · 1 year ago
My first thought: That's disgusting. What is wrong with these people? Terry McAuliffe calling Fox "fair and balanced?" Good grief, McAuliffe has lost HIS balance. He's lost his mind. What utter crap!
  • John Bain · 1 year ago
So you're willing to sacrifice your principles and the principles of your party, merely to garner attention for your chosen candidate? You are no democrat sir, you are a hypocrite and a charlatan.
  • Alexandra Self · 1 year ago
After watching Rev. Wright on Bill Moyers on PBS, I once again got to see how ridiculously prejudiced, racist and anything but fair and balanced Fuax really is!!!They have tried to destroy Rev. Wright with their bogus cutting and editing of his speeches. This is indicative of the kind of crap they pull on a minuite by minute basis on Faux.If Terry Mc thinks they are the fair arbitor of news, then let him have them--they deserve each other!!!
  • Surya-Patricia Lane Hood · 1 year ago
Terry McAuliffe seems to have lost his marbles. Since when has Fox been fair or balanced, or anything remotely senseable? Mr. McAuliife needs to have his head examined; until then, keep his mouth shut.
  • Greg Nielsen · 1 year ago
To plug the fair and balanced tag line after all of the lies and misleading reporting that Fox News gives to the Democrats only legitimizes what Fox is doing in their mind.
  • William Wexler · 1 year ago
Hillary is out of the picture. She has been mathematically eliminated from winning the nomination.

I am sorry that Obama is going to appear on Faux. If he still goes through with it, he ought to go there with a speech to read and tell Chris Wallace to STFU for a change and learn something.

In what universe is FOX Fair and Balanced Terry?? They get BASIC facts wrong all the time and treat the Democratic Party as if we are enemies of the state! Take your head out of your backside please!
  • Kevin Wychopen · 1 year ago
I question whether anyone is fair and balanced. There are way too many variables in most situations to every reduce them to 10-30 second snippets of sound and color. But we live in the land of quick fixes, instant gratifications and "I wanted it yesterday"s, so why should we expect much depth? Mother Jones and some other more obscure publications do attempt to put some thought and depth into what they do. I do appreciate the efforts of Move On, BraveNew films and other to shine the light of reason and reflection on some of these issues. Cheers, Kevin W.
  • Lloyd · 1 year ago
This is very disappointing that Terry McAuliffe would refer to Fox as fair and balanced. Just another instance of Clinton and her team doing whatever it takes to hurt Obama. Her team is totally disrupting the Democratic party!! If they like Fox, they should become Republicans.
  • Vartan · 1 year ago
Well its obvious where McAuliffe thinks his next job might be. Fox borders on un-American and is helping greatly to bring our country down. McAuliffe must be ejected from any further activities with the Democratic Party – triple yuk.

Is this shameless pandering or fearful pandering?!
  • Debra · 1 year ago
What do you expect out of Terry McAuliffe? This doesn't surprise me at all...you're talking about a campaign that is sucking up to Richard Mellon-
Scaife after all he did to tear the democrats, and the Clintons specifically, apart in the 90's.
  • Earl Smith · 1 year ago
I rarely even take a peek at Fox News. But the times I have watch it, I was usually disgusted at what the presented. One can watch it for five minutes and see the mess that they produce. As for Terry McAuliffe, I think that they needs to get rid of one of the DLC talking points where a democrat must praise republicans or conservatives.
  • Deb S. · 1 year ago
Certainly sounds like he's lost his mind.

Terry McAuliffe makes me sick. He sucked at running the democratic party, and now he brown noses those d-bags over at Fox. Just another example of him cozying up to large corporate entities that definitely do NOT have the best interests of Amerians in their hearts - only greed. How appropriate that he be in charge of Hillary's campaign.
  • Phyllis · 1 year ago
I guess now that Senator Obama has seen what a "legit" station like ABC can pull off for a debate boycotting FAUX seems like an exercise in futility and anyway now he has been "vetted". This may be the only way he can reach people who watch that poor excuse for a network.
  • Jan · 1 year ago
Bizarre! Unbelievable! A "Democrat" hooting himself in the foot again...now, I'd really like to know what this guys stands for, because this is not a Democratic Party he should represent, and which I am going to vote for. Or perhaps not, now that I know who speaks in its name. I support TRUE fairness and TRUE balance, not hypocrisy and the servile bs McAuliffe apparently shares with his friends at FOX!
  • Bruce Freeman · 1 year ago
Duped again! Wow. Here's what "fair and balanced" really looks like: Wow is all I can say, because I just finished watching an interview of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright on Bill Moyer's JOURNAL on PBS this Friday, April 25th. If you have not/did not see this edition of The JOURNAL, find someone that recorded it, or try to catch a rerun this week on PBS. Or seek the full show out on the web and watch it all the way through. We -- you and me -- have been hoodwinked (again) by the sensationalism of the corporate media about this man and what he said and what and how he preached. I can now understand why Obama would not disavow this man. THIS is the man who could actually get me back to church each and every Sunday. THIS is a man of truth and intelligence and honesty. THIS is the Christian this white, unchurched "lapsed Presbyterian" has sought almost all my 61+ years that speaks and acts and lives as a Christian should. Wow.

Really sad when the Clinton will do whatever it takes to steal the nomination. It's bad enough Clinton and McCain and Fox News have triangulated to take out Obama and to add salt to the wound, by having Terry McAuliffe would appear on Fox News and call that Organization "Fair & Balanced"! This is the same network that the Administration turns to when they are in trouble. Clinton and McCain and Fox News represent the "Old Guard" of the establishment...

Fox News is trash. How can anyone believe it? Unfortunately a lot of people do and McAuliff with all his political knowhow should be fully aware that ANY positive statement in Fox's favor would be distorted and used against the Democrats to further the distorted and inaccurate reporting of Fox babble.
  • Trudy Kretschmer · 1 year ago
McCauliffe knew exactly what he was doing....he and the Clinton camp will do anything to hurt Obama. They are proving to be quite disloyal Democrats. They are a party "in between" perhaps they are the "Clinton party". Not exactly Republicans but definitely not true Democrats, I don't care HOW many poor kids she's smiled upon when she was "working" for their education etc. Plus Billy put "willie" before the country's and the Democrats interests. Like I said, they are the "Clinton party". McCauliffe is simply reflecting that.
  • alanoakley · 1 year ago
Mr. McAuliffe should be ashamed of himself to call Fox "fair and balanced". This statement could not be farther from the truth and it gives Democrats a false idea of what Fox is really up to. He has totally discredited himself and it casts another pall against Hillary as he is her campaign chair. Shame on Mc Auliffe. He should retract this statement saying he was so giddy that his woman won Pennsylvania that he didn't know what he was saying. we must never forget that Fox is one of democracy's biggest enemies

Hey, Hillary climbed in bed with Murdoch years ago. Natural that her boy McAuliffe reads from the FOX playbook. Her campaign doesn't care about getting a Democrat into the White House; it's about getting HER into the White House at all costs. She's just a different face on traditional, corrupt Washington politics.

I never allow Faux News on any of my TVs, even when I'm away. The thought of those treasonous liars on my box makes me sick. They wouldn't recognize truth, fairness or balance if they came up and bit their Pinocchio noses. I have no respect for any official or candidate who appears on this propaganda machine purporting to be a news outlet. Then again, I don't watch any news programs, with the occasional exception of BBC World News, the News Hour on PBS, or Bill Moyers. With so much conglomerate control, they all slant the coverage. Terry McAuliffe, remove thy head from thy posterior, and stay far away from Faux News.
  • karen · 1 year ago
This is why so many democrats are saying "why vote?" When people see that a candidate is willing to use republican, old school politics, including pandering to the right wing press, we are so discouraged. Shame on you Hillary for allowing this type of shameless rhetoric.

Watching Fox makes me howl with laughter. It's like watching a bunch of pre-schoolers yapping incoherently about the most mundane mis-information. I love to see them trip all over each other trying to interrupt every conversation then sit there trying to look intellectual. Best show on TV...for about 26 seconds. Then i hurl my lunch.

Don't people understand yet? The Democratic party is on its way out. Hillary Clinton has been endorsed by Richard Mellon Scaife and she uses Rush Limbaugh type psychological strategies. I deserve better and if it takes 50 years to build a third party I'm willing to start now.
  • Bill · 1 year ago
....the problem is that Hillary does NOT know better. She is so driven to fulfill what had appeared to be a given....her place as the Dem in 2008 that she will do whatever it takes to grasp it. Let's not forget the connection she had created with Rupert Murdoch last year or the fact that she is resorting to the same tactics as Faux News. If it works....do it! When will her supporters clear their heads to see that she has become what we fear most?
  • LA · 1 year ago
To take a quote from Hillary.."Shame on you, Terry McAuliffe!" The Clinton campaign will get in the gutter with ANYONE in order to win this. I don't know what is more disturbing about Fox and Mr. McAuliffe, the out and out lies or the twisting of the truth. I voted for Hillary and I rue the day. She is an embarassment to a whole generation of women who got ahead on their hard works and brains.....I wonder how Fair & Balanced Fox will be if Hillary is the nominee and Bill's flings over the past few years start crawling out of the woodwork.

Any time a democrat turns into a fox admirer is a bad moment. But McAuliffe and Senator Clinton would not, technically, fit under the rubric of "democrat" since they were part of joe lieberman's DLC and instrumental in giving that "republican lite" philosophy currency in the democratic party. The sooner we are rid of Joe, Hillary, and Terry, used the toilet paper and bidet and thoroughly washed our hands, the better. It's no surprise that murdoch was squeezed out of the bottom of the world. I just hope he doesn't clog the pipes when we flush him. Fox can say whatever it likes. In a fair world, they would be drowned out every day by the truth, and perhaps we will be able to approach that level of fairness at some point. In the meantime, trying to hush O'Reilly, Hannity, and Scarbrough would only come back to haunt us at some point. Let em squeal, we used to say with the truck loaded with oinkers on the way to the rendering plant. Let em squeal.

If anyone wants to understand how evil and dangerous fox is simply watch the PBS interview of Rev. Jeremiah Wright on Bill Moyers Journal on PBS -- it aired last night Friday the 25th. Powerful, how truth in every great institution (including the church) that was meant to serve the common humanity well in democracy is being destroyed by this kind of propoganda by Fox. One hopes that the grass roots is awake and aware to heed the warning of our times from Wright and others that our time as an empire running the world is about up. The Clintons and McAuliffe are just another sign -- what Sports Illustrated might call this weeks sign that the Apocalypse is near. With North Carolina republicans running their asassination ad on Obama (why don't we call it what it is -- it is kill time -- and all of this started on Easter holy week)... Remember how right after 9/11 the masses, the grass roots wanted to know "why does our enemy hate us so?" Here was Wright a prophet giving some context and now 7-years later as Hilary threatens to obliterate Iran (oh that is so helpful- wake up Democratic Party and put her and Bill away now)I remember the Bush regime saying, "oh just keep shopping." Well guess what? Soon with the economy the way it is we won't Hilary's regime won't be able to divert us with that mantra, so I guess the only diversion left for us is sports and war.

Why would any objective person listen to so called journalists who are blatantly tools of division and misinformation. A phony news organization designed to prop up the illegal and unconstitutional deeds of the most corrupt and destructive government in recorded history. Hitler would be jealous of such an indoctrination machine.

What's the difference between MSNBC and Fox? Fox has more viewers, and better coverage? Countdown is the best show they have to offer, and if anything, it mirrors Fox, it's just not as popular. Go cry on someone elses shoulder, Fox is a powerhouse, and the libs can't do anything about it. Here's a few quotes, words of wisdom for you lefties to ponder.

“Liberalism is so impressed with its own brilliance that results apparently don’t matter.” —Brent Bozell

“Liberals are always at their best chuckling at the ways of those they regard as hicks. That’s because liberals place far more importance on sophistication than on character, decency and values.” —Burt Prelutsky

Who cares anymore? Democrats and Republicans are one in the same and their only ambition is to make more money. McAuliffe statement is testament to that fact. Thanks to Fox my friends believe Barack is a Muslim that hates America.

Since Democrats have taken over Congress in 2006 they've done absolutely nothing and blame Republicans for it. If there was anytime in the history of America to become an ex patriot that time would be now.

I never watch Faux News. Never have. Never will. Their ugliest moments are daily beating out their last ugliest moment. I only see their non sequitur judgement on UTube clips or what someone else writes about them. Fair and unbalanced is such a hoax that they should be sued for the lie. These people are certainly not journalists, they are merely murdock's prostitues with a right-wing agenda and have blood on their hands especially in all the wrongs perpetrated by this present administration. As true as what is being said about FOX, actually is, I stopped watching them years ago. I even gave up my favorite show - 24. But, what is annoying to me is that YOU continue to bring this crap up and rubbing our noses in it. This is like friendly fire. You are preaching to the choir. I don't care about FOX and I don't want to hear about FOX - especially from friends like Robert Greenwald. You are making FOX the story. More attention to a non-issue and to a network that is not worthy of our time or discussion.

You want to make some noise about something I give a rats ass about, start a movement to suspend FOX News' broadcast license. That is a topic worth discussion. Otherwise please stop this. Everything that I have avoided watching, is right here on this very page for everyone to review - even those of us who are sick of ANYTHING FOX!!!

Sorry, can't help out, I no longer listen to that dumb channel. Perhaps its not so dumb, it merely dumbs down the fools who listen. But what do you expect of Terry M? He's been a detriment to the Democratic Party for years. Y'know, when the California primary was here, I voted for Hillary Clinton because of the repulsive sexism displayed daily by WSNBC, Fox, etc. Now however, I would have voted for Obama. In the final election, of course, I'll vote for whichever democrat becomes the nominee, but my discouragement about Clinton is the awful campaign of lies and innuendos she's running against Obama and Terry M. is one of her leading advisors. He's one of the reasons I never send money to the DNC. Even with Howard Dean at the helmn, with people like Carville, Terry M., etc. trying to run down every progressive project he wants to do, nothing progressive will ever get done. So save your money for MoveOn, the Courage Campaign, Media Matters, Brave New Films, veterans against the war, environmental groups, and don't even think of Fox News or MSNBC. They can ruin your whole day!
  • Matthew Kimball · 1 year ago
Its really sad when campaign organizers will that low just to promote their cause. McAuliffe knows that Fox is anything but objective journalism, yet he will use them to further Hillary's campaign. If Senator Clinton really cared about the American populace, she would speak out against McAuliffe's disconcerting remarks.
  • Anonymous · 1 year ago
FOX is a bunch of right-wing liars, bullies, and hit men mispresenting themselves as a news organization.

McAuliffe should be ashamed of supporting FOX in ANY way.

DLC/DNC conservative Republican Democrats like McAuliffe, Clinton, etc. should just leave the party, come out of the closet, and re-register as Republicans. It would show a shred of honor, and be a lot more honest.
  • Mary Jean · 1 year ago
Think Biff has it about right. Any sane and intelligent or well-informed person doesn't pay squt attention to Fox, and sometimes to NBC either. Bashing Hillary Clinton has become a sort of game with some of the news organizations, not exactly the way to pick a president.
  • JohnS · 1 year ago
As an American proud of a free press, I personally boycott all Fox media offerings because I'm so ashamed that a supposed news service exists to tell people what Murdoch wants them told rather than reporting on actual news. PT Barnum overestimated the intelligence of Fox "news" viewers.
  • Charles Milligan · 1 year ago
Organizing a boycott of FOX advertisers would be energy better
spent . It worked to get Micheal Savage's show defunded .
FOX viewers are old now and the retired don't buy much , so advertisers are looking at the demographics and it wouldn't take much to have FOX advertising dropped .

We all live now in the very sad era of instant revisionist history and life as a competition. Terry Mc Auliffe only cares about winning today- at any cost. Even the cost of his soul. Tomorrow he'll say it was all said in the spirit of 'competition'. He conveniently forgets how disgustingly Fox massacres the TRUTH every day. And, how about the time FOX was exposed for distributing Republican 'talking points' to its on air staff? Where's the FCC when we need them? Aren't they expected to be a watchdog? Apparently anyone can say or distort anything and character assassinate anyone they want with no consequences? Rome fell for less than this!

This prompted me to simply go straight to the Obama website and make a donation. Obama is "so liberal he's unamerican?" Because, let's see...he voted for a minimum wage? Fox tries to tell us what to think, they never--as Bill Moyers did so well last night--present the entire story and allow us to think for ourselves. There is always an editorializing aspect. Like Pravda. This is not journalism.

There are so many incidents to illustrate the lies, the Bush propaganda, the Bill O'Reilly creepiness, but my recent favorite is their total destruction of Montel Williams' last appearance when he tried to tell the truth about the War and about the fact that vets are being ignored. And CBS has now ordered him off the air. This is such an outrage. He has been a true hero, his foundations have raised millions to help the poor and victims of MS, and he has now been trashed because apparently Bush cannot abide any negative comments about any of his blatant crimes. And they might as well rename FOX as the Hillary/McCain network.

A message to the people who say to simply turn it off or ignore it:

FOX News has been enjoying it's peak success through out the Bush years making a lot of money and basically assisting in the rigging of the 2004 election, laughing all the way to the bank. Brave New Films is a relatively new source that has
finally exposed Fox for being the cheerleaders they are, but, more importantly, they showed with these films that FOX does affect public policy and it is proven time and again. You can bury your head all you want, but Fox isn't giving up.

That being said, in my humble opinion, as a direct result of Mike, DJK, jgill and many ore people's hard work. Fox's ratings are starting to plummet and other news shows are making their own money off of doing their own anti-fox segments.

For instance, Dan Abrahams recently dedicated a piece of his show to the issue even having DJK for Commentary. While people have been burying their head on this issue, the good people of Brave New Films have been making real change and working towards real solutions.

Good luck on your personal boycott of FOX news Biff.

Of course Fox called it for Hillary right away, they're desperate to see her win the primary. We have all seen the numbers and opinion polls and we all know that she can't beat McCain. Every win for Hillary is a win for McCain. She went $10 million in debt financing the PA primary, how will she be able to beat McCain while in debt? She has no interest in beating McCain whatsoever, she just wants to get nominated so she can prove she can do it and so she can run against him in 2012. It's no wonder Fox treats her with kiddie gloves while treating Obama like a pariah.

Listen, I think McAuliffe's words were despictable - no one should praise Fox News. However, let me remind you all that the NY POST - owned by Ruppert Murdoch - who owns Fox News - has endorsed Obama!

2nd point - my hometown newspaper, the Morning Call, reported that most newly registered democrats - including those who switched from the republican party specifically to alter primary results - voted for Obama -

I think both candidates - any politician - has some brushes with the devil - its all a part of the game -

It seems as though Obama supporters are against me for that. Gee - talk about unfair and unbalanced. So, what to do? I listen to the candidates - what are their solutions for the problems of our country? I listen to them at their websites (both of them) and through background news sources, such as this. I've turned off all T.V. news. Period. Journalism is out the window. No more!

Faux News is such a joke and if Clinton wants to get in bed with them she is no better than Rove. I have been so appalled at the lengths the Clinton campaign will go to to win at any cost. Terry's comment reveals the problem with the established Democrats. If the Democrats want to win they need to stop mucking around with the thugs and the crazies and praise only those who care about and are willing to do something for all of the people. Obama has ably shown his capacity to do that.

At least you're allowed a voice here...more than you can say for anyone who doesn't follow in 'lock-step' with the Bush crime family's dogma. As a citizen of America for 53 years, I love this country and when I look deep inside myself and push aside my ego and my own personal agenda and I look at our country as I would my own child and try to see what we can do to save it and to solve all of its monumenatlly big problems, I have to be true to myself and my conscience and admit that all of the hate and fear and inuendo and spin and lying and posturing and posing is just killing us and making it all worse. We can't Really solve any of our nations ills if we continue to deny the problems and take responsibility for them and make an honest attempt to put down our differences and genuinely work at real, adult, mature solutions that will help everyone ...not just a few.

While all media outlets are bias at some point Fox News is the agent of hate, fear and division and has honed those skills to a science with a level of expertise not seem since a Nazi propaganda machine used hate and fear to take over Europe. What is Fox up to? The Bush administartion right at their side. Unless we, as a people, stand together against fear and hate we will never, ever get our country back on track. All you Christians know I'm right. If you look at your churches teachings you know I'm right. Please, everyone, don't give into hate.

Oh, yeah, Obama is "unamerioan" because he approved illegal torture of detainees on the pretext that they are "enemy combatants" simply because he says so--no, wait, that was someone else. Then it must be because he has taken this nation from a healthy budget surplus to a record deficit that our great, great, great, great grandchildren will still be paying for--oops, no, someone else again. Perhaps because he has made America a byword for human rights violations and irrational agression throughout the civilized world--no, someone else did that too. Then it must surely be because he has done his best to destroy the Constitution of the United States of America in violation of his oath of office to "preserve, protect and defend" that same Constitution. Oh, I'm wrong again; that was someone else. Perhaps it's because Obama has done his best to establish "an absolute tyranny over these States." Nope, someone else.

And who is this "someone else" who keeps cropping up in every fair and balanced discussion of what is wrong with these United States? I'm sure it's a familiar name. . .wait. . .I think it's beginning to come to me. . .I'm getting a hazy picture. . .just can't quite recall the name. . .oh, yeah, it's clear now at last. . .it's Bloody Bush, the Torture President, the Terrorist in Chief, the great Enemy of Freedom. You remember hin, right? After eight years of disastrous government, devoted to destroying the rights our citizens have enjoyed for over two hundred years, the guy who has more deaths by violence of American citizens on his bloody hands than all of the 9/11 terrorists put together. Say is this guy an Al Qaeda plant? Inquiring minds want to know.

Have never noticed FOX news to be "Fair and Balanced" on anything - their goal appears to be the spread fear and intolerance:" Stating the Obama is Muslim, then that he went to a terrorist training school, the to tear him down because of what his preacher said 3 years ago taken out of context, then his serving on a board with a man associated with the Weathermen 35 years ago. Comments as repugnant as these Praises for Fox from the Clinton's Presidential Committee Chairman simply add to the list of reasons I can no longer in good conscience vote for Mrs. Clinton, whom I initially supported. It is becoming more and more evident that their policy is one of scorched earth, geared to savaging Senator Obama so that either he will lose the primary, or subsequently the general election, enabling her a second chance for the WH in 2012. The Clinton mantra seems to be "To hell with the Democratic party and the American people."

McAuliffe is a creep. When I worked at the DNC, he had some friends of mine in an editing suite all day with him to put together a presentation to go behind some speech he was giving. He berated them on a very personal level all day long, then after the whole ordeal decided that he didn't want the presentation after all. And then when he gave the speech, he talked about how much he loves to take young people under his wing and teach them. He is the epitome of what is wrong in politics today, an egotistical, disingenuous douche.

I can't comment on Fox's worst moments, because I refuse to watch their garbage. But I've seen plenty of Fox Attacks on the Internet, and I can't believe what an IDIOT McAuliffe is for singing their praises! It's pathetic in the same way that it is pathetic when bullies tease a mentally retarded kid, and the kid doesn't get it and keeps on smiling; thinking he's made some friends. And it's horrible because when the Democratic primary turned their attention toward Pennsylvania, the Clinton team became unbelievably abusive - creating a situation in which they were actually handing attack material to the GOP for future use should Obama win the Democratic primary. Clinton is playing the dirty politics as usual game, but with the nastiest twist I've ever seen - setting up a scenario which insists that she, and she alone, is the only Democrat who is fit to handle the presidency. She's not saying she's the best for the position; she's saying she's the only one for the position. And she and McAuliffe are as stupid as can be to approach things this way - because there is no way that the thousands of Republicans who would vote for Obama against McCain will vote for her. She's coming across not as tough, but as slimy. McAuliffe is just plain stupid for praising Fox. What an idiot! Obama will rise above, as usual, and hopefully will win the Democratic primary and then the general election. Why? Because you can trust him. You can't trust Clinton. At the beginning of this, I believed that although I supported Obama, I would vote in the general election for Clinton if she beat Obama in the primaries. Now I absolutely will not, under any circumstances, vote for Clinton. Between her Bosnia lies, her ties to Monsanto and WalMart and the new and unbelievable ugliness she is now willing to use to beat Obama at all costs, even if she takes the Democratic party down with her, I'll never, ever support her. This whole thing just goes to show that the people who have said it doesn't matter which party is in office, the entire government is of, by, and for the corporations, or at least the ultra-rich, is correct. The only change I see as a real possibilitiy is if we elect Barack Obama.

The venom of O'Reilly, Hannity, Coulter, et al. have no place on a major network pretending to serve the public as a journalistic news source. It is not just Fox News and their twisted commentary--I am stunned at how low the Clinton's have sunk--deliberate lies and a smugness that defies description, meeting with the very people who spent millions to discredit them during the Clinton Administration in an effort to get the endorsement of their publication, and saying it was fun, while on the other hand demeaning a pastor whose whole life has been spent trying to help people, using his words to smear Obama. I cannot stomach another liar in the White House. Hillary,s ambition belies description. McAuliffe just personifies her "win at any cost."

One needn't watch Fox to understand just how little truth (and certainly precious little objectivity) they bring to the table. Thanks to YouTube and other venues for viewing clips, coupled with a well-developed critical thinking capability (something Fox viewers clearly either never had or have chosen to leave behind in their fear of the "other"), it's possible to be quite familiar with their propaganda and scandalously right-wing slant toward the "news".

  • Mike · 1 year ago
At least Fox News isn't mandatory, like the Telescreens in 1984. I can't honestly comment on how bad it is, because I never watch it. On another topic, has anyone considered Hillary's recent "obliterate Iran" comment? Iran currently has a population of around 72 million. "Obliterating Iran" would kill most of those people (and many more "collateral" victims). This would make Hillary Clinton the single greatest mass murderer in human history. What an astonishingly brutal and stupid remark. Even George Bush wouldn't have stooped this low. Under no circumstances could I support Hillary Clinton for anything. Her ego maniacal lust for power makes McCain seem attractive by comparison. We would be much better served by a strong Democratic Congress and a weak McCain presidency. If elected, Hillary would run over a Democratic Congress like a steamroller. Only with McCain as President would Congress stand up and act like Democrats.

Terry McAuliffe praising Fox makes me wonder about Hillary Clinton's whole campaign. I have generally thought I could support either Obama or Clinton on the national ticket but lately I have been rethinking that. That she would have someone who loves Fox running her campaign really makes me doubt her.

Fair and balanced?! fox is about as fair and balanced as a fight between a grizzly bear and an infant. They CONSTANTLY and openly call liberals words like "unamerican", "pinheads", domestic terrorists", ect, then immediately turn around and call themselves fair. It is a travesty, a lie, and should be considered a crime. They are a propaganda machine no better than... wait, THEY ARE NAZI GERMANYS PROPAGANDA MACHINE! Im liberal, does that make me a terrorist or unamerican?, according to fox it does. This channel should be stripped of its license immediately. And furthermore, we need to start by jailing, Mr. Oreilly, who in my eyes is a terrorists to the freedoms of america, looking to force his neo-christian hardcore conservative beliefs onto the masses by portraying himself as a newscaster while speaking 100% negatively towards any and all liberals as if they were evil or stupid. This man is a sinner, a propaganda spreader, a fascist, and i hope he suffers a quick demise at the hands of the authorities. This year will be the year of the democrats, we will come together, and we will get this crumbling and frankly disgusting version of what the U.S.A has become back together. Free healthcare, greener world, jobs back to america, taxation of the rich and better and cheaper education for the poor. Its gonna be great and yes fox is against all these things. That is because fox is for the rich man, the republican view is "why should i pay for that persons ____? it is an ungodly, greedy and selfish view, all while hiding behind a vail of religion they dont acually follow.

In 2002 O'Reilly was interviewing a young man whose father had died at the Twin Towers on 9/11. O'Reilly viciously attacked him verbally with insults, abuse and calling him names for not wanting to kill all Muslims, I guess, since the hijackers had perished in the 9/11 attacks. I had never watched 0'Reilly or FUX before or since except for when I pass over them why surfing the web. What O'Reilly did was thoroughly disgusting and of course no apology was ever offered. 0'Reilly had accused the interviewee of being a terrorist himself for all intents and purposes which hindered his employment prospects. Jeremy Glick I see was his name as I just looked at the comments and someone else knew the name. I'll post anyway.

remember, clinton has taken thousands of dollars from fox news corp and its owners and managers. look at the media contributions on any watchdog sight and see rupert murdoch giving her lots of $$.

This was on Huffpo on july 16 2007:
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2007/07/16/hillar...

"On June 5, Rupert Murdoch, chairman of the News Corporation, gave her presidential bid $2,300. A few weeks later, his son, James R. Murdoch, chief executive of British Sky Broadcasting in London, gave $3,400. Altogether, NewsCorp/Fox executives gave at least $40,000 to the Clinton campaign.

In July 2006, the elder Murdoch hosted a fundraiser for Clinton's Senate re-election campaign, raising many eyebrows among Democrats. The Financial Times, which first disclosed the event, noted that Murdoch was a part of the "vast right wing conspiracy" named by Hillary Clinton as determined to destroy her husband's presidency.

She explained her willingness then to accept Murdoch's support to the FT: "He's my constituent and I'm very gratified that he thinks I'm doing a good job."

Asked about the Murdoch contributions to Clinton's presidential bid, Howard Wolfson, director of communications, said he had no comment..."

Rupert Murdoch is supporting HIlary Clinton. Hilary Clinton has threatened Iran with total obliteration. It seems she would be more likely to take us to war with Iran than John McCain. And democrats are embracing her? Please, we need Barack Obama, and the movement and the message. We need a politician without an big ego. The only presidential candidate I've ever seen without a ridiculous ego is Barack Obama.

    Thanks Terry.

Once a person who was ahead of the Democratic party now going to bed with Fixed News just to get her candidate elected. Bill and Hillary have been playing the race card been lieing and using a Karl Rove like tactics to get her nominated. Obviously it is all about Hillary and what she is willing to do to get the nomination. What does this tell us about the kind of President she will be. Can we really trust her now after this? Hillary only cares about herself and is going to bed with the republicans by allowing Limbaugh's operation chaos to help her. And she will not condem the 501 add in North Carolina that McCain has. Hillary and Terry. Remember Benedict Arnold? Thanks for dividing the Democtratic party and adding another Bush term with High Gas and food prices, more dead and wonded young ment and women, higher unemployement, diminshing middle class, increase homeless, less students getting education, and more Billions to the CEO's and oil Companies. Oh and thank you for the further racial divide. Good JOb. One thing we do know wjile we are struggling Bill and Hillary and John McCain, George Bush, Bog Dick Cheney and all will be relaxing enjoying their hundreds of millions of dollars while we are suffering working two or ore jobs and losing our homes.

Terry, you've got to be kidding! Get some reality testing!

Here's a better kind of balance to which you can aspire: not to get caught up in the passion of temporary victory but to appreciate the relationship between the moment and the context in which it resides. The sweet taste of victory is not everything: how a leader functions to help the U.S. regain its prestige and moral center as we move forward into the the 21st century is.

I have no idea what McAuliffe was thinking when he "praised" Fox news for being first to call Pennsylvania for Clinton. Anyone with the most rudimentary internet skills can discover for themselves that Fox viewers are the most UNinformed about what is really happening in the world. A commenter below says it best. Turn off the TV.
  • Harley Meyer · 1 year ago
This I find very interesting is several ways that Terry McAuliffe, the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, is crawling in bed with FOX. It is interesting because now this indicates that he is a corporate democrate. Democrats need to distinguish themselves from a corporate democrat. We can not forget Hillary took money from Rupert Murdock. The other piece of information that is extremely revealing is the ad that was run in the Pennsylvania Primary that had Osama Ben Ladon. It is interesting that every single image that was shown in that ad was also known as a "false flag operation". However, what was brought to light is that polio possibly may have been a false flag operation as well due to its association with the other images.

How sad. Hillary has sold out to "them" and she is now under their control. How sad. Not such a tough leader after all. So sad!

    Sincerely,

OK, people, here is the direct quote of what Hillary actually said about attacking Iran...

"I want the Iranians to know that if I'm the president, we will attack Iran (if it attacks Israel)," Clinton said in an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America."

"In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them," she said.

"That's a terrible thing to say but those people who run Iran need to understand that because that perhaps will deter them from doing something that would be reckless, foolish and tragic," Clinton said.

I admit this is pandering to a McCain audience and a ploy to snatch votes away from him, but let US be 'fair and balanced' here and not employ the same disingenuous tactics that fox news does. I would NOT want to see the entire country of Iran obliterated either, but neither would I wish that Iran obliterates Israel. If diplomacy cannot keep us all from blowing each other to smithereens as we learned from the Chamberlain debacle, what tactic(s) are necessary to be deployed as a deterent? Let's debate that issue and come up with a civilized solution. I do not agree with Hillary's statement as a resolution in this issue as it has a blatant disregard for human life. But she does have a point...knowing that we are capable of such an act should be a deterrent for Iran. I have always wondered if the U.S. had dropped the first atomic bomb somewhere close to Hiroshima that would have resulted in a MINIMUM of collateral damage (God how I abhore that term) what the outcome would have been. It is obvious to me that American hegemony was the mission of that administration when it obliterated 2 major cities full of innocent people. I can't believe that as a woman and a mother, Hillary's objectives would be the same as those of her democratic (and Republican) predecessors....However, I am not a Barack supporter, and I see this blog as an anti-Hillary/pro-Obama force. Smearing Hillary to elect Obama...same tactics as fox, eh.....?

This is just another sign of the "win at all costs - Rove was right" tactics of the hill-billy campaign. Hill sucks up to Scaif after what he did to bill (& our country), MCSame sucks up to falwell/robertson/rove after what they did to him, his wife & daughter. some folks see grabing power & control as an independent end in itself. hill & mcsame are two examples. the msm is doing everything they can to manufacture the consent that "obama's not 'up-to-it".
Question: will voters let the msm make up thier minds?
can you pronounce 'mcsame'? better practice.

Seriously, people, this country is screwed until you all realize this whole republican/democrat thing is a puppet show, and you start looking BEHIND the puppets! It seems that after doing this for so long, you would have to accidentally stumble into the truth at some point! Everyone needs to stop looking at the puppets like little babies do. Wake up and realize that America has been completely sold out, by the republicans AND the deomocrats!

One of the many bad things that Fox consistently does (how can you pick a worst from so many bad things) is mislabeling Republicans as Democrats anytime a scandal breaks out - see Tom Foley, Arlen Spector, even John McCain when he was less popular... Fox News is about as fair or balanced as Pravda under the Soviet Union. How can you even agree to appear on their programs, much less endorse them?

After Obama finishes his second term and a renewed America moves into a truly democratic era you'll fade into history as a footnote remembered only as a remnant of how, in the early part of the 21 century, America lost it's soul and you stood on the wrong side.

What do you takes us for; it's all about making more and more money and bloody little about keeping the public fairly informed.

Unfortunately, I have gone over to the dark side, during this election cycle. Fox hates all liberals, so their coverage of this election has been less biased than MSNBC or CNN, which are mouthpieces for the Obama campaign. I do not agree with all of Fox news reports, but at least, they slam both presidential candidates equally. Fox is all about getting a Republican elected, they are not partial to Hillary. Have you ever listened to Morris? He is about as bad it gets, when slamming Clinton. So no, I don't believe they give preferential treatment to one candidate over the other one.

    Get off your high horse.

What is really harmful to the interests of Democracy is when half of the Democratic Party and their interests are totally ignored. Many Clinton supporters have been driven to Fox and other conservative news sourses because of the totally unfair and unbalanced coverage of our TWO Democratic candidates by outfits like MSNBC and CNN. The progressive blogs have become women hating thuggish places. TMP,Dkos, and Huffpo are nothing more than propaganda sites for Obama. Where is your outrage when Keith Olberman says some guy should take Hillary into to a room and come out with out her? Why isn't Brave New films doing peices of the blatent misogyny rampet in both the MSM and on the internet. Why are you not setting the historical record straight when lies are repeated over and over about the Clinton's records. My eyes have really been opened by this race and I think I can speak for many other women who are wondering if they even want to be part of the Democrat Party. I am a lifelong Democrat and a local activist and a monthly contributor to Brave New films and I am so angry at the treatment of my candidate and her supporters I am reevaluating my association with many progressive causes that I have worked for and contributed to over the years .

Terry, I am fine with you being a Clinton supporter, though I support Obama. But your credibility just dropped several notches when you (1) praised Fox for anything with a microphone in front of your face and (2) used the term "fair and balanced" in the same soundbite utterance. It is high time for leaders such as yourself to step back and question the divisive, undemocratic ways of the right wing media's mouthpiece, Fox News. All leaders need to be held accountable when they speak words other than the truth.

Which were the ugliest Fox moments? Any and all of them. They sickened me to the point I haven't been able to stand them for one second -- much like the sight of Bush or the sound of his voice causes a physical reaction that is beyond being merely unpleasant; it gives me the heebie jeebies -- as do Rush Limbaugh and Fox "news" --they even make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, a sure sign of being in the presence of true evil in my experience. Even if I could get past the sight and sound of these minions, and I am only talking hypothetically here because that will never happen, I wouldn't be able to stomach that psychic vomit they spew forth exposing their enormously disturbing mental imbalances for all to see. The crew at Fox are lackeys of those who worship together at the altar of insatiable greed like Murdoch. If Clinton is willing to sell her soul to get elected to office --an alliance with Murdoch so strongly suggests a done deal on ones soul as to be proof positive -- that tells us all we need to know about Ms. Clinton, doesn't it? I think it's apparent that anyone elected to the office of President with their soul still intact will be shot down despite all the security that surrounds one in that position. Funny how there is security that works for the Nixons and Bushes utterly miserably fails the Kennedy's, now isn't it?
I vote for Anarchy -- there's no way that things could be worse with no government than it proves to be with government, could it? If nothing else we could start over once rid of the status quo in the current government correcting the mistakes made by the forefathers. Like adding those two words that opened the gates for this flood of the criminals we see running the country -- "without representation" following "no taxation" has let this happen to America. No Taxation -- period -- and making that ironclad would just about take care of those holes these worms crawled through to steal the office of president -- twice -- and get away with it. No electoral college BS -- each vote counted means every vote counts. Ballots on paper counted by people not electronic machinery. Every issue voted on by everyone. If you served your sentence you have paid your debt to society and you will be allowed to rejoin society and yes your vote is your vote. Hell, even in prison you should be able to vote -- why not? Everyone must have an equal say in what's purchased and who is in charge. Put back the ban on any one person being able to purchase the media -- ever. There are some laws that must be carved in stone that nobody can change and those are the basic ones I see as being needed today, tomorrow, and always: Corruption can be prevented. What kind of door is opened with elected representatives? Prostitutes who sell out their constituencies to the highest corporate bidder, obviously. We are all capable of getting to the polls -- or better yet, mail in ballots. We do not need representatives screwing us over. We do not need Senators. We do not need Congress. The people ALL vote and ALL the votes are counted and the majority wins -- even if it's by one vote. End of story on corruption arising out of representation. Taxation abolished allows us to control our own money and our own world. If the people in Phoenix want a road they all pitch in their money or their labor toward getting it built. And how much do you want to bet that we'd get it built for a Hell of a lot less than one million or one billion a MILE? How many $50,000 toilets would we buy? How many $75 screws? How many trillions would we spend to kill people to steal their oil? We, the people, would abolish war forever because we don't want war -- we want peace and contrary to popular propaganda peace is not just the downtime between wars and guess what else??? Freedom IS free! DUH -- thus the "free" in freedom. Mass murder is never justified; mass murder is unjustifiable. Period. Defense against an attack that was not staged by a maggot named George W. Bush & his minions is warranted and justifiable -- a real attack -- not connived and contrived BS about WMDs, but the real thing is the ONLY justification for taking up arms. Well, unless it would be for taking back our country, to fight the nazis who seized power 7 years ago, or something like terrorists commandeering the White House inciting fear over terrorists from other countries. We've got the worst terrorists in the world right here -- there's no need for us to go anywhere else to fight terrorism.

I wrote to Howard Dean and the Democratic Party incompetents questioning why the party has not filed suit for illegal political contributions by Fox. The contributions coming through blatant and biased broadcasts supported by advertising revenue. The effects of their completely biased "news" programming is the brainwashing of the entire nation with lies and manufactured "issues" relevant only to the minds of the paid "talking heads".
The Republican Party has received continuous huge monetary support through Fox broadcasts fully supporting every policy and platform of the Republican Party. This is clearly in violation of election laws and should be prosecuted. If the Democratic Party continues to fail to stand on its collective hind legs to support the Constitution and Democratic values, they deserve to lose again. Filing suit against the Fox Network and its owner as an agent of the Republican Party would cut off the greatest propaganda source currently being funded by the worldwide neo-con conspiracy.

Nadar may be right. It might be time for the Dem.Party to hang it. We then can start to build a serious [real] opposition party in this country. The idea, that in the 21st century a political party can claim to be a legitmate "major" player [or party] without having at its disposal, the basic communication tools needed to compete, is absolutly ludicrous. To date, there is only one political party [the GOP] that has and has had [for nearly a generation now] it's own TV network [ it's called Fox ]. Equally as damaging, is the fact that Fox has set the tone for political [and even cultural] discourse. There is only Fox [which is Republican TV] and the other networks that are really Fox lite [or Republican lite] TV news networks. On CBS, who was the first guest that Kattie C [their then new anchor] chose to have on her new interview format? None other than Rush fatso. Like it or not, in this day and age, TV is the main medium of communication. This is where most people get most of their information from. It's the information equivalent of fast food. Between runing around holding 1 and a half jobs, picking up the kids from daycare, and preparing dinner, you have about 15 minutes a day to get some news [and not every day]. You quickly turn on TV for your daily dose of quick information. That's our modern world. And right now there is only one point of view and one variety of spin being presented on the media that most people get their information from. Without access to the basic informational institution of the age, no political party can claim to be a major party. There is only one major party in this country, the Republicans. They get to set the debate through their direct access to mass media. All other parties, including the Democrats are 3rd parties. Therefore, the arguemnt that we must stay with the Democrats because 3rd parties are never successful is bogus. The Democrats are a third pary! And they will remain such, until they assess the situation correctly and follow up with the necessary actions. If that means skiping a few election cycles and directing the saved resources towards aquiring their own network [to have the tools that a real major party needs to compete], so be it. In the long run they will come out ahead. And if the Democrats don't see this basic truth, then there is an opening for another 3rd party to direct it's resources properly and seize the moment.

Whatever one may think of ANY of the candidates or any of those who ever have worked for any one of them, or are working for them right now, one thing is for certain and beyond the shadow of any doubt:

Fox Channel is an exceptionally biased channel that is engaged more in what one could call a set of pre-meditated sequential multi-level and multi-dimensional exercises in deception than in any real reporting of any news.

And because it is so biased while constantly also claiming to be "fair and balanced" and all the other nonsense self-promoting propaganda about themselves which they also put out incessantly ....such as about "we report, you decide, or Mr. O Reilly's "no spin zones" (which ought to be called "nothing but spin zones") and whatever else they can concoct or improvise. they are also very dangerous.

I cannot provide specific examples beyond the many other ones that I am certain many others contributing here already have provided regarding precisely when they have been particularly egregiously biased or have misrepresented the facts grotesquely (or have simply selected irrelevant facts for reporting instead of relevant and important ones) there are just too many to recall and I have stopped counting the instances a long time ago.

Moreover it is not only a matter of just summing up specific instances of their bias or their mis-representation, or deceptions, the processes which they use are more sophisticated than just a set of discrete incidents. They also have managed to create successfully an atmosphere and culture and general process of overall deception within which they can then more easily inscribe more specific misrepresentations.

And they are dangerous and insidious not only because of the content which they present and the content that they don't present but also at various levels of process. (such as trying to accentuate the value of certain personalities whom they interview whom they favor or think support their cause and discredit or outright humiliate others who they consider to be their political opponents. And whenever they start to fail at this then the outright bullying -sometimes also extremely rude and vicious- starts to comes out; (just watch that "nice guy" O'Reilly carefully whenever he gets into a tight spot)

I do however watch the channel whenever I can (though of course I also watch many other channels and read the mainstream media as well as the internet media) and mainly for the following reasons: i) I am interested in how modern propaganda systems actually work beyond the rather early ones set up by Goebbels, Pravda and etc. which I also happen think pale by comparison in terms of relative sophistication and insidiousness and tactics. (another thing which is also quite certain is that the Foxy Foxers are very good at what they do and one has to give them a kind of "technical" credit for that. i.e. they have fine tuned their art of misrepresentation, deception, false focus and etc etc.... and have brought it to a whole new level; and secondly , ii) because I am interested in trying to gauge where U.S. public opinion may end up heading, and some of the reasons why. (I am an American but I do not live in the U.S.)

And thirdly I guess I also watch it as a form both of "vaccination" and entertainment.

There have been many times when I found myself breaking out laughing during particular segments. Although I do realize that regrettably that channel is no laughing matter because I am sure it is quite successful at misleading a significant number of people, and it only takes being able to mislead a small percentage to affect the outcome of elections. (which of course they realize perfectly well and is all part of their "name of the game") That is, they know they DO NOT need to convince people like me (it would be impossible anyway even under torture and sedation) or any of the other folks who see right through them, all they have to do is just convince a very small percentage of the population and they've already accomplished their objective.

I would like also to thank here Robert Greenwald and all the other folks at Brave New Films for the very important job they are doing. Those Foxy turkeys (and I always did like thanksgiving dinners!) are pretty well financed as you well know and are working overtime to further hone their skills and will also do absolutely everything in their power to discredit anyone who tries to expose them for what they are. (i.e. a menace to the future of our beloved country, the United States of America)

    best regards,

    Max Johnson

Terry McAuliffe oversaw a DNC, a Democratic party, and political campaigns so insipid and cowardly that Americans who didn't much like George W still could not bring themselves to vote Democratic. His vanity and sense of entitlment blind him, it would seem, to intelligence, good strategy and good judgment. It is inexplicable to me that he should appear, anywhere, as a Democratic spokesperson, after the depths to which he sunk the party, from its once-majority among voters to what became a long minority-status. I know, he thinks he's party of the Clinton economic miracle, the great triangulation and third way. But that came about because Bill thought he was Elvis, which was fun for the media; because Bill recruited some people who, whatever you think of them, knew how to do their jobs (Robert Reich and Janet Reno being two who come to mind.) But the DLC-run party in McAuliffe's era was abhorrent. It oversaw the media consolidation that now has us in a GOP Soviet-style propaganda clutch, led by FOX.
That this Ken-doll pundit could go on FOX and CONGRATULATE them for being the first to call Hillary's win - after FOX'S DOING SO IN 2000 FOR BUSH, REVERSING THE CALL FOR GORE, WAS THE TRAGIC BEGINNING OF THAT FRAUDULENT SELECTION AND THE SUBSQUENT WAR AND ELECTION FRAUD THAT HAS ALLOWED THE GOP TO SECURE ITS DEATH-GRIP ON THE BODY POLITIC -- is jaw-dropping. It's so hard to explain that I wonder if he's been a double agent all along, and is simply revealing liar's truths with Freudian slips. Fox calling wins for Hillary hardly increases her appeal to Democrats! I was so happy when HOward Dean succeeded McAuliffe as DNC Chair. I cannot believe I have to look this idiot in the face again. Any Democrat who relies on his judgment is in for a downward ride in the end.

I supported Bill Clinton-and took plenty of abuse for it-during the long 1990's impeachment charade conducted by the Republicans. As most readers surely know by now, the notoriously glorious blowjobs Clinton received from Monica and his subsequent lying about them merely added fuel to existing trumped charges. In short, while governor of Arkansas Bill had screwed around with an ugly-nosed girl named Paula and lied about it; also, he and his slick spouse Hillary had supposedly been involved in shady but altogether petty real estate transactions in Arkansas. One or more innocent people were tainted by the goings on and went to prison as a result. Another ill and pitiful and negligibly culpable former good friend of Bill and Hillary was thrown under the bus by the Clintons.
A Special Prosector was named by the Republicans to investigate. The guy they appointed couldn't make traction with the allegations so he was shunted aside in favor of--drum roll please--a sexually prurient and dishonest scholar and manhunter named Kenneth Starr. Starr was relentless in his pursuit of righteousness and truth, even to the point of inquiring about the size and shape of Clenton's penis. Hence the term 'Clenis' found it's way into usage.
At the time my former neighbor in Georgia, Rep. Bob Barr, was a member of the House Judiciary Committee and a vociferous enemy of Prez. Clinton. Bob was an affable man in person but as a failed former federal prosecutor he felt he could redeem himself by becoming a member of the House of Represntatives. He was, of course, elected and reveled in his hatred if Clinton. As a republican congressman Barr was a frequent participant on the fair and balanced talk/ fantasy TV program of Geraldo Rivera. Night after night Rivera paraded such fair and balanced guests as Rep.Sensenbrenner, Ann Coulter, Kelly Ann Fitzpatrick and Barbara Olsen and another attorney couple of Clinton-despising fame.
You know the rest of the story. Clinton was impeached but the process failed, he finished his term of office and was idolized by many Democrats including myself. Hillary became went on to become a U. S.Senator from New York and now runs for the Democratic presidental nomination ions. Her opponent in the race is a heavily maligned but bright and capable and articulate young Senator from Illinois named Barack Obama. Obama will most likely become the Democratic standard bearer and go on to win the election. His presumptive opponent will be a former Vietnam War POW who some think deserves the Presidency based on what he endured as a prisoner...' But alas, McCain is already aging rapidly, is veracity challenged, appears to be only slightly more intelligent and capable than that Great American Disaster GWB. He is also a warmonger and envisions another 95 years of conflict in Iraq. He is also palsy with some particularly loathsome Xtian fundamentalist theocrats whose stated goals are to supplant the United States Constitution with the cruelty, bigotry and mores of the Xtian Bible.
However, should the democratic nomination default to Hillary through her ego, dishonesty and alliances with Republican Corporate thugs I won't vote for her either.
    Bob Barr anyone?

I remember a few years ago (the 2004 election?), McAuliffe appeared on "Fox news Sunday" with his RNC counterpart for a debate.

The next week, they read a Viewer Email from someone that noticed McAuliffe "peeking" at his opponents notes. They played the video from the week before in slow-motion where it was clear what he was doing. The entire FNS panel got a good chuckle out of a wanker he was (and apparently still is).

When Republicans "go wrong," Fox seems to have a habit of labeling them Democratics (i.e. Craig, Vetter, the pedophile from FL) on the screen below their pictures. Anytime we/Democratics say Fox is "fair and balanced," we're saying, by extension, O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Ann and the rest of the stable, are "fair and balanced."

Yeah, everyone should be medicated, rather than think too much, right?
In what way are Obama and Hillary trying to save this country, hmmm?
They have voted in support of the war WITHOUT FAIL, every single time.
They both vote for spying on Americans.
How are they going to save America? With dumbed down slogans like "change?"
The people voted for democrats to take over congress. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING has changed since then.

I didn't know Terry was a disgace to the Democratic Party. It's funny, when he was the Chair of Democratic Party and defending John Kerry on Meet The Press and others, he wasn't a disgrace. I guess he earned it by choosing a candidate of his choice and not carrying Obama's camp water.

Mark these words... No matter who wins the Democratic Party's nomination, Fox will wind up being the mouthpiece for the Republicans, and if Hillary Clinton winds up being nominated, Fox will quite happily turn on her in the general election. Terry McAuliffe will rue the day he ever saw fit to praise "Faux News".

I think they are being pushed into commenting on Fox because MSNBC especially, and some others to some degree, have become so biased and ant-Hillary I can't even bear to watch them anymore - just like I couldn't bear to watch Fox before because they are such right wing extremists. MSNBC especially is pushing mainline democrats away they have become so enamored of Barack Obama. I am not against him, but I am also not against Hillary. MSNBC is simply going way to far. I have had to stop watching Countdown since Keith went so faaaaaaarrrrrr over the edge of the cliff.

I completely agree with Marlon's comment. I used to watch Keith and Countdown until it became Obama's headquarters. I used to listen to Stephanie Miller on Air America until they started to go overboard and continually demonize Hillary and President Bill Clinton. For what? Plus listening to Terry speak on Fox I do not hear denounce or mention Obama. All he said was Fox got it right on the primary results. So he used their slogan "fair and balanced". Big deal! I guess some people think McAuliffe is so important that his words will be played over and over again. Crazy!

Fox is owned by the Right wings, so they are going to day and do whatever they can to elect their party. Hannity, and Oreilly are the worst.
Hannity keeps on and on about Rev Wright, you can clearly see he is the one that hates america, he is the one who is trying to devide this country, not the dems. And Oreilly is way out of touch! This nework is the worst one on tv, too bad we could'nt fire them... Fox is not fair and balanced as they claim they are. Please everyone, do not listen to the media, think for yourselves, do not let them sway your mind. We need change in this country, and we should not let the media dictate to us as to who we should vote for. This is our america not Hannitys america,or any other media's. The media is out for ratings thats it, they do not care who they hurt to get these ratings! "Wake up america" this our election, not fox, cnn,or msnbc, abc,cbs.nbc. I don't have much respect for FoxNews and their "fair and balanced" slogan is quite Orwellian. But on the other hand I wouldn't demonize McAuliffe. Its hard to get "fair and balanced " news anywhere these days and McAullife know that Fox news is the last place to find out anything. It makes we wonder about all the nasty things that have been said about her. Maybe they are true.
  • Sandy L. Royster · 1 year ago
The Hillary campaign has been pandering to Fox News for some time. First It was Hillary teaming up with Fox News to smear Obama. Then it was Governor Rendell telling Fox News that they were providing balance reporting of the Pa primary race. You know. that same Rendell that has praised the Hornorable Farrankhan in the past while the Clinton campaign try to link Obama to Farrakhan in a negative way by association because of his former pastor friendship with Minister Farrankhan. Now it appered that McAuliffe has taken his turn at pandering to Fox News in hope that they will again manufacture something that will play to the fears of middle class white Americans and create doubt as to why they should not transcending race to vote for a Black Man. If you can't win pretty and fair, do what the Clintons do best, win ugly and dirty. Who on Hillary team will be next to pander to Fox News. I can see and hear someone at Fox News interviewing Bill, and Bill playing the race card again by saying, well you know the reason Obama is a head is because "his campaign played the Race Card on me in South Carolina". Give me a break. Hillary you can't win, get over it so we can come together and call McCain on all those lies he is telling the American people on the campaign trail. Strait talk no, double talk yes.

Terry McAuliffe is a DLC guy and that means Republican as in Neo Liberal. When he was the party head in 2000 the grass roots folks who were doing the heavy lifting trying to establish a true ground game were shut out of convention events. Why? Because Terry was using them to raise money from big corporations and they didn't want any real people showing up asking questions. They gave but gave the Bush more. We didn't even have a local presence here in my town until Dean started a 50 state strategy.

    These are not choices, people.
The whole system is completely rigged; continue to ignore this fact at your own peril.
Ron Paul was the last real chance we had, but the people were all watching TV and proclaiming themselves "democrats," instead of thinking about what's right for the country, and actually paying attention to PLANS for change, instead of hollow slogans.
Now we are trying to pick through the lesser of evils, and unfortunately, they are all almost exactly the same.
You think Obama is going to stop this war?
    Pahleeeaase!
His advisor is a bigger war monger than McCain!
The war-profiting powers that be, via the mainstream media, pushed all of the anti-war candidates out of public view.
So, as a rule, if you see their mugs on TV, and they are recognized as a real contender, they are guaranteed not to rock the boat.

Fox constantly slanders and lies about Democrats, particularly left-wing Democrats. When McAuliffe was the DNC chair, the Democrats lost seats in the Congress and several of the governerships. I just happened to be watching that night, so I'm not shooting from the hip. FOX's accolaids were EFFUSIVE. All week, I watched all networks rend Clinton short shrift, right down to CNN. In fact Dobbs took a pole to see if we thought coverage was slanted against her, and I forget the exact stat, but over 70% of us think ALL networks have been stacking it against her. I was doing a talk show in Illinois when it was the pivotal state to pass ERA and the state tossed women in exchange for a vote in Chicago's "machine" affecting black politics. Trust history. America would rather have a black man or any man president, rather than a woman. I was dumbfounded when I saw FOX absolutely fawning over Hillary. I'm glad. I thank 'em! But. Democratic leadership should not have compromised its position because of one good report. I expect more from leadership.

It is good to work to create unity in this country of huge divide. Good because: United we stand, divided we fall (and that includes Democrats and Progressives who divide the Democratic party no matter who the candidate is --heaven help us should More-of-the-Same McCain gets elected.) That said, McAuliffe (and others) would be far wiser in their attempts at unity to not go into the lion's den, but instead work with those amenable to unity. No matter how we work to unite or align for the common good of the USA, FOX followers will rarely have their minds changed because they don't have thinking and reasoning skills. They like taking sides, and like what McAuliffe said -- they will use whatever bog fodder they can. I watched a broadcast on CNN one evening, I think it was about someone in the Democratic arena. As I left CNN and was rushing past Fox channel, which I too never watch, I noticed Fox was speaking to this same subject so I stopped and watched to see how they reported it. Why did it not surprise me that instead of the complete story, they chopped off the end making the Democrat look like a horror story instead of the good guy he was! It is quite frightening that Rupert Murdoch owns media that reaches 3/4 of the WORLD's population. How does one stop that run-away train? Certainly by not dividing the only party that can stand up even slightly against him/them. When lies are not popular, when liars become the outcasts, only then it will stop. The liars may call themselves "Christian" but they certainly are not Christ-like. It is good to know that one doesn't have to be a Christian to honor what Jesus taught, and these liars are the anti-Christs themselves.

Fox of recent has been the only network to actually tell the truth about Hillary having any chance at all of a win in this race. MSNBC has been so biased toward support of Obama I can't even watch it anymore.

I only had to watch what the False News Network called news once to see whet they were about. If Joseph Goebbels had something the False News Network at his disposal, we wouldn't be speaking English today, as most of our ancestors would have been marched off to the ovens. Your support of this propaganda machine is patently disgraceful and although it is only figurative, you should wash off that brown stain from around your nose.

I think Hillary should have been drummed out of the Democratic Party when she said that she and McCain were experienced enough to be president but Obama had only his speeches. She has taken money from republicans - one was a fund raiser by Republican Rupert Murdock. McAuliffe is only one of her mouthpieces. His praise for Fox despite their denigratioan of her matches McCains bootliking Bush and his minions after they insulted him by saying he fathered a black baby, etc.

The truth is out there. I cannot watch Fox news because it makes me so angry when they tell blatant lies. This administration and the Republican hate party that have supported the illegal occupation of Iraq and Afganistan. Killing thousands of people in their shock and awe strategies have sickened me. Why can't the national media tell the truth? Why isn't the war on television like when we saw what was happening in Vietnam. That is what made the people rise up to stop it. What are they afraid of? Don't they realize the people are smarter than that. When Terry from the Democratic party doesn't stand up to this lying machine, what side is he really on? When Hillary says she would attack Iran, and support the military industrial complex, who's side is she really on?
When Obama wins, it will suprise the media, that he will still show a loving compassion to their blundering. The media in Hitlers time had to do the same thing with not telling the truth, because they were afraid of being arrested and being sent to the camps. Still, I don't know why Fox, NBC, ABC and CBS are so afraid. Is it really the almighty dollar being more important than life and love.

Terry McAulife is beyond belief. Just b/c they called it first in PA he praises them. Fox's ugliest moment was calling Barack Obama (a presidential candidate) a "Halfrican." Despicable. To paraphrase a quote from Emerson, what FoxNews is thunders do loudly they can't possibly make anything anyone says to the contrary heard. The question is, why do you want to silence someone who proves every day the continuing existence of the CIA program known as Operation MOCKINGBIRD (look it up on my website). If they are the propaganda tool of the corporate government that rules the U.S. since the military industrial complex coup d'etat of the late forties and early fifties (which President Eisenhower warned of and President Kennedy dies opposing), why not simply strive to make that evident to the public - instead of the empty vituperation I see here? I always hate to see my side of an issue shoot itself in the damned foot. Come on, folks, grow up - this isn't a fight for name-callers and the kind of intellect who does so.

When you don't like the message, kill the messenger, huh? You folks are off-base, once again.... I bounce around, depending on commercials, from CNN, FOX and MSNBC and, if you ask me, FOX IS far more fair and balanced than the other two. Everyone in MSNBC is IN THE BAG for Obama...if FOX treated McCain the way MSNBC treats Obama, THEN you'd have a story. Jack McCafferty might as well have an Obama campaign pin stapled to his lapel and CNN's "most distinguished political panel" always has someone from Air America and two other democrat surrogates.

Rather than throw stones at FOX, you might consider advocating a REAL issue...or two. It's time to get off your FOX-bashing high-horse and focus on things that matter, for crissakes!!

What amazes me the most about the lemmings posting, here, is they don't even watch FOX News! They rely on snippets of REPUBLICAN spin meisters who are ALWAYS countered by the likes of Kirsten Powers, Marah Liason, Juan Williams, David Korn, Lanny Davis, etc.... Of course, BNF never shows the arguments on the flip side...THAT would be fair and balanced!

When Keith Olberman spews his hatred toward "anything not Obama," that's OK...right? When Jack McCafferty fawns over Obama like a 16 year old girl fawns over her favorite American Idol, that's OK, too.

This blog is little more than a pissing contest over who can parrot the most derogative euphamisims for FOX News. The truth is, FOX's coverage IS more balanced than NBC, CBS or CNN. You folks don't see it that way, first, because you never watch it, second, because you take other peoples' word for it and, third, because you are AT LEAST as left-wing as you claim FOX is right wing!

Whatever happened to MODERATE thinking? At this rate, the winner in all this will be McCain.... Neither wackos on the right or left like him...he's concerned about global warming but supports the war effort. He wants low taxes AND wants to cut federal spending of pork.

Oh, I'm sorry for talking about issues, here...this place is reserved for bashing FOX!

My husband is a High School Social Studies teacher, so, we flip through all the news channels from 5:30am to 7:00am. We watch what's going on on FIX NEWS so that he will have something to show his students just how far away from the truth "News" can really be. First, they watch pieces from the three cable news networks (CNN,MSNBC,FIX), then they search for the truth. FIX news loses every time.
His point is not to show a preference to one side or the other of an issue, but to show his students how not to be ignorant in what they choose to believe. I wish a lot of adults I know could be as informed as my husband's Senior Social Studies Students.

Fox is owned and operated by conservative right wingers and hence their reporting is going to reflect that. If a news service wants to give an editorial piece then it should be labeled as such. News should be objective and not slanted. However, this goes back to the days of muckraking with the likes of William Randoph Hearst. When you own something as important as a newspaper and or news program you use it to further your political agenda. It is simply politics as usual and you can always do what I do--mute it or change the channel.

The likes of FOX, Rush Limbaugh and Richard Mellon Scaife are trying to poison the democratic primary campaign. After listening to 10 minutes of Rush Limbaugh's radio show the other day listening to him talk about his chaos campaign (or should I say KAOS campaign), I realized why Scaife may have endorsed Hillary Clinton. FOX being quick to declare Clinton the winner in Pennsylvania is consistent with this. Terry McAuliffe and Hillary Clinton should be more careful with whom they associate with.

Hillary is part of the big political scheme of keeping with the conservative tradition that allows corporations to have the world in a strangle hold, especially the United States. She is NOT liberal, she is NOT in touch with the common working person, and she is certainly NOT progressive. What else would you expect from someone who supported NAFTA for a solid decade and before that served on the board of directors for Wal-Mart?

Look at the way Fox treats the two candidates. They call Hillary Clinton a bitch, but they call Barack Obama anti-America. Which do you think the American people find worse?--The Republicans WANT Hillary to make it to the White House so she can keep up the corporate scheme.

I, for one, will do all I can to stop that.

What i derived from watching it is this. I do not see it as 'right wing' adn if i did that would not be what bothered me. it is that it is just so uncommonly devisive. if someone spoke to me on the street like this i could only conclude that they were nutzz. it remindes me of tuning into Wally George when i was a teen and witnessing his slow but definate deteroration into the abyss of fear and hate. im not sure how old you are so you may not remember him. fox and the people on it are out of their minds. and for the record, i am a conservative. it is truly shameful that they dont employ more intelligent minds over there.

The PIPA study (Program on International Policy (PIPA) at the University of Maryland and Knowledge Networks) was based on a series of seven US polls conducted from January through September of 2003. The study reveals that before and after the Iraq war, a majority of Americans had significant misperceptions and these are highly related to support for the war in Iraq - and their news source.

To be specific, FOX News watchers were the most ignorant of the facts. 80% of them had 1 or more misconceptions, while only 20% had no misconceptions. PBS viewers were almost completed reversed: 23% and 77%.

"Broadcast bias resulted in significant national misperceptions about a major political policy issue -- going to war in Iraq. If the unholy alliance between government and broadcasters is allowed to persist, if broadcast media remain unregulated and unrestrained, then the misperceptions about Iraq are only a harbinger of many more to come. The democratic experiment cannot survive for long if the citizenry is, with state approval, systematically misinformed."

Americans went to war because FOX News lied to them. Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes blamed Americans for being too stupid to know the difference between opinion and hard news. They must be very proud of 'hoodwinking and bamboozling' Americans.

If McAuliffe represents Hillary Clinton's approach to the truth, then his slip into a Fox commercial suggests a very disturbing tendency towards short-term memory loss for opportunistic self-aggrandizement--another case of 'I remember running for cover in Bosnia' because it makes a good story and it's what the audience wants to hear. But what I really want to hear (and what I hope the American audience wants to hear as well) is honesty, integrity and a thoughtful analysis of the facts. Wasn't it FOX News that "called" the Florida election for Bush the first time round? I hope the rest of the country isn't suffering from memory loss.

I used to like Terry, but he really screwed up this time by lying & saying something stupid , like Fox is fair & balanced, just because they predicted a primary right. They are usually just
a bunch of Republicans putting out propaganda.
Saying something good about Fox should hurt Terry
& Hillary in primary, but it's almost over for them anyway.

Do Democrats forget the whole FAKE John Kerry story posted by FOX News Channel chief political correspondent Carl Cameron, in which the following FAKE John Kerry quotes appeared:

---"Didn't my nails and cuticles look great? What a good debate!" Kerry said Friday.

---"Women should like me! I do manicures," Kerry said.

---"I'm metrosexual -- he's a cowboy," the Democratic candidate said of himself and his opponent.

Guess what? Carl Cameron still has a job at Fox

That's right, while conservatives rail against the New York times about Jason Blair fabricating news they should understand that at least the NYT FIRED HIM.

I long ago lost all respect for FOX, when it allowed itself to be an outlet for global warming skeptics. Global warming is so universally accepted now among scientists and experts, that this proved to me that FOX is in the business of disseminating lies, not truth.

I don't watch Fox ever. The only time I ever see anything of them is when watching Kieth O. on MSN or on web sights like this. What I get from these segments is nothing but hate mongering so I would say that every moment their on is the worst. To call themselves a news station is nothing but pure fantasy. The only things coming out of their mouths is pure hate, lies, slander. Their a joke.

Fox is a Dangerous Machine owned by a ruthless Right winger. The Fox network of Right Winded Maniacs is a Danger to Our Nation that the Average American does not yet understand. They use Sports and Sitcoms to keep a faithful base and appear Liberal. This is the Hook. When the Average Person sees Fox Football Coverage, then after 3 hours of Football, Is lead into the News Hour, this is how Fox keeps its viewer. Talk to Family and Friends about discerning between Fox Sports or the "Simpsons", and the Fox Fake News Danger.

Corporate-owned media as a whole is detrimental to democracy. If the news are owned by powerful, greedy corporations, who will inform the public truthfully? CNN is with Obama and Fox News is with Hillary, which means both networks are biased and both candidates represent the corporate elite, just like both the Democratic and Republican parties make up the Big Business party together.

Which is not to say that there are not individual heroes within this corporate structure. Brave journalists, honest politicians, etc. But these make up the very small minority and are crushed by the system as quickly as possible.

Fox News has been extremely negative toward Barack Obama. They constantly slander Pastor Wright, though I personally agree with some of the issues he has with The U.S. Government, but Fox won't let up. They are becoming so annoying and boring I turn them off when they start slandering. Obama's remarks about the guns and churches was taken out of context; I understood what Obama meant, but Fox made such an issue of the remarks just before the PA Primary. Hannity and Colmes are disgusting. I just tune them out because now they are so boring. They are not giving the news; they give their ignorant, biased, opinions. Bill O'Reilly does alot of negative input, but not as much as Hannity and Colmes. They are deliberately trying to hurt Obama, who is so much more intelligent, experienced, and has class which Hannity and Colmes do not. I would like to punch Hannity in the nose. Wire up his mouth.

There are three words that can NEVER be strung together to describe FIX News; objective, truthful, and fair. Faux News and now the Hillary Clinton campaign are engaged in using the same tactic and lies, "If you say something often enough, people will believe it". They both know that large segments of the American population like to let 'OTHER" people think for them.

Why are Hillary supporters kissing FOX News' Asses, Just like 'suddenly' becoming Friendly with the Sciafe (?)- Becasue they have always been friends of these media Whores.
things are not what they appear- 'good cop ,Bad Cop' both Cops (corps) work both sides against the middle. the more they 'insult' Hillary- the more of a gutteral reaction they get from her rank & File Supporters- helping push her 'Wins', her 'electablity'. If they were really out to show the Cheney & Co accomplice she's been they need only review her votes, her dereliction of Duty while on th eArmed Services Committee- the real Truths which reveal this covert operative of the Corp sponsored machine. Don't hink just becasue they hurl ridiculous 'mud' at her they are undermining her- they ae tryin gto strength her by avoid the Real Problems with the nomination of Hillary- So are many other media outlets. There are Serious implication as to Why Hillary will only be more of the Same - One only need to truthfully review her record, her actions and inactions while in the Senate & Esp the Armed Services Com (con). the spin, deceptive, Term has surfaced lately that is an Oxymoron, and a Historical Lie, "REAGAN DEMOCRAT"- No such beast ever lived- it is a Rewriting of the Facts. REAL DEMSHATED RONNY- he undermined the Unions, created the 'Will to Work' "Truth Speak" Rhetoric, Ignored AIDS until it hit the General Population, He overlooked (encourge ) Corp Crime, He allowed the Raping of the Environment,He did nothing about the gangland situation in the inner cities, IRAN CONTRA!! etc etc. But realistically I am giving that Cheney Puppet far to much credit. He had signs of Alzhiemers when he took office. Exactly what DICK is going to do with Mac, Less effort will be needed with Hillary she has been fully indoctinated and has been an asset since she stepped into The Senate for the Goals of this Anti American Regime.
If you realize who Hill & Mac Work for it becomes easier to see when they Tip their hands- they think we are blind, deaf and dumb

McAuliffe's comments show what sort of scum is trying to get back into the White House. I was a strong supporter of Clinton when he was in power, but since I've learned a lot of the pro-corporate activities he spoused, like the ones that benefited Clear Channel's take over of more than 1300 radio stations obliterating the local radio markets to the detriment of US citizens, and the NAFTA eal that has been terrible for Mexico's majorities, benefitting only the rich elites. McAuliffe's comments are utterly irresponisible!!!

Stop. FOX News is selling a product. they are taking news clips of public figures, editing them, and then reassembling them out-of-context in order to fit the commentary that they are supplying for their viewers, in hopes that people will buy what they are selling. they make it seem legit by mixing it all in with a lot of unedited, 'straight' news as well, the idea being that, when people buy into the fact, they will also adopt the fiction, and ( from their perspective, hopefully ) not be able to distinguish between the two. fortunately, we live in a country where both sides of issues are allowed to be publicly expressed, even if the 'pro and con' arguments on these issues are not always evenly distributed. but, let's not pretend for a second that 'Democrats are bad / support our sponsors' is sustantively any different than 'FOX News is bad / support our videos'. There may be a difference as to the product that is actually being sold, but the tricks and gimmicks used to sell it are pretty much the same, on either side of the fence.

I have such loathing for FOX News that I rarely watch it, but I have no doubt that it exists SOLELY to articulate and propagandize an extreme-rightwing view that doesn't not hold up under any real scrutiny at all. FOX"News" is propaganda, plain and simple... Hillary is so desperate at this point that it seems she is grasping at straws to become something she really is not. I've switched to CNN, who, although there are a number of Obamatized 'journalists' , like Gloria Borger,is much more balanced, in terms of presenting both pro & anti Hillary & Obama coverage.

I, too, blocked FOX from my TV long ago. However, I take care of a man who watches FOX all too often, so I am forced to the exposure. FOX is the epitome of sensationalism. It is obvious, over and over that FOX cares about "shock factor" reporting much more than legitimate reporting of the truth. I call it "FAUX NEWS"... a comedic side-show that likens the made-up news of Saturday Night Live. At any moment, I expect that Chevy Chase and Jane Curtain might roll on screen. The biased reporting of FAUX NEWS puts it into a league of it's own...a league devoid of even the smallest hint of journalistic integrity. The fact that a prominent Clinton-ite would infer that FAUX NEWS deserved any kudos as a legitimate reporting entity proves how entrenched Hillary is within the problems of the powerful in America. Shame on Hillary, McAuliffe, AND FAUX NEWS. What goes around will come around...the American people have had enough.

Does that mean barrack Obama campaign accepts campaign help from Hamas?
Isn't this making Rep. Steve King's remarks about quote "if Obama wins terrorists will dance at Gaza streets like they did after 9/11" will become true!!! Aren't these people the ones who danced after 9/11 at Gaza streets?

I really don't watch FOX TV because of the type of programs that it promotes, HATE and CONFUSION. The FOX network is so blatantly supportive of the Bush Administration and so clearly purveying anti-Obama propaganda that you might conclude that Karl Rove, the guy who outed Valerie Plame without facing prosecution, works in the network's newsroom. Mr. McAuliffe is blind and deaf to think that the network which calls Barack Obama "so liberal that he is a threat to America" could be considered balanced and fair. This ad makes it clear that Terry is a very strong supporter of Hilary Clinton, whom I do not trust because of the White Water scandal and because of her negative campaign against her fellow Senator Obama. I think the Clinton campaign and those associated with are arousing old anti-black prejudice, just as FOX network is! And there is too much racial bigotry left in America for any Democrat to endorse such a prejudice. We need a President Obama to prove that such a fear is unjustified, not just unfair. Senator Barack Obama will make a great President and bring reconciliation to the Democratic Party and the nation.

COULD IT BE ... a rather simpler explanation? That because Terry McAuliffe always does the extreme bidding of whomever employees him, unlike comment below re Fox's payroll or other re "imbecilic," he's doing his job, shrewdly, to control the CONVENTION COVERAGE, et al.? The campaign he's worked on has used kitchen-sink & bus-thowing-under methods, but this is subtler? He's merely paving another spun way for his candidate? With the bad luck of the draw, unfair/unbalanced FNC is pool TV for Democratic Convention: everything that every Americans sees every moment in Denver -- (un)flattering shots, (in)attention, repeating missteps, omitting, etc., -- will be filtered/ slanted/biased to, we know, make Democratic candidates look bad versus Bush's Party. But how much karma can one more lie cost McAuliffe. He need not be "imbecilic" or work for FNC... I think this simply means he's doing HIS JOB: sewn up the Democratic convention images (and other enormous media-coverage favors that Murdoch, an early Clinton backer, can dish out before August on behalf of his actual employers and against Clintons' Democratic opponent) -- Ya know, just doin' his job.

What fun. I hardly ever watch or listen to Fox News, with the notable exception of listening to the Fox News replay and other Sun AM Talk Shows on C-Span Radio. I must say I thought Obama did very well with Chris Wallace, and it would be hard to say that this (04/27) interview was not fair & balanced. That said, it seems to me that while one could not say McAuliffe - who is being well paid by Fox - is being used; he can be said to be doing what he can to use right-wing media to elect Clinton, the candidate that this segment of the media quite obviously would like to see run in the fall general election against McCain.

Since when did "calling an election" become a reason to applaud a network "news" station?!

Actal journalism reports on an election, comments on an election, analyzes an election. But "calling an election"?!

If McAuliffe were as enthusiastic about the real voting issues and continuous problems that have been rampant in each and every state's primary, and that include confusing new voter ID laws irregularly and sometimes illegally enforced, improperly trained poll workers, registered voters missing from lists, shortages of staff and machines and ballots, long lines, voter intimidation, and the stubborn clinging to voting machines that have long since proven to be hackable, unreliable, and unverifiable and that have resulted in people not voting, votes not counted at all, and incorrect and unverifiable vote tallies, as he is about who pre-guesses an election's winner first, then we could forgive him.

A critical national election is not a game of "Jeopardy," in which the winner is the one who pushes the button first and yells out the correct answer. May I suggest McAuliffe devote the rest of his career to hosting a game show. Please.

Or could it be that he's auditioning for one of those two or three "liberal" POV jobs on the Fox network?

If it is true that Faux News will be the pool coverage for the Democratic Convention this summer we will be treated to every sort of subliminal negative image they can find in an attempt to make the democrats look bad. On another note if you want to see some real fair and balanced journalism check out Bill Moyers interview with Rev. Jeremiah Wright to get a completely different view of the man Faux News has demonized and villified with their endless loop of a :10 second sound bite "snippet" from a nearly hour long sermon. The Moyers interview gives a much better context for the sound bites we've all listened to so many times before. www.pbs.org

Should be noted that other news organizations supported Fox News in its appeal of the verdict against Fox in the whistle blower suit filed by the two reporters.

    4. Fox analyst Jonathan Hoenig, "There’s no scientific proof that global warming even exists. To be honest, it’s a bogus consensus dreamed up by Greens because they hate industry." May, 2006

They also actively encouraged torture early in the war. They hosted on their Faux news report a braying blaring a**h***, who appeared to be a torturer. This knuckledragger blared, "let's hope we can some good information out of these captives without the JAG getting involved." It has become exceedingly obvious that the tactics behind the attacks on Obama are being led by the Right because they don't want to face Obama in the General Election. All along they have been planning on Clinton getting the nomination and Karl Rove and his bunch were well prepared on how they were going to campaign against her. The Right is worried that Obama will draw away moderate Republicans from McCain and that is why the attacks on Obama are coming from everywhere. The stupidest thing is that the mainstream media are repeating the Rights attacks because they have a hard time thinking for themselves. Terry McAuliffe is a fool and a traitor to his party. One more thing...I heard Rush Limbaugh talking on Sunday and you would have thought he was a Clinton supporter by the way he attacks Obama and repeats the Clinton attacks on Obama. It's obvious that Limbaugh wants to face Clinton in the General Election.

I think FOX news is the reason we are tied up in this horrible war with this horrible president. It saddens and sickens me to think there are those in the US that get their "news" from this seedy, immorale source. I did record Obama's interview on FOX, I haven't had the chance to watch it yet. Most disgusting FOX moment I've seen recently; Sean Hannity "debating" Phil Donahue about Iraq and other issues. When Phil used their own tactics against them of out yelling and interupting Sean, (except Phil had relvent facts and Issues), Hannity was reduced to, "Well Saddam gassed his own people!" Donahue rightly pointed out that happened in the 1980s when we supported them, and provided some if not all the chemicals and weaponry. Hannity kept yelling irrelevant & misleading items, while Donahue out yelled him with facts and relevent issues. Hannity was reduced to a 12 yr old child and all he could keep saying way, "Saddam gassed his own people. Want me to show the photos!? I'll show the photos!"

McCauliffe is the head of the DLC, the corporate wing of the Democratic Party. What is not mentioned very much is the fact that we are now engaged in a desperate battle for control for the party. They pulled off the necessary coup in 2004 by sabataging Howard Dean and replacing him with safe corporate shill, John Kerry. Now it is Hillary that is carrying the corporate banner. We need to remember that it isn't the Republicans per se that we are battling. It is corporate America, and they are heavily invested in both parties.

I feel sorry for both Terry McAuliffe and Hillary Clinton. They both live in denial that Fox is behaving favorably toward Clinton, only because they are setting her up for a hit in the fall should she be the democratic nominee. Hillary has also praised Fox in the past few months. Pure and simple, Fox wants Clinton as the nominee. That is why they are the Clinton's best friend right now. Fox News is not suddenly "fair and balanced", they are "business as usual" only favorable toward Clinton for the time-being. Did everyone forget that altogether, NewsCorp/Fox executives gave at least $40,000 to the Clinton campaign?

The 'news' of all types are nothing but zionist owned propaganda machines!
From what I know to be happening, the lack of reporting and/or refusal thereof, amounts to a violation of several laws and my constitutional right to freedom.
The 'fact' that I have been personally involved in so called reports, allows me to see exactly the BS Fox and all the 'others' put out.
One example: the support the troops catch phrase used by so many and especially by the administration and news people...is BS!
Several lawyers were sent by the justice department to California recently filing suit against veterans benefits! This was sent to all the media...the silence was deafining...
The only entity to validate PTSD in legal and rights terms are the insurance companies...go figure.
It goes on and on, but these are just a couple of my reasons for not watching, sending scathing e's, and cute notes to the pukes on air.
There is some change comin from several places all at once. I doubt these out of touch dinks have any idea...but it's comin!

Some of us have figured out who Hillary really is and McAuliffe just helps prove our point.

I keep hearing people say that Limbaugh and Co. want Hillary to get the nomination because they think they can beat her. That’s what I thought at first too. But now I suspect that they want her to win because she’s ONE OF THEM. She tells us who she is all the time like with her recent threat to nuke Iran. Here's another little clue from Hillary's own mouth:

In the Feb. 26th debate Hillary said, “You know, we've just been talking about Russia. We could have gone around the world. We could have gone to Latin America and talked about, you know, the retreat from democracy.”

RETREAT FROM DEMOCRACY?!? What on Earth does Hillary mean by a retreat from democracy in Latin America? What about Michelle Bachelet, Rafael Correa, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, Evo Morales and Fernando Lugo? Even Hugo Chávez and Daniel Ortega, although they’ve been demonized, the people who elected them seem very happy with them. When Chávez tried to end term limits the people voted against it. Democracy worked! It seems to me that democracy is ADVANCING in Latin America.

I don’t think in terms of Democrats vs. Republicans anymore. After pondering what John Perkins says in “Confessions of an Economic Hit Man” I now think in terms of The Corporatocracy vs. The People. Hillary proves to me over and over that she is with The Corporatocracy. It’s true that Obama has had to play the corporate game to get where he is and I’m not happy with many of his statements or votes. But Hillary acts like a cheerleader for them and she seems to be actively working to elect McCain.

Perhaps Terry M is a Democrat the same way Lieberman was!! This is one way Democrats are different from Republicans: established Republicans never kiss up to their nemesis in order to promote their personal gain or as in this case with Terry M to hurt a potential candidate of their party they don’t like. That is why the Democrats may lose an election that should have been in the bag this time around: they lack commitment to the core issues.

The Rev. Wright is funnier and more entertaining then the boring Fox News Team. I am a White Woman, and find nothing offensive about Rev. Wright; much of what he says about some issues are very true. We have a government consisting of mostly hypocrits; unfortunately too many Americans cannot see that the media is the cause of slandering Obama and Pastor Wright. They are the ones who started most of this bad press. John McCain is an old bore, and where did Hillary Clinton go to church; she never says. She would probably wear a Yamaka when trying to get Jewish votes, dress up like a nun for the Catholics, and fall to the floor for the Evangalists. Fox and CNN get off Rev. Wright's case already and let Obama run his election. People rather tune in to watch him then Hannity and O'Reilly. They are like two boring old ladies in rocking chairs.

Frankly, though, I became a Democrat thanks to Fox News. I used to be Republican and watch Fox News exclusively, but then "we" invaded iraq, and it stretched into years, and the horror of thie mistake became obvious, worse than my worst fears, and flag-draped coffins were supposed to be kept HIDDEN, and the twisted logic got more convoluted by the day, and I hungered for Iraq war reports and Fox News wasn't showing any, but the other channels were. So I changed channels. And learned a LOT. So thanks, you openly, unapologetically EVIL, lying socioapaths and monsters, for that, at least.

Hey Terry McAulliffe interesting reporting on your gal pal Hilary. Would you also like to re-air the news footage of when she and Bill left the Whithouse with approx. $750,000 of furninshng that belong to the Whitehouse and the people and the history of this country. That whiny "we didn't know" came from who ? Carol Ann Boris commented 1 day ago:
    ====================================================================================================
You're not very smart are you? So you believe the rhetoric that Wright is polluting the airwaves for his own ego boost? And what does your race and sex have to do with anything? You're probably black, posing as white any ways. What about the 10,000 square foot house Wright is building in the middle of a white neighborhood, and the $10,000,000 credit he has? I hope your trailer burns to the axles, and your 16 inch black and white TV is destroyed, so you can't watch HeeHaw anymore.

@Keith Blobberman: Carol Ann Boris appears to have it more-or-less spot-on. I'm also white, but my views are more in line with Rev. Wright's than just about anyone in the political "mainstream." Some of what he says may be nonsense, but a lot of the rest points to some pretty ugly truths that many Americans need to hear, even if they don't want to. Kinda like how a lot of white racists in the 60s needed to hear that segregation was immoral.

Carol also manages to be consistently coherent, whereas I still can't decipher half of what you said.

@JAY JOHNSON: Too true. (When and IF, anyway, though I agree it seems likely).

What disturvs me is the grade school playground bully attitude of the folks on Fox. Barack HUSSEIN Obama... Did Bill O'reilly pick his own middle name? He didn't have the "super cool" American flag pin! John McCain doesn't wear one all of the time either. He's connected to a member of the SDS that was most active when Senator Obama was in elementary school! So what! I was a member of the SDS also.
As Fox has proven, you can't go wrong by pandering to the lowest common denominator.
  • Lynn Strandberg · 1 year ago
Keith Blobberman...Is that a real name? Despite Rev.Wright's oh so obvious failings, he does make a point. African Americans have plenty to be bitter about. Just check out David Duke's web site. (And don't forget to search for the articleswritten by Ron Paul when you go there!)

FOX is a despicable mouthpiece for the reactionary right-wing. No surprise there. BUT!

Reverend Wright is divisive and racist. In his speech to the NAACP, his whole theme was “different does not mean deficient.” He talked about how blacks and whites were “different” in everything from language to music to religious worship. He even imitated the sharply different styles ofcollege marching bands. Michigan State, he demonstrated, simply did not “move” on the field the way the Grambling Band did.

Now I wonder what that was supposed to mean! The inescapable answer is that a band that is comprised mainly of African-Americans has better rhythm than a predominantly white band does. That not a racist and divisive comment? Can you imagine the outcry if a Clinton supporter said the same thing? I supposed the basketball analogy is next?

I don't watch Fox, except as a captive audience as briefly as possible where I work out, because the vast majority of their "moments" are ugly and vicious. Unfair and Unbalanced speaks much more to what they are about, and I would suggest that once we have a Democrat in the White House, no Democrat ever grace their little cesspool with an appearance or interview. McAuliffe is pandering to the worst possible crowd, and Hillary is too with her support for McCain's "gas tax holiday" idea. How absurd. Are we not in enough debt already?

Months ago, the stupidity and cheapness of this network got to me and I deleted the Fox noise machine from my channel selections. FOX NEWS incitement to hate and fear the Senator from Illinois, is pernicious and could have terrible consequences.
As they continue to pump their toxic drivel into the airways,
some minds are going to be overcome. Some people will be persuaded that the senator really is the enemy within.
What if an American, so convinced, were to do what he or she saw as their patriotic duty ...and take matters into their own hands ? What if this model American were, with God at their side and a gun in their hand take aim at Senator Obama ?
What will FOX NEWS say when the assassin points their finger at
    fair and balanced FOX NEWS.
I think that all of us who support Obama,s bid for the White House share a deep fear that he may meet the fate as Lincoln,
the Kennedys, and King. Should this occur, FOX NEWS will be able to take much of the credit for creating the atmosphere
in which such a thing could happen and the ensuing turmoil into which
this country would collapse as a result.

Fox for the most part is not fair and balance when
it comes to politics and the Democrats. In the beginning of the Presidential race, John Edwards
would not agree to a debate on Fox, most other
    Democrats also agreed.

Since John Edwards suspended his campaign, I guess all bets were off. First I noticed Dennis K do an interview, then Hillary Clinton, I think
Bill Richardson did also. Rupert Murdock has contributed to Hillary's campaign. I don't know if he has contributed to Barack Obama's campaign. But last weekend he agreed to appear for an interview with C. Wallace, ending his standoff.

It seems the two Presidential candidates are now
agreeing to appear because they feel they need more exposure, and Fox gets more viewers than CNN MSNBC, so I guess they feel it's worth the Fox spin they will get on their appearances. However, I do feel, that the other cable stations
aren't much better when it comes to fair and balanced. They don't report the news non-bias, each gives their own opinion on the issues they are reporting on, so I yell at the screen and the pundits, when not occasionally writing a reply on their blogs.

Fox is a rag, like the NY Post, purely tabloid. and every tervn

Oh, somebody call the wah-mbulance... Give me a break. Fox broadcasts with a right wing perspective. CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN even PBS are all ultra left wing.

Why is it that if there is one non-liberal media outlet, it's the only one that is "unfair," "unbalanced" and "inaccurate"? I'm glad there is at least the one out there that doesn't just shove the liberal rubbish down America's throat. If it is sometimes noticibly leaning to the right, at least it's great see that the liberal news media doesn't completely monopolize the industry.

Even his own pastor Rev Wrong was right to call him, just a politician! hat change and different type of politics he is taklking about? He can make those 19 year old kids belive but not the majority of the American people!
It was ok, for Obama to listen to his pastor for 20 years , It was ok to hear God damn America, We deserved 9/11 and he stayed at the church but it was NOT ok when Rev Wright said he is just a politician and harmed his campaign, all of a sudden he was wrong???

Why than Obama is still a member of that church?
    Can you please tell me?
The church printed anti-semitic anti-Israel newsletters after Rev Wright left the church and Barrack Obama still belongs to that church!!!

It sickens me to the core to realize just how far FOX would go to corrupt this election; much like how Doug Christie a.k.a. Rush Limbaugh runs his own immoral campaign against a fair election campaign. However, it saddens me to think that the very mention of differences according to race (or maybe class) would pull such hostility from our souls. Make no mistake; the reason why this story dominates FOX news is that Rupert Murdoch knows that much like sex, hate sells. He also knows that the accusation is more important than the explanation or the truth; the accusation introduces doubt. This is the reason why Obama is slipping in the polls… not due to his stand on anything pertinent, but simply because he and his wife were members of a church where the Pastor made divisive statements. My choice of the word “divisive” in describing his words is probably the main problem in America regarding race: Blacks and Whites sometimes see things differently. Someone else might listen to the bulk of Reverend Wright’s words and see pure racism: while I personally do not. Now I will say that I haven’t heard all of Reverend Wright’s sermons, however I have attended enough churches to realize that the Pastor usually speaks of the concerns of his “flock” or congregation. For instance, a white congregation would think that the invention of a disease to exterminate a group of people would seem preposterous (the accusation surrounding AIDS); however, when those in the black community remember the actions involving the “Tuskegee Syphilis Study,” a preposterous sounding story would gain validity.

It is sad that we still live in a racially polarizing land; however, it doesn’t have to be an ignorant one. There’s nothing wrong with asking a question regarding a situation, instead of accepting a lie or a half-truth. If we gain wisdom from situations instead of falling for the race trap laid by FOX and their ilk, this country would be far more understanding and far less hostile.

This comment is late in coming because I have been working every day long hours just to pay the rent and keep afloat -- now I have a couple of minutes because I cannot sleep. I am disgusted about the pandering of the Clinton camp to the worst of so called journalistic media -- FOX. FOX contributes more to the dumbing down of America, the fostering of divisive idealogy, and manulistic hateful and snide from their commentators. FOX sells hate and prejudice and half truths (or non-truths). I will never support any or buy product advertised on that channel. The Reverand Wright avalanche is thoroughly despicable. If any thing is "un-American" it is certainly FOX. Our founding fathers are turning over in their graves to see what depths and slime the have sunk to.

I wanted to steal a quote from one of these patriotic journalists that you were slobbering over. If the Democratic Party is anti-American, I think a Democrat fawning over them for sure is anti-American. These people are just a hair below Michael Savage. These disgusting things said by the whimps that have never done a thing for humanity about people that have worked almost all their lives in public service is truly un-American, and reeks of the facism of the thirties & forties.

Terry YOU & Hillary Clinton should be ashamed....

I AGREE THAT FOX "NEWS" IS THE MOUTHPIECE FOR BUSH AND THE REPUBLICAN PARTY TO SPIN A STORY WITH OPINONS AND HALF TRUTHS TO RUN THEIR AGENDA. NEWS IS JUST THAT GIVE THE PUBLIC UNBIASED FACTS ON EVERY STORY. THIS IS NOT THE ONLY EXAMPLE OF THE DOWNWARD SPIRAL OF PRESENTING NEWS TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC. THIS ALL STARTED IN THE 70S WHEN THE NETWORK CORPORATIONS CHANGED ITS POLICY TO RATINGS AND A BOTTOM LINE. THEY DEMANDED THAT ITS NEWS DIVISIONS WOULD NOW HAVE TO BE PROFITABLE AND THE ENTERTAINMENT FACTOR WAS SLOWLY ADDED IN FOR RATINGS AND ADVERTISERS REVENUE. NETWORK NEWS USED TO JUST REPORT WHAT HAPPENED THAT DAY. NOW ITS SHOWBIZ.....ANNOUNCERS THAT SOUND LIKE THE TRACTOR PULL IS ABOUT TO START OR ANY OTHER VOICE FOR EFFECT IS USED....GRAPHICS AND SOUNDS ACCOMPANY EVERY DETAIL OF DIALOG ENHANCED ...CRAWLS AND ALL THIS DISTRACTION DUMBS US ALL DOWN TO MAKE UP OUR MINDS ABOUT EVENTS IN THIS COUNTRY AND AROUND THE WORLD. WE NEED SIMPLE FACTUAL NEWS NOT MONEY DICTATING OUR INFORMATION STREAM.

I saw your little promo film on youtube and it is highly edited. Fox shows both sides yet you edited out the side you did not want shown so you can make fox look bias. You could do the same with CNN with enough interviews and footage editing but I don't see that from you because they may support the same cause or candidate as you. Do you guys actually watch fox news? I think it is quite possible that because the network news media has been so liberal in recent decades that once a non-bias news organization comes on the radar, it seems to you that it is extremely bias because you are not getting the complete and exclusive ear candy you are used to. You may not even know that is what is happening. You should also look in to getting a link from Barak Obama's wesite to your website. I guess it is okay to delve into Hillary Clinton and John McCain's lives but we cannot do so with Obama because it may be construed as racism. Give me a break. You want the end of racism, we treat him as we do all political contenders in this era and dig and dig. He is not immune just because he is black, the Presidency does not adhere to affirmative action policies. You actually have to get the best score to get it. On second thought, maybe the administrators of this website are intelligent. You have obviously taken a conclusion you want to make and chosen material to support it, and targeted a gullable and already racially charged audience to take advantage of supporting your vote tally. Kudos, you've successfully once again raped the american black man and women of individual thinking and of voting for what is best for them. You should be ashamed.

This is the most ridiculous attack I have ever seen from the liberal left media. These excerpts show someone bashing Clinton or Obama, but what is fails to show is the Democratic strategist who is also in the studio or on the split screen. FOX is a threat to democracy...no, I say the leftist media and thier intent to shut down any criticism of their policies and candidates is the bigger threat.
  • Emily · 1 year ago
If the media is so liberal how come they did not call the administration out on all the lies about Iraq? At least CNN and others try to be neutral, but Fox doesn't even pretend. CNN is not the one who is calling people "un-American" because they have different viewpoints. I truly wonder how Fox supporters think that this kind of polarizing talk is going to solve anything in this country.
