FOX Attacks!: Fox News: Al Qaeda is causing the CA wildfires

  • Mark @ News Corpse · 2 years ago
I like the part about the hovering helicopters.

Conspiracy theorists will want to know if the hovering helicopter was black. The rest of us can't stop laughing.

Fox Noise people are warmongering idiots.
  • Grayson · 2 years ago
So how is this wrong at all? One of the fires WAS started by an arsonist. There is a $50,000 reward for information on who the person who did it is. So is starting fires just not Al Qaeda's style? Maybe your just mad because you can't blame it on global warming! Ha, you ultra left wing liberals are so funny!

Democrats, "Do as I say, not as I do."
  • John Ehrenfeld · 2 years ago
Laughing about the fires and misery in California are you Grayson? I'm not surprised. By the way, Global Warming had a great deal to do with these fires. Next time try to be a little bit more informed before you post such an idiot comment.
  • Raziorizzo · 2 years ago
California Highway Patrol did arrest a man seen starting a fire by a helicopter. The funny part is the pathetic, mindless leftwing liberal idiots who are tripping over themselves to get in front of the TV camera to blame Bush ,Iraq, Global warming, not enough National Guard. Truth of the matter is global warming has absolutely nothing to do with it. Californias favorite vegetable, Sen.Barbara Boxer with quickly challenged when she said that there wasn't enough National Guards. Truth of the matter is there are over 15,000 National Guards here in the US that are not needed in California. Boxer later retracted her statement. They look like IDIOTS. Hope they don't stop talking. By the way.............has anyone seen Howard Dean
  • GOPerverts · 2 years ago
Yes, Raz, all those "mindless left wing liberal idiots" blaming Bush. Like the REPUBLICAN Lieutenant Governor of California? Who has now gone on 2 TV shows to blame Bush for sending all their equipment to Iraq and "doing nothing" about Katrina (he's worried they'll do the same in CA...I'll give you odds).

Wingers. So pathetic. Maybe Bush will show up in his flight suit and then you can all well up with tears for a moment and forget about Al Qaeda--so you can stop piddling in the corner in cowering fear...
  • John Ehrenfeld · 2 years ago
It's amazing how uninformed the reactionary right-wing is. The CHP shot and killed him.
  • John Ehrenfeld · 2 years ago
    FACT:
The 2006 wildfire season set new records in both the number of reported fires as well as acres burned. Close to 100,000 fires were reported and nearly 10 million acres burned, 125 percent above the 10-year average.
  • Grayson · 2 years ago
So none of the ultra left wing liberals on this site have answered my question. WHY is it "ridiculous" to think that Al Qaeda could have started the fire that was caused by arson. Let me guess, the ultra left wing liberals are so caught up in their Bush Derangement Syndrome that they actually believe Al Qaeda DOESN'T want to hurt Americans! You guys are RIDICULOUS!

"'FBI: Al-Qaeda Detainee Spoke of Fire Plot.' The FBI alerted law enforcement agencies last month that an al-Qaeda terrorist now in detention had talked of masterminding a plot to set a series of devastating forest fires around the western United States. Rose Davis, a spokeswoman for the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, told The Associated Press that officials there took note of the warning but didn't see a need to act further on it."

    WOW.........How interesting!!!! Read on.....
    This is Harry Reid :

REID: One reason that we have the fires burning in Southern California is global warming. One reason the Colorado basin is going dry is because of global warming.

Hmmmmmmmmmm There was no fires before Bush became President?? Global warming ,not arson, is the cause of fires huh? Interesting.
    After six minutes Reid said....
REID: No. Here's -- here's what... I didn't say the reason the fires were burning in Southern California is global warming.

Yes he did. scroll up read what he said
    there more.............

And of course Californias favorite vegetable ,Lt.Gov.Garmendi, couldn't miss his opportunity to bash President Bush.....
"Well, they're doing a lot, and we appreciate what they have done thus far. I got some doubt about the value of President Bush coming out here. How many times did he go to New York -- to New Orleans -- and still made promises, but hasn't delivered? Okay, President Bush comes out, we'll be polite, but, frankly, that's not the solution. How about sending our National Guard back from Iraq so that we have those people available here to help us?"

Lets throw the National Guards with AK-47's in front of the flames and have them halt the fire!!! THATS IT!!! "FREEZE FLAMES!!"

They are trying their best but keep ending up looking like idiots!!! Tomorrow Bush is going to tour the site and shove it in their face. GOD!!! Are leftwing liberal democrats really THAT stupid????
  • John Ehrenfeld · 2 years ago
It's ridiculous becuase there is no evidence of it, no facts, no proof. It is ridiculous because there is no evidence of any significant Al Qaida activity at all in the United States. It is ridiculous because there is no war on terror. It is ridiculous because 3,000 dead Americans killed by politically motivated criminals 6 years ago does not mean there is a war on terror.

Global warming brings warmer temperatures also increasing the probability of drought. Greater evaporation, particularly during the summer and fall, exacerbates drought conditions and INCREASES THE RISK AND SEVERITY OF WILDFIRES!

Greater evaporation as a result of global warming
increases the risk of wildfires. The 1999-2002 national drought was one of the three most extensive droughts in the last 40 years

Global warming has probably lead to the increased drought frequency that the West has experienced over the last 30 years.
  • Raziorizzo · 2 years ago
YOUR RIGHT!!!! The war is a bumper sticker!!!Thats why CNN , MSNBC and other news outlets failed to even metion President Bush honoring a fallen soildiers family with the medal of honor. Because they can't show something good. They hatethe fact that deaths in Iraq is down. They hate the fact that violence is down in Iraq, they just throw out the line "We support our troops" and pretend that takes care of everything. You are so pathetic. Ever notice that Brave New Films is neither? How can plagiarizing someone else’s work be described as brave or new? Very misleading isn’t it?

The reality is that this site wouldn’t exist but for the paranoia of its creators and regressives who scream for the return of the Fairness Doctrine. They can’t imagine that tens of millions of people listen to Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage voluntarily. They think ‘fairness’ is forcing the stations that broadcast them to give equal time to their point of view. Why don’t they come up with something people want to hear and would tune in voluntarily to listen to? That’s easy, just read their flawed logic, hatred for America, anti-capitalism, unpatriotic rhetoric here. Now, do you want to hear that on the radio too? They are true regressives in wanting to turn back to the “Fairness” Doctrine of the 1930s.

Another reality is that Fox News is at the top of the televised news networks (and satellite radio as well). Try as they may, this site can do nothing to change that. Have you ever seen anything on here that would persuade you to switch to CNN or NBC? The alternative news sources are rarely flouted here because their socialist views (and downright lies) are too easily exposed for what they are: Leftist propaganda.

Another noble Hannity-like try to stiffle disent. Not going to work anymore and come November 7th, 2008 you will pay the piper. In the meantime feel free to rant incoherently.

No one is making political hay from the wildfires, facts are being presented and it's just too bad you don't like it. Some fire chiefs and elected officials said that they were angry with the state government for not adopting recommendations made by a panel after the fires in 2003, in particular those that called for more firefighting equipment.

“There were a lot of calls for equipment and resources,” said Assemblyman Todd Spitzer, who represents a district in Orange County. “When you have a finite amount of resources, you have to prioritize life and property first, and so we didn’t get water dropping until we started to lose structures.”

It's also typical of the reactionary, right-wing global warming deniers to attempt to attack the nessenger. Again, not going to work anymore! Global warming is real and the 2006 wildfire season set new records in both the number of reported fires as well as acres burned. Close to 100,000 fires were reported and nearly 10 million acres burned, 125 percent above the 10-year average.

Yes arson fires are affected adversely by global warming. No rain, severe draught, early snow-pack melt - climatic explanations prove that increasing variability in moisture conditions (wet/dry oscillations promoting biomass growth, then burning), and/or a trend of increasing drought frequency, and/or warming temperatures have led to increased wildfire activity.
  • Grayson · 2 years ago
JOHN PROVEN COMPLETELY WRONG BY THE LIBERAL LA TIMES!!

Global warming not a factor in wildfires

Southern California has long been plagued by wind and drought, but climate change may make for a drier future, scientists say.
By Alan Zarembo, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
    October 25, 2007

Are the massive fires burning across Southern California a product of global warming?

Scientists said it would be difficult to make that case, given the dangerous mix of drought and wind that has plagued the region for centuries or more.

But they said the extreme conditions that stoked the wildfires could become more common as the world warms.

Research suggests that rising temperatures are already increasing fire damage in many parts of the West.

In a study published last year in the journal Science, researchers looking at Western federal forests found nearly seven times more land burned from 1987 to 2003 than in the previous 17 years.

The analysis mainly attributed this to a 1.5-degree rise in average spring and summer temperatures. With spring arriving earlier and snow melting faster, the forests dried out sooner, extending the average fire season by more than two months.

The study, however, found Southern California was different from the rest of the West, with no increase in the frequency of fire as temperatures rose.

"In Southern California, it's hot and dry much of the year," said Anthony Westerling, a climate scientist at UC Merced and the study's lead author. In other words, Southern California was already perfect for fire.

"That is a fire-prone environment regardless of whether we are in a climate-change scenario," said Tom Wordell, a wildfire analyst at the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho. "I don't want to be callous, because many people are homeless and suffering, but if you live in a snake pit, you're going to get bit."

But eventually global warming could make Southern California's occasional droughts more persistent, exacerbating the fire danger.

Conditions as dry as the Dust Bowl of the 1930s could prevail in the Southwest by the middle of this century, according to a study published this year in Science.

The researchers based their conclusion on climate models showing how warmer temperatures would expand the reach of a powerful atmospheric circulation pattern known as the Hadley cell. Changes to the cell would dry air through the subtropics, including a swath from Colorado to California.

The study suggested that the transformation may already be underway. The Southwestern United States has been in drought since 2000, although tree-ring records show there have been far drier periods during the last millennium.

Scientists said more persistent drought would inevitably lead to more fires, as long as intermittent periods of moisture allowed vegetation to grow as fodder for flames.

In Southern California, hillsides were ripe for fire because big rains two years ago allowed vegetation to flourish, then severe drought during the last year dried it out.

The future of the Santa Ana winds is harder to predict.

Norman Miller, a climate scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories, published an analysis last year in Geophysical Research Letters predicting that rising temperatures, fueled by greenhouse gas emissions, would eventually push peak Santa Ana winds from mid-October to late November.

That could, over decades, make fires worse by giving the landscape more time to dry out. Global warming, he said, could intensify wind flow by increasing the difference between inland and coastal temperatures.

The Santa Ana winds form when high-pressure air in the Great Basin, between the Rocky Mountains and the Sierra Nevada, rushes toward the low pressure of the coastlands. As the air descends, it heats up, gaining speed as it is forced through narrow canyons.

The winds, which typically gust to 45 mph, were recorded at more than 80 mph several times this week -- strong but inside the range of normal variability.

The horrific fires in California are yet another stark reminder that action is needed to combat global warming now. Steven Running of Science Magazine says,

"No one can realistically blame any given wildfire on climate change, but there is little doubt that global warming is causing more fires that are more severe. Even fires set by arsonists would not turn into deadly infernos were it not for early snow-pack melting and severe drought conditions."
  • John Ehrenfeld · 2 years ago
Sorry to bust your right-wing, Bush hugging bubble. As firefighters continue to risk their lives battling the inferno in southern California, evidence is growing that the Bush administration is not adequately prepared to support them.

In a June report, the GAO report faulted the U.S. Forest Service, Department of Agriculture, and other agencies for failing to accomplish the "fundamental step" of planning out what assets and resources were needed to prepare for approaching fire seasons. Meanwhile, disaster response problems that have become all too familiar in recent years were also identified: administration officials placing resources where they were politically expedient, and using poorly performing contractors to accomplish critical national tasks.

Want evidence? Read the Orange County Register this morning!
  • John Ehrenfeld · 2 years ago
The Bush administration prevented the use of more DC-10 airplanes to drop flame retardant on areas that were on fire.

"It would be nice to have more such planes available, don't you think?" an editorial in the paper asked. "If the federal government had had its way, even this one almost certainly wouldn't be flying this week....One can understand a certain amount of caution from the Forest Service, but this is bureaucratic overkill."

Robin Nazarro, the Director of GAO's Natural Resources and Environment program, told the Huffington Post why the Forest Service's planning has been inadequate.

"If you don't have goals and strategies for carrying them out, you're in a reactive mode rather than a proactive mode," the report's lead author said. "They say they are using 5 to 10 year averages, but each year the fires gets worse, so they're always underestimating what they need."

The report shows that the Bush administration was warned that the approximately $3 billion spent each year on fire prevention and suppression was not being used appropriately.

"Agencies have not yet improved their systems for determining the appropriate type and quantity of firefighting assets needed for the fire season or for effectively and efficiently procuring them," the GAO states.

The bad planning by the agencies even raised red flags in the White House, where the report's authors say that the President's Office of Management and Budget "told us they would not allow the firefighting agencies to publish long-term funding estimates until the agencies had sufficiently reliable data on which to base those estimates."

John Ehrenfeld has on numerous occasions vomited his usual regressive filth against the US military and has cited reports attributed to Army Private Beauchamp known for his 'Shock Troops' writings that troops committed atrocities. Beauchamp has now been exposed as a liar and stands tall alongside his champion, John Ehrenfeld.
SHOCK DOCS: THE NEW REPUBLIC 'SHOCK TROOPS' STORY COLLAPSES
    WED Oct 24 2007 12:29:44 ET

The DRUDGE REPORT has optained internal documents from the investigation of THE NEW REPUBLIC'S "Baghdad Diarist", Scott Thomas Beauchamp, an Army private turned war correspondent who reported tales of military malfeasance from the Iraq War front.

The documents appear to expose that once the veracity of Beauchamp's diaries were called into question, and an Army investigation ensued, THE NEW REPUBLIC has failed to publicly account for publishing slanderous falsehoods about the U.S. military in a time of war.

Document 1: Beauchamp Refuses to Stand by Story (Beauchamp Transcript Part 1)

THE NEW REPUBLIC has been standing behind the stories from their Baghdad Diarist, Scott Thomas Beauchamp, since questions were first raised about their accuracy over the summer. On August 10, the editors at TNR accused the Army of "stonewalling" their investigation into the stories by preventing them from speaking with Beauchamp. The DRUDGE REPORT has since obtained the transcript of a September 7 call between TNR editor Frank Foer, TNR executive editor Peter Scoblic, and Private Beauchamp. During the call, Beauchamp declines to stand by his stories, telling his editors that "I just want it to end. I'm not going to talk to anyone about anything really." The editors respond that "we just can't, in good conscience, continue to defend the piece" without an explanation, but Beauchamp responds only that he "doesn't care what the public thinks." The editors then ask Beauchamp to cancel scheduled interviews with the WASHINGTON POST and NEWSWEEK.

Document 2: Beauchamp Admits to "Gross Exaggerations and Inaccurate Allegations" (Beauchamp Transcript Part 2)

The DRUDGE REPORT has also obtained a signed "Memorandum for Record" in which Beauchamp recants his stories and concedes the facts of the Army's investigation -- that his stories contained "gross exaggerations and inaccurate allegations of misconduct" by his fellow soldiers.

Document 3: Army Investigation: Tales "Completely Fabricated," Beauchamp Wanted to be Hemingway

The third document obtained by the DRUDGE REPORT is the Army's official report on the investigation into the allegations made by Private Beauchamp. The Army concluded that Beauchamp had "completely fabricated" the story of mocking a disfigured woman, that his description of a "Saddam-era dumping ground" was false, and that claims that he and his men had deliberately targeted dogs with their armored vehicles was "completely unfounded." Further the report stated "that Private Beauchamp desired to use his experiences to enhance his writing and provide legitimacy to his work possibly becoming the next Hemingway."

The report concludes that "Private Beauchamp takes small bits of truth and twists and exaggerates them into fictional accounts that he puts forth as the whole truth for public consumption."

Unfortunately and this will I am sure make any meaningful discourse between you and I impossible; I believe that Rush Limbaugh is not even worthy of being called a human being. I believe the record shows quite clearly he is a racist and an immoral piece of garbage whose views encourage death, suffering and injustice.

It also matters not how many people listen to or watch Rush and FOX. Since when was there an equivalency between quantity and quality? The food at a buffet usually sucks. Millions of people also watch Pro Wrestling and Reality TV.

"Private Beauchamp takes small bits of truth and twists and exaggerates them into fictional accounts that he puts forth as the whole truth for public consumption."

Replace Pvt Beauchamp above with BNF/John Ehrenfeld and it is a perfect description of this site!

Ehrenfeld: "It also matters not how many people listen to or watch Rush and FOX."

So, is this site closing up? Now that it doesn't matter, why keep up your useless rhetoric?
  • Duh! · 2 years ago
Good point sgtmaj. The sole purpose of BNF is to thrash Fox News, and now it "matters not?" Eherenfeld is finally truthful and his handlers will probably be pissed he has admitted BNF is a useless cause.
  • John Ehrenfeld · 2 years ago
The reactionary right-wing kool-aid drinkers are consistently posting statistics on the numbers of FOX Noise viewers. It's clear that those prove nothing as I pointed out.

However, since FOX pretends to be an un-biased News organization, which they clearly are not, we will continue along with many others to point out their lies and distortions.

We reach almost a million viwers a month. Enjoy the site!

Leave it to the far Left to once again demonstrate their double standard when it comes to proper behavior and common decency. They go on and on about how conservatives are "mean" (oh no!) or how conservatives are heartless (gasp!). But when one is looking for examples of how not to behave, or an example of ill manners, crudeness, and just plain "no class," all one has to do is look at a far Left protest group.

In this case, I'm talking about the recent protest by fringe group Code Pink in which five members of the group were arrested and one confronted Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice with blood-colored hands. It's one thing to want to get your message out, but the far Left has no boundaries or standards when it comes to civility.

Precisely, and well said. Numbers don't count according to Ehrenfeld and that is so laughable. The numbers don't count for regressives when it shows they are an ineffective mob of cry baby socialist puppets who haven't gotten their way.
  • Jim Wolf · 2 years ago
Two Faced, thats a rather appropiate name for you, lets talk about the "standards" that the wingnuts used when they went after Grame Frost during the SCHIP debate.
Lets talk about a lack of civility when Michelle Malkin and her ilk went about trying to destroy this kid and his family.
Lets talk about the new low that you people set when this was done. Once again, since the right can't or won't speak to the issue and the facts surronding it they resort to the only thing they have left to work with and that is the Politics of Personal Destruction.
Your screen name says it all Two Faced.

    "...right-wing kool-aid drinkers..."

Speaking of numbers, Kool-Aid sales are exploding. But Ehrenfeld probably won't like that.
  • John Ehrenfeld · 2 years ago
LOL Grayson you are amusing as always. First, we know that most of the posts here are from the same troll. Secondly, I wear the attacks like a badge of honor, I could not be more proud. It validates everything I believe in and you and I both know that the overwhelming factual evidence I have presented is irrefutable; hence the personal attacks. Keep it up I enjoy it immensely!

Well said Jim. Rice has the blood of a million deaths on her hands; we can all see it, all the time. Their hypocrisy is stunning.
  • lauging out loud · 2 years ago
    Yes Jim
You guys on the left make two faced and the rest of the right seem like choir boys

As for Schips-it was a lot of bull ships given the fact he was already elegible new or old plan for the program--but lets not speak of using a 12 year old for poltical points

    Asshole
  • Jim Wolf · 2 years ago
Thats an excellent response LOL. I couldn't have asked for better evidence of what I wrote about in my last post. Keep it up.
  • LOL · 2 years ago
I plan to jimmy old libby--you people are dnagerous and I will counter every idiot liberal post you toss up--you think its ok to use a 12 year old as a foot ball? Go for it I'll debate any one of your socialist points 1 on 1
  • Observer · 2 years ago
I have to laugh reding Jim's response to 2 faced about ill mannered people and pointing out Gramme Frost-the political 12 year old foot ball--
You have the NERVE to talk about right winger when the looney hollywood left consitantly trashes this country, its leaders -- but that's ok, they get a pass--its ok for Harry (national embarrassment) Reid announces we have lost the war while soldiers are fighting a war---but that's ok--its fine for the left to constantly put down the USA anytime anywhere and you , my freind, give em a pass.

The right may do some stupid things but there minor leaguers compared to you guys
  • this site rocks · 2 years ago
i can't believe all the stupid bickering that goes on on this site. don't you guys have something better to do? honestly? it's so much easier to fight through the interwebs though, isn't it.

    ha ha
  • Souldrift · 2 years ago
    Hey "this site rocks,"

The first step to countering total bullcrap is knowing that it's out there. That's what this site does, and I for one am thankful for it.

Do you support Fox "News" and their phony allegations and suggestions? If so, that makes one of us.
  • BC · 2 years ago
MY GOD! How STUPID can people get? Al Queda? Puleeeze. Arson, I can believe, but Al Queda? Give me a break.
  • Grayson · 2 years ago
Yeah I know BC! Al Qaeda! Thats just Ridiculous! They would NEVER try to hurt Americans, they LOVE us! Wait a second, haven't they been responsible for many terrorist attacks... oh wait, nevermind. Yeah that's right, Al Qaeda LOVES Americans!

Democrats, "Do as I say, not as I do."
  • John Ehrenfeld · 2 years ago
Aww, poor little Grayson is afraid of the criminals with box-cutters who committed a horrific criminal act on the watch of Giuliani and Bush six years ago. He loves to live in fear; to pretend there is a war on terror which doesn't exist. He thinks 3,000 deaths six years ago justifies the deaths of almost one million Iraqis. Ohhh wait! Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11. Crap, it's hard justifying the lunacy of that moron war criminal in the White House isn't it!
  • GOPerverts · 2 years ago
Run and hide little Grayson, run and hide! OMG lightning might strike!

Republicans are such pussies it's hysterical. What happened on 9/11 was a tragedy and it was horrible. But little cowards like Grayson piddle themselves constantly worrying about terrorist attacks, when they're about 10,000 more likely to be in a car crash.

Statistically there is more chance you'll have sex with Larry Craig, Grayson, than be the victim of terrorists. And maybe, just maybe, the chances of an attack would be even less had the Decider not decided to let him go at Tora Bora in 2002 or disband the unit tracking Al Qaeda in 2005, to use two examples (sorry, I know you guys hate when anyone uses facts).

But wook and, theyww coming, run and cwy under da bed!

Now Grayson and his friends at Fox cwy wike wittle babies over an FBI report that Al Qaeda might start a fire. From 2003! In Wyoming, and other interior states, NOT California.

Look out poor little Grayson, I hear next time instead of starting a fire they're going to come dressed as the Tooth Fairy! Or maybe bring toasters to throw at you while you're taking a bath! Or put snakes on a plane!

    Hysterical
  • John Ehrenfeld · 2 years ago
False Al Qaeda story was based on a runor circulated by a reporter in Phoenix in 2003! Rose Davis, a spokeswoman for the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, told The Associated Press that officials there took note of the warning but didn’t see a need to act further on it.

Polite talk for IT WAS BULLSHIT!!!

Steve Doocy FOX Noise idiot acknowledged that in memo, California wasn't even mentioned!. ‘They mention Colorado, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming,’ he added.”

I never expect Ehrenfeld (AKA GOPerverts) to hold an intelligent discourse in response to any posting and I am never disappointed.

Definition of a RIGHT-WING TROLL on BNF.

A RIGHT-WING TROLL’S main goal on BNF is only to arouse anger and frustration among the other participants, and will write whatever it takes to achieve this end. The TROLL takes what it knows to be a badly flawed, wholly illogical argument, (such as denying global warming and defending Bush) and then vigorously defends them while mocking and insulting the logical, more well0informed progressive. The TROLL looks like a complete fool, but this is all part of the plan. Provoking anger was the TROLL’S one and only goal from the very beginning. The TROLL is however exposed and ridiculed by their own actions.
  • Unknow · 2 years ago
I heard more stupid things but these takes the cake, let me ask you? how do we know if is really a Al Qaeda starting a fire not some aggronat person, who knows we meant not find out. But i will tell you this, why did the man said 5 days ago instead of 3 days. And how the FBI know this fire was caused by man?

Randi Rhodes has suggested that blackwater started the fires, but she spent some time on it as opposed to this 5 second clip. How she fits all this brialliant social commentary into her busy schedule of vodka binges and muggings by imaginary right-wing boogeymen is beyond me.
