you people are laughable, you twist and turn the truth to fit your pitiful liberal defeatis attitude....no wonder your not taken serious and you get no respect........you suck!!
  • Barack Obama For President · 1 year ago
My hope is that only die hard conservatives who would never vote for a Democrat anyway pay any attention to Fox News. I mean, it would be insane for anyone to think that Fox News is an actual news organization. They are clearly a GOP propaganda network.

javier, thanks for visiting. what color is the sky in the strange little world you come from? and are all the people who live there as stupid as you are?
  • Eric · 1 year ago
Your twisting these stories to fit your purposes is no different than FOX News reporting in the style that they do. CNN is 'objective', but to say that they do not have a liberal bias is laughable. Your treatment of the clips in this video make me question where objective news can actually be had, because it sure isn't here.

You all need to get real and read this quote then go to Media Monitors
    http://www.mediamonitors.net/mosaddeq32.html

The business of a journalist now is to destroy the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, fall at the feet of Mammon and sell himself for his daily bread. We are tools, vessels of rich men behind the scenes, we are jumping jacks. They pull the strings; we dance. Our talents, our possibilities and our lives are the properties of these men. We are intellectual prostitutes.[1]

I don't think anyone takes this network seriously anyway. They're a joke, not only to democrats, but also to a growing number of disillusioned republicans.
  • Anonymous · 1 year ago
It seem to me you all are crying about how rough Obama had it on ABC Debate and On fox news where were you when all of the media and Fox news was attacking Hillary Clinton and where were you when they accused them of bringing race into the campaign when Jessie Jackson Jr said Hillary didn't shed any tears for the black people after Katrena after N H long before Bill Clinton mentioned his Father winning in S C ? I guess that was Ok but to question Obama is not .
  • john · 1 year ago
People DO take this network seriously...how do you think we ended up with two terms for Bush and half the country thinking Saddam and Bin-Laden were pals?
  • RockDoctrine · 1 year ago
Come on now Eric. You know better than that. There was no narration over these clips. It's hard to 'twist' stories when you don't have some talking head to spin or 'twist' them. It's just clips run together that you can make your own judgement on. This video is a testament to the fact that the Mainstream Media does not have a liberal bias, but more of a conservative bias. The MM being liberal is one of those falsehoods that has become truth to the morons marinating in the right-wing echo chamber. CNN have a liberal bias... have you heard of Lou Dobbs? Did you see any opposition in the lead up to the Iraq war from that silver-haired beauty Anderson Cooper? Nice work Move-On!

Leia, actually they do lots do, if you only talk to people of your mind set or read their blogs you don't get the whole picture. my daughter paternal grandparents watch FOx news and Fox knows how to poke at their underlying fears and prejudices. and anonymous, ive been upset with the way Hillary was portrayed for a long time, i rooted for her. I myself still decry unfair treatment of her by anyone, but I think the media bias that she brought up and snl made fun of where exaggerated. Obama was getting lots of attention then because he was on top just like she got lots when she was on top. the media reports on winners and whoever they think will bring them the most ratings.

Has anybody ever stop and think about how many hours of programming on FOX is fully devoted to the sensational news items like murders, kidnapings, abductions all with mostly blonde haired beautifull women covereing stories. To say FOX is a network for serious news reporting and discourse is as ludicrus as its claim to be Fair and Balanced.
  • Anonymous · 1 year ago
No, Obama has every right to sue the bejeesuz out of FOX for slander. Naturally, he can't afford such a battle with the Presidency at stake, but as an American Citizen I want to see Rupert Murdoch held accountable for political manipulation. Nobody watches FOX? Shoot I DO, the Simpsons and a whole heck of a lot of other great shows are on there, and this crap is getting propagandized through the Nation's airwaves? Are we turning into a communist state??? DOWN WITH MURDOCH!
  • s_charles · 1 year ago
Excellent! I never watch FOX, have now added ABC to that list along with my letter of complaint and have put MSNBC on notice for Russert's smear comments, and their pick up on FOX garbage.
People don't have to support Sen. Obama but he has the right to be treated fairly and as Media Watch, FAIR and others have pointed out, contrary to claims the media is soft on him, he is being subjected to more personal attacks using 'guilt by association' than any other candidate.
    Enough!
I think a lot of people are totally fed up with this garbage! The answer is to send a letter and change the channel.

You have the dates wrong for the Wright controversy...You have it listed as 2007.

Otherwise, very true sentiments. When I watch Fox (I have low blood pressure and do this to raise it) I have seen nothing but an attempt to tear this person down. This is the same will all "right" programming.

It's a sad testiment that the only person to try to rise above the pathetic nature of our politics is ripped down in such a vicious way.

I cannot stand the liar spin machine for douche tools otherwise known as FOX. But, hey- I can't stand Obama either! Also I can't stand Hillary or McCain.

I am not about to get involved in a who's the lessor shit rally that our electoral process has turned into. And that is what it is.

Anyone who votes in this election is dumber than a broken bottle of molasses.

Liberalism emphasizes individual rights - equal opportunity, freedom of thought & speech, rule of law, mixed economy & transparent system of government.

If Nazis, Islamic Jihad and Republicans think it's Evil - Then being a liberal is the correct thing to be.

I embrace all the things that truly define what a Liberal is. Not what the media defines a liberal as.

I say anyone that doesn't embrace Liberalism in the truest sense of the definition is Un-American, Anti-Democratic, pro-totalitarianism, pro-fascism and is helping the terrorists to take away your liberties.
  • Rock Doctrine · 1 year ago
Rupert is just greedy. So in as much greed is a threat to democracy, then so is Rupert. He's got no horse in this race. He's bought all of them (except maybe Obama). Didn't you hear about the fundraiser he had for Hillary? He is giving the 'people' what they want though. Fox News has high ratings. That doesn't mean it is 'Fair and Balanced' though.

Murdock owns media outlets which can communicate with 75% of the human race. He claims acts like a right-winger in the United States, but he is married to a Chinese woman and his home is in Beijin. He owns a television network in China which broadcasts Communist propaganda to his Chinese audience. Isn't that a flip flop worthy of note?
  • Fran Hulse · 1 year ago
Rupert Murdock has hijacked the American press.
Fox News is just one of the outlets he uses to manipulate public opinion through lies masquerading as news. He IS the biggest threat to our democracy!!! We ALL have to do something now, before it's too late. One thing we can do is NOT WATCH Fox News or ABC.
  • Lester · 1 year ago

Actually, the Wright clips really are from 2007. Hannity has been trying to demonize Wright and his church for OVER A YEAR now. That's the problem — FOX runs a story, and the rest of the media thinks, "Well, if fox is doing a story on it, maybe we should, too..."

If the media is unbiased, independent and completely thorough, why haven't they discussed the FED? Currently, half the states have at least a grass roots movement in action to abolish the FED, but there's no press coverage. In July, 1968, the House Banking Subcommittee reported that Rockefeller, through Chase Manhattan Bank, controlled 5.9% of the stock in CBS. Furthermore, the bank had gained interlocking directorates with ABC.

Sorry Brave New Films - I love you - but I don't like Obama.

And I'm actually a RON PAUL REPUBLICAN!
  • inditer · 1 year ago
Thank you Brave New Films for your great work. I am a former talk show host who has been fired no less than 3 times for my progressive views. I worked and researched like a dog and I was fired by the likes of Clear Channel and Cumulus for simply expressing progressive (read liberal)views and criticisms.
I'm also a student of history. Modern day American media is virtually the same as the Pravda and Tass days of the Soviet Union. Media ownership (electronic/print) is overwhelmingly right-wing; not conservative, but radical right. It parrots the radical right-wing line.
We essentially live under a corporate dictatorship that controls the media, the government and the state religion. Barack Obama is a tremendous threat to this incredibly powerful and wealthy cabal. Hillary is not. The radical right is convinced McCain can beat Hillary. They're not dumb - they know McCain cannot beat Barack.
Even if Hillary did manage to win the democratic nomination and go on to beat McCain - no problem. Hillary has been cozying up to the radicals of late, note the endorsement of Clinton by right-wing radical, Richard Mellon Scaife's newspaper, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
This is a domestic political cold war with the stakes every bit as high as the old American/Russian dust up. Barack is the Anti-Christ. Now, the Clinton's have sprung an 11th hour commercial in Pennsylvania that flashes a picture of bin Laden. The jingoistic Clinton, of course, hopes that the rubes will combine this with her description of Barack as 'elite' (a coded racist term for 'Uppity' ") and give her a wider margin in PA. She needs to win by about 25 points, she's currently at about 5 or 6.
The bin Laden reference is somewhat ironic insofar as bin Laden is most likely dead (though for some reason no major media will pursue the story).
Hillary is in very imminent danger of estranging herself from decent democrats forever. Take a look at the credible democrats (including Reich and Richardson from her husband's administration) who are endorsing Barack.

How about a movement to force cable television providers to sell cable channels "a la carte"? If the cable industry was forced by the FCC to sell by channel, we could all just not purchase FOX, CNN, ABC, etc. The cable industry would tell us that we would pay more per channel because of the extra overhead. That might limit the number of channels we’d purchase but we would have complete control over what we allow broadcast into our homes. This would really put the cable news industry on notice (not to mention we could shut down the more abusive networks).
  • Jim · 1 year ago
I really like Dan's idea about 'a la carte' cable.
  • humanist · 1 year ago
Yeah, this stuff sucks, but it's not like any mainstream media in this country is much better.

Think about it: the bulk of mainstream media is owned by corporations. Now what happens if they run a story that goes against corporate interests? Why, the corporations get hurt, and thus, the media outlet they own. Solution: self-censorship, although you can bet anyone on a paper or TV show who was too anti-Establishment would be booted out in short order by the corporate board of trustees.

This is why there's no serious talk in the mainstream media about creating real financial equality in the US or worldwide. Its not that it isn't possible (though many media outlets would like to convince you otherwise), and its not because there isn't the will--there just isn't the corporate will, and thus, no media will.

This relates to the reason politics in this country is a no-win game. (Another is that any kind of a hierarchy is oppressive and anti-democratic.) In order to get any real media attention (a necessary step to getting elected), or gather the funds necessary to launch a successful campaign, a presidential candidate has to pander to corporate interests. Sure, Obama may not be Big Business' best friend, but when was the last time he (or any other) serious presidential candidate criticized a monetary system which requires the rich get richer and the poor get poorer? (The Democrats' "solution" is to settle for a milder level of exploitation.)

And an anti-Establishment President would quickly be rendered powerless by Big Business and Big Media.

Case in point: Eliot Spitzer. Ever wonder why the prostitution scandal came out just when it did? Could've been related to the fact that Spitzer was literally just about to launch a crusade against predatory loaning, subprime mortgages, and the Bush regime. But now that Spitzer's been discredited, Bush and other corporate interests are safe from the horrible populists. (Republican Senator David Vitter of Louisiana has also been involved in prostitution, but so far nobody in the media has made a big deal about it. If he ever has a go at the present Establishment, though ...)

For the record, I am a reformist. I believe in progressive politics. I just want to point out that reform will only take us so far in a system so fundamental flawed.

If we ever want to achieve a truly just, egalitarian, peaceful, democratic way of life, at some point we're going to move outside the present system of government.

How anyone can say there is a liberal media bias in America (with Fox News in the picture) is way beyond me.

It's obvious--there is simply no progressive version of Fox News on TV. There's nothing even close.

We can at least be encouraged that, even with McCain getting a TOTAL pass in the media (at least so far), with an entire network to cheerlead for him (Fox News), and the Democrats fighting (for the moment), polls show that McCain is only running even with either Obama or Clinton.

McCain should be ahead by 15 points by this time, under the current media conditions.

When the Democrats pick a candidate, we can unite and go after the REAL enemy--McCain.

I'm from NH and was canvassing for Obama last week-end in Buck's County PA. My impression was that folks there were becoming more and more disgusted with Hillary's distortions of the truth and negative campaigning. They seemed like great people who, like many of us, are going through some rough times. They did not seem particularly likely to be wooed, enchanted or manipulated by Hillary's disinformation/lies. One voter I talked with said "I am so done with Hillary!" I believe that many people are able to distinguish between media and campaign propaganda and real substance. That, however, does not excuse the reprehensible behavior of FOX News and Senator Clinton.
  • goodgirlroxie · 1 year ago

Ah, the honeymoon is over. It's about time that the Dali Obama get's subjected to the same crap as everyone else. He's got his share of crap too.
The petty BS of politics is nothing compared to the fact that He has very little idea what he's talking about when it comes to issues. Most often his naivete and solutions miss the point and don't actually address the problems. It appears to me that he doesn,t really understand the issues.
He sure gets all sensitive when a little smut is thrown his way. At least Hilary throws her own comments and doesn't just have her peeps do it for her. He acts all saintly, like I don't do negative. Like he's seperate from his campaign folks.

People really should be worried about his inexperience and not cringe or call foul when ever some one brings it up.

    @I.P.Y.: If only they were.

@Anonymous: Thanks for the link. Excellent video, it points out exactly the kind of media bias that goes on all the time.

Unfortunately, I can't support Ron Paul. I think he's really good on some issues and really bad on others.

For one thing, his isolationist policy speaks of US imperialism. He's against membership in international organizations which interfere with US sovereignty and US needs (thus putting them above global needs). He wants us out of the United Nations, which does more good in a bad year than the US government has done in over 200.

He's also no great friend to women, minorities, and other oppressed peoples. On racism, for instance, he appears to suffer from "colorblindness" which only ends up supporting racism. (Since we live in a racist society, and are quite often racist ourselves, we need to recognize race so that we don't miss unintentional racism.)

But more than any of that, Ron Paul, though a radical by US political standards, is only about an inch from the midline if one takes a broader view. The real radicals never make it in politics or get into the media, unless they get real results outside of politics, like Gandhi and King--and we all know what happened to them.

I reiterate: politics (in their current form) are not the answer. You elect the politician who'll do the least damage and the most amount of good, and then you go back to making real changes outside of politics.

After reading Bethany's poorly written response, I feel compelled to share my thoughts as well. First of all, Senator Obama is a Constitutional professor and scholar. Bethany, what does your retarded, wicked President bring to the table other than lies, deception and corruption? Secondly, if you think Mr. Obama does not make sense when he speaks, or does not have excellent ideas for efectively managing this nation and helping to repair our rather tarnished reputation throughout the world, you either need to have your ears examined or cleaned! As the typical bitter, cold-hearted Republican, you will insist that the pro-war, elderly man that your shameless party will nominate for the presidency is a better option to either Senator Clinton or Obama. You and your party are a joke, a disgrace to humanity! And you will be defeated in November, because the majority of Americanshave finally begun to open their ears and eyes. The reign of terror, hypocrisy, lies, corruption, war profiteering, racism, greed and lack of patriotism from the Republican party is about to come to an end! Amen to that.

The media is a right-wing mouthpiece. They want to help McCain get elected so that they'll have more wars and scandal to cover. They like a fight and are looking after their own self interest. If McCain is elected, we will see how happy people are in this country. There be more soldiers dying, more foreclosures, skyrocketing gas prices and a tanked economy. You will be eating more macaronia and cheese than you ever thought possible.

  • thinkingblue · 1 year ago
I sit here in front of my computer at 7:25AM reading the viewpoints from, we the common folk. Comments about whether or not the media networks are misleading their viewers with Obama slander.

Some of the remarks are excellent and go right to the heart of what is happening in our corporately owned nation. But some are just rants and raves, trying to protect whatever false perception they may have carved out of the inaccuracies the medias have produced for them.

Since our own mainstream media is also a corporately owned industry they tend to feed us whatever they want us to believe to maintain power. So many comments reflect these ill-gotten beliefs.

It's been outrageous what the radical reactionary wing of the Republican Party has achieved. They have without much ado, brainwashed millions of people who willingly placed an "R" on their forehead and chanted the corporate mantra which totally went against their own self-interest. Ya really gotta give em credit... The conglomerate "Republicans" are the champions.

I am hoping beyond hope that Barack Obama's words of wisdom will resonate throughout this group and perhaps sprinkle a few seeds of truth which will take root upon the minds of these pathetic souls of mimicry. But I'm not going to hold my breath. It's just been too long and it's just too hard to lay down the tarnished sword of mendacity. The shame might be too overwhelming.

In short...I think Obama is great. I think Obama needs 8 more years under his belt. If Hillary could win, and I beileve she is the smartest and most experienced candiate, and most tenacious, which we'll need for the next 8 years to straigthen out George's mess, and with Bill's charm and his respect and experiences with forenign leaders, AND with Obama as V.P. with his great comunication skills, AND a majority of Dems in the Congress, the U.S. can hardly lose. 8 years from now, Obama will be well seasoned to then possibly be one of our greatest presidents of all time.

I disagree. I think Obama should at the very least have his name first on the ticket. I don't think Hilly would make for a bad commander-in-chief, but after the way she has chosen to run her campaign I just can't respect her. Also, (largely because Dick Cheney has expanded the role) the vice presidency is a mostly powerless position. If Barack Obama doesn't take the office I'd prefer he at least stay in the Senate and not be left in some far and forgotten wing of the White House to collect dust.

I used to work for ABC News, Washington. Little George wasn't such a puppet then. It's a shame to see him -- Charlie Gibson, and ABC News as a whole -- go down the same tubes that lead to the cesspool known as FOX News.
They're rich; they don't care about "the news" anymore. No one there has done any real journalism in a decade. Murrow is rolling in his grave. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

Those are your choices, America. All terrible. I want to take a mulligan on this election. Jeremiah Wright is like an uncle to Obama.....Obama said this himself....Wright was the pastor that married Barack and Michelle obama.

It is the media STUPID, and the same-old same-old politics STUPID. The good thing is, this year, so many Americans have woken up, have seen the world through many lenses, instead of a few (cable/network media), and are not going to take it anymore! As Barack Obama says, we are the ones we've been waiting for. We're creating our own media via the internet. They are scared in their boots, and doing everything they can to continue their stronghold on us, but it's not working, NOT THIS TIME! Not only can we, or will we, but MUST we take back our government. The time is now, we're fired up and ready! Before long, there will be another form of PBS, owned by the public, not corporate America, and we'll have the opportunity to turn on our televisions and watch legitimate, intelligent journalism, and we're in the process of forcing the traditional media to change, because they will have no choice. And anyone who thinks Obama doesn't understand the issues, and doesn't have great ideas and plans, in my honest opinion, they don't understand the issues themselves. Obama doesn't need 8 more years of deadbeat Washington, his time has come, our time has come. Hillary Clinton is the epitome of what all of us want to change. We're not just gung-ho, head-over-heels with Obama; we're engaged along with him. CHANGE - REAL CHANGE. Hillary has been spouting recently about fighting the special interests... she's in bed with the special interests! And by the way, I wonder why the media doesn't bring up the law-suit that the Clintons are going through right now? I already know why, it's the media and politics STUPID. Submitted by an average 54 year old white woman, former Hillary Clinton supporter, in her constituency state of NY. Go OBAMA! We're with you ALL the way.

I don't recall anyone asking me in '2000 if America was ready for a moron for president". Best line ever!!! Fox and Rush, Hannity; nothing more then hate mongers. they should just shave their heads to reflect who they really are.

@thinkingblue: Well said. I think you're a little overly pessimistic, but on the whole you've got it.

@Mike: Ooh, his middle name's Hussein, he must be evil! What a cheap shot.

Look, black people are not separatist or anti-white just because they stand up and tell the truth about centuries of white exploitation. Our present racist/white-guilt society wants to deny that things were ever that bad for blacks, just like it wants to deny Native American/American Indian/First Nation genocide. Just like it wants to deny the continuing racism in this country, which goes beyond whether or not someone would vote for Obama, into such areas as an overwhelmingly disproportionate number of people of color living in poverty or in prison. As one book puts it, while whites have recessions, the rate of unemployed people of color in this country put them into a permanent depression.

And everybody, try to understand: electing the "right" candidate for President will not save this country. Not Ron Paul, not Obama, not Hillary, not McCain, not Kucinich or Gravel. Not Nader or Gore, either.

In order to become ANY kind of contender for Presidential election, a candidate has to espouse a program of business-more-or-less-as usual. Granted, some like Ron Paul have more radical ideas than others, but even he supports the underlying system of corporate-government domination.

People like Ron Paul and Obama think you can reform the system from within, but that means they don't question the system itself, merely the direction it's presently going. Systemic reform is a worthy goal, but at some point, we're going to have to replace the system with something actually democratic, instead of the minimalist democracy we have now. And that's a change no serious Presidential candidate (Democrat or Republican) would ever dream of.

Well, again we see that the Republicans can and do say anything to win an election. I see and hear the same things that these "educated" journalist see and hear, but they come away with what is clearly a bias slant to everything. Screw the truth! Everything is politicized. From Nixon's Watergate to Bush's vote stealing, nothing is decent. Lying is OK if you want to win. Just ask Jesus, He'll give a thumbs up. Most conservatives are religious, not Christian, but religious and that's why they're so easily lead astray but liars. As far as experience, I want the average Joe from the streets to hold Federal offices. Someone who knows what life in the real America is all about, not the slick politicians surrounded by yes-men and suck-ups. We need men like George Washington again. Get elected, STOP partisan fighting, NO lingering debt, STAY out of the affairs of other countries, DO the term and get out and get a real job instead of feeding off of the tax payers for the rest of your life just because you held office for four years. Here lies the problem. ABC news is owned by General Electric who is making shit loads of money off the Iraq war

    http://mrxfromplanetx.com/orwell-rolls-in-his-g...

Colin Powell's son Michael Powell deregulated the media allowing these big corporations buy everything up and have a monopoly on the market. Most likely GE figures Obama might actually try to do some good in the world, so they have turned on him.

The biggest threat we face right now is the elderly voter. They vote more than anyone else, and the corporate controlled media like ABC and Fox is where they get their news from.

We all need to make our parents (I'm almost 40) and our grandparents watch these videos so they know what the hell they are doing.

Young people need to get involved in their local caucuses because the caucuses determine the state delegates. The delegates determine who their party runs for Congress and the Senate. alternativeconservative.com

If we got enough good people into power again (Democrat or Republican), we might be able to get control over the media again. We need to return control of the media to local markets.

A study was done showing how damaging corporate ownership is to local markets and the FCC buried it.

"ABC news is owned by General Electric"

It's an honest mistake, you got your corporate overlords a little mixed up: NBC is owned by General Electric, ABC is owned by Disney, now we can start the discussions on whether the light-bulb is more evil than mickey mouse, plenty of good arguments on each side.

The topic does get complicated, GE is 1 hell of a war profiteer but then turns around & presents the closest things to "liberal" we're allowed to see in the MSM on MSNBC shows like Countdown or Dan Abrams' new fight with Karl Rove over Sigelman (that seems like it's getting personal) or the recent hire of Rachel Maddow. I'm saying it's their ability to play both sides, they've been in this Military-Industrial game from day 1 & that's why they have been turning slightly pro-Obama lately. Hedging their bets will keep the cash flowing no matter what the citizenry does. Murdoch's big gamble was good for a quick massive explosion of popularity but FOX was always going to be completely marginalized eventually barring an actual declaration of martial law & suspension of the constitution.

Another reason why people don't trust what is said in the news. Just because they say something or "report" on a subject it doesn't mean that it is true. They get a lot of facts wrong and many are doctored up.

It's no surprise that most people want to hear what they already believe in, so the fact that Fox is so big in USA only tells to what extend Northamericans are accustomed to manipulate stories for the sake of their viewers/voters. The "media", like politicians, are a race naturally deceitful, but I'm glad there are some looking for an alternative: truth. I saw a comment saying "Fox is right on this one", but as long as Fox and others like it have their bases so rotten, they can never be right, even if they make a good point, which they hardly ever.

Yes, today, after Pennsylvania, the pundits are wondering why Obama cannot seal the nomination deal. It's because millions of REPUBLICANS crossed over to vote for him, not Hillary (Obama won predominately Red states), and to make him the candidate. In Pennsylvania alone, 215,000 Republicans crossed over, who don't intend to vote Democrat in November. So, of course the Republican/Neocon/Foxx/Limbaugh/Hannity slime machine is in full speed to get a jump start on the person THEY REALLY THINK will be the nominee. It's the bait and switch and too many Democrats are falling for it--I smell Karl Rove in the background.

Obama had better stop whinning about the "Hillary Attacks" because, if he's the nominee, he'll have to answer those questions from McCain.

I don't really care who wins the nomination--I'll vote Democrat.

I think the point that Home Skillet is missing about Fox News is that they are presenting falsehoods as facts. A news organization should fact-check any story before it is presented or it is just tabloid journalism, not a news program. News programs are about educating adults by giving them the unvarnished truths, not opinion pieces. Would you want your children educated at school by reading tabloids like the ones in the supermarket or if their history books were written with the factless basis of tabloid stories? How well would they be educated compared to children who read real historically fact-based books? Yet that is what thousands of adults are relying on for the truths they need to make decisions. Getting someone's opinion on national tv is useless if their opinion is not based on truth. As for other large news organizations being liberal, that is hard to believe, as they are owned by huge corporations who obviously are going to protect their own interests. Personally, I like BBC news for an unbiased look at what goes on in our country.
  • Home Skillet · 1 year ago
Lydia, 1) Thank you for letting me know where you're coming from by letting me know you like the BBC for news. Jared, please, for your own sake, stop watching Fox. Maybe you could try reading a book instead? I know, I know, it'll be hard at first. But I know you can do it. You might even learn something factual about race relations in America! How exciting for you.

I love the idea that conservatives think there is a "liberal media bias" any more than there is a "conservative media bias." For every example you can trot out of so-called liberal media there is a counter-example of conservative media. Think BBC has liberal-bias? Well, Fox News has a conservative bias. Think the New York Times is too liberal? Well, the Washington Times is too conservative. Think the Washington Post is liberal? Well the New York Post is insanely conservative...

Do you see where I'm going with this? The problem isn't that there is a liberal bias, or a conservative bias, the problem is that there is any freakin' bias at all! Tell me what these words and phrases have in common: newspaper, nightly news, cable news channel, news agency. If you guessed they all contain the word "news," then you would be correct. And what is the definition of news? From MW: a report of recent events.

A report of recent events. Hmmm, sounds kind of cut and dry to me. You report the events that happened. So what would you call it when a bunch of people sit around discussing things that happened, offering their opinions and/or speculating on future events? I can tell you what it's not called, NEWS. That's right, it's not news. So if you want to have those kinds of programs, they don't belong on a NEWS CHANNEL, now do they? Furthermore, things that are said on those kinds of programs should not be reported as news because they are simply people's opinions. If you want to report on what Hannity said on his show, the headline should read: "Hannity says Obama is baby killer", not "Obama: Baby Killer?"

That's the problem with news in this country. It's not that it's biased, it's that it's NOT NEWS. It's poorly researched sensationalist crap. So let's all stop arguing about the freakin' bias in the media and start demanding that they actually report the news, without any bias at all.

PAIN!!!! I TRIED to watch this whole thing, but like every "BRAVE NEW FILM" I've looked at, it's absolutely idiotic. Who is doing this stuff anyway? The mentally challenged Michael Moore? (If he EVER HAD any brains, I think he ate them).

Reading just a few posts, OBAMA supporters are just upset at an outlet that TELLS THE TRUTH.

In my WILDEST DREAMS I can not fathom why everyone doesn't see a phoney tin horn ambitious liar every time Obama opens his mouth. He's as transparant as glass to me. He CAN NOT speak on the issues without a telepromter and THAT is WHY he won't do Town Halls with McCain.

    A FEW of Obama's FAULTS:
    1) No experience. As a JUNIOR Senator, he has 3 years in the US Senate and 7 years in the Illinois Senate. He's missed 43% of Senate Votes this year.

    2) The GREAT UNITER has NEVER ONCE CROSSED PARTY LINES to create legislation. He has voted WITH his party 96.5% of the time. WHERE is his "reaching across the asile"?? I'll tell you .. WORDS.... JUST WORDS (from his plagerized speech).

    3) You'll love it when he raises your payroll taxes for Social Security AND increases Capital Gains tax from 15 to 28%. You probably won't be thrilled when he increases corporate taxes and your employer responds by either cutting YOUR salary OR cutting your job.

    4) HE HAS NO PLAN FOR NATIONAL SECURITY. Read HIS WEB SITE... under ISSUES. It's NOT THERE! Homeland Security is there... it's NOT THE SAME THING. During Primaries he said he will CUT MILITARY and DEFENSE SPENDING, PARTICULARILY IN THE AREA OF WEAPONS DEVELOPMENT and use that money to fund his SCARY NATIONAL HEALTH CARE plan!
This guy is SOOO JIMMY CARTER that it makes my hair stand on end. The great bumbling Carter who didn't have a clue that National Security IS SUPPOSE TO BE THE MAIN JOB OF THE GOVERNMENT... he had NO CLUE what to do with the Iran Hostage Crisis... he was just, to be very kind here... USELESS!!!!

If you think things are bad today then you weren't trying to buy a house under Carter when the Interest rate on mortgages was 18%!!!!

5)Obama's ENERGY plan will be great....... in 2030 and 2050!! HE HAS NO PLAN TO HELP AMERICANS TODAY. CAN YOU WAIT 22 years for a solution to this problem????? NOT! The energy crisis and the economy are hand in hand. If you think it's bad now....... elect Obama. You'll find out what BAD is!!

    6) JUDGEMENT: He has a lot of judgement.. and it's all bad. In OBAMA's OWN WORDS, from his book, THE AUDACITY OF HOPE...not Wright's words... OBAMA's WORDS..... "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction," . Lovely.
I'm not sure he knows anyone who isn't a terrorist (William Ayers the 70's bomber)... or a Racist (Louis Farrakhan and REV WRight...and HIS WIFE).... or a guy (Rezko) convicted of fraud, bribery, money laundering and real estate scams. I guess his mother never told him that he'd be judged by who his friends were. How many times can he convincingly say "I never saw that.. That's not the (fill in the blank) that I knew". B S! He profited PERSONALLY (by buying property at well under market value from Rezko) and PROFESSIONALLY... Rezko was a money raiser for Obama. GREAT RECOMMENDATION FOR THE HIGHEST OFFICE IN THE LAND!!!!

Oh, he can spin and win it, but the thought of what will happen to this country is beyond depressing. One world. One nation under Obama. The Anti Christ.

All spin, NO SUBSTANCE..... CHANGE... yep.... that's ALL you'll have if he's elected. A few cents worth of CHANGE. Your parents won't have their retirement funds... you probably won't have a job, and you certainly won't have a car or a house so I guess you won't have to worry about fuel for what you don't have!

By the way.... I don't have a horse in this race. The way I see it, there are only Democrats running. McCain, a sane Democrat and then Obama, who is really a Socialist and not a Democrat.

Everyone has an opinion and thats fine but don't you think as people(American at that) were a bit harsh too each other over political views. They(the media and their affiliates)did a great job separating the people, everyone seems to be taking sides and treating people who are supporting the opposition like enemies not rivals. Stop the anger and hatred your just fueling the fire. Together we stand divided we fall.

The sad thing is that FOX gets away with this, and will continue to get away with this sort of garbage because their target audience is so thumpingly ignorant. I mean, for goodness sake, as I write this, there is "Breaking News" on FOX about A-Rod's divorce! If this is all too depressing and you would like to see some good political satire, visit www.obamasecrets.weebly.com.
