I stopped watching the Fox news a long time ago. I felt there comments were disrespectful and the way they presented the news was totally unprofessional. I feel all news stations point out the worst in african americans and latino's.

I'm very interested in getting fox news kicked off the t.v. channels at the veterans hospitals. Nothing upsets me more than hearing their propaganda while I'm there to get a medical checkup, or have my heart examined. What can be done about this?

I am scratching my head how Fox can be considered racist?? That is the best u can come up with? Why is it that the asian community doesnt have the problems that the black community has? Because they dont blame everyone for there problems, they preach personal responsibility, and they dont have so called "leaders" out in there communities telling them them to blame the white man for all their problems and blame everything on racism. The asian community doesnt depend on others or blame others. Sorry there is very little personal responsibilityin the black comminity. Just ask Larry Elder and Bill Cosby. But I guess there considered uncle toms like Condi Rice and General Powell. Preach hard work, personal responsibility, and that the only thing holding yourself back is yourself - but then again if u do teach these life rules you would have less "victims"

I am totally in agreement with the things that Fox airs and if all the blacks would open their eyes and forget the poor me victim mentallity, they would be much better off in our society that has very little white racism. The largest majority of racism is from blacks that want every thing given to them for free. Like the bible says, you don't work you don't eat!!!!! And by the way, I am a black American so I think I have a pretty good handle on the situation!!! I live in the same world that every one else lives in and because I work and do not feel that anyone owes me anythying, I never have any whites show racism to me.

I understand that Fox network isn't doing the right thing by slandering African Americans, but we (I'm a mixed male African/Caucasian) need to stop pointing the fingers and get to work... There are people right now, in Atlanta, Ga. Where I live who are buying/selling drugs in our neighborhood... There are women who are pregnant and are shooting up heroin in the middle of the street... I've seen people die, I've seen people get beat up, and I'm asked almost everyday for money from someone who is so dependent on drugs/alcohol that they can't escape the hell that they are in... Clinton, Obama, Biden, Dodd, Edwards, Hunter, Brownback, McCain, Paul, Romney, it doesn't matter! Get someone in there that is going to get their hands dirty and help clean this country up! You can not deny that people are dying over seas, you can not deny that white/black/asians/latinos/etc. Are dying over here. You can't deny that there are people with billions of dollars out there, who can help the poverty in our homeland, but they don't... It only takes one person to start a change... I'm not a millionare or anything, but I'm going to do what I can... I'm going to offer ANYONE who really wants help a place to stay in my little apartment, and I'm going to feed them even if it means that I don't get food myself... Fox isn't going to help get black people in order again... It's going to take god, time, and great people to fix this change... My grandad was caucasian and my grandmother is black. I live around white people, and alot of my friends are white. Several months ago I was walking into work with my briefcase and a group of young white males were staring at me, as I approached the door one of them out yelled "What you stealing, nigger?!" They all began to laugh and the gentleman raised his arms out and said "What?!" As though he wanted to physically fight me. I was heart broken because I've heard stories of racism still existing but all these years I've been in disbelief. "Black people are corrupted, black people are criminals, they have alot of kids, they're on welfare, and they're ignorant." Not all of us are. I am ONE descent black woman and I know many more. I've never heard of methinfedimine, heroin, zanex, and etc, I learned all that from white people and I remain 100% drug free. I dont judge a white people for the actions of another white person. Every individual is accountable for their own actions. While I'm on the elevator, dont grab your purse or prevent your kids from speaking to me because I am ONE DESCENT, EDUCATED, BLESSED black woman at the age of 27.
Let us, as people, begin to love each other. Disregard the fact that you are white and he is black. We are all God's creation. How could you call yourself the seed of Christ when there is so much hatred in your heart? People will be people, "men are egotistically jerks, women are materialistical b@#$%@#" I've heard 'em all. Read the above statement from Nick and it puts the issue into a much more personal context. Living in a poor black community isn't easy, and getting out seems damn near impossible. So when Fox news and the Republican party frames the issue as a matter of not trying hard enough or the black community blaming the system it really takes the issue out of perspective. Nobody should have to grow up in a neighborhood overrun by drugs and violence. Everybody deserves a bare minimum of neccesity (food, shelter, safety) and easy access to upward mobility (quality affordable education, job oppurtunity). Of course personal accountabilty is a good thing, but it won't change the abyssmal living conditions many poor Americans are trapped in. My point is simple the Republican idealogy/policy isn't condusive to the egalitarianism that America is supposed to stand for. They hide this fact by misrepresenting and slandering the Democratic Party and the minority groups that they are trying to protect. The accusation is that Fox News is a large part of this problem, which if you open your eyes is easy to see.

It is good to see the propaganda machine is alive and well in some parts of the black community. This video plays to those who have the proverbial race chip on their shoulder. I fell for these individuals because life must be horrible waiting on some one to offend them racially. Please hire someone from China to smoothly put together this piece of garbage. Every piece I have seen on Fox and did not see any attack on the black community. Finally can legitimate questions be asked about black situation without the are you a racist for asking the questions angle being thown out. After reading the previous comments it seems as if the point has been lost, I thought the debate was about FOX news' slanted reporting of black news as well as understanding the black plight in general. As a 23yr old black male i have gone through being discrminated against by police, employers, etc, and to me its whats to be expected. If you are not black, a black male more specific, you can never know what its like, especially since the mojority of us are not born into wealthy families. Now we can debate all day how blacks can take these obstacles and turn them around through hard work and determination, because no one is gonna do it for us and thats for damn sure, which is what i am doing myself and it seems that just venting our frustration constitutes blaming "the white man", or not wanting to take responsibility. Some blacks will always simply try to use excuses but i dont speak for them and they feed the stereotype. Now as for FOX, as the clips show, it seems that they seek out and find blacks that will agree with their point of view, even those that are supposed to have opposing view points either dont or it is so weak it gives the appearance that their point is incorrect one. They exploit the few blacks they get to agree with them and i feel a lot of these people are uncle toms because they help keep blacks down, making it seem like we are not trying hard enough or we should just change the way we think, I really only watch for their hypocracy because they are not a credible news outlet but i dont think they try to be, so i cant be mad at that, you have to simply take them as they are, and hey if they paid me enough, i'd go on their as one of their tokens too

Sure thing Pat. Some of us can watch and listen to FOX and realize that there may be some right wing spin. But what about those who claim that the only truth comes form organizations like MoveOn.org? Can they not see that MoveOn is also doing the same thing only from the left wing, er, liberal, umm, I mean Progressive side? Whatever progressive means!! We all need to get our information from many sources and make the best judgement possible based on what has been given us. Be wary of any and all newsclips and sound bites, as they can be edited for advocacy or attack.

Here's an idea: No 'leftist,' so-called, wants to silence the 'right's' voice. However, if you consider yourself to be a 'fair and honest' journalistic entity, or at least tell people that you are, it is your responsibility to remove bias as much as possible. Regardless of what they are saying about blacks/etc, they are neither fair nor honest. They are absurdly one-sided. No one wants them silenced, but they should come out and admit that they are one-sided instead of pretending to be fair. They are not fair on any issue, regardless of the truth of what they show. That REALLY isn't the issue. The issue is running a news network without bias, and they fail at that. Face THAT. Fuck the issues. They're liars and hypocrites. It's ok to have an opinion, but to lie and disguise that opinion as fact is a crime.

Here here Lex... Moveon.org ADMITS to being a left wing Organization. They do not have a TV network with the word NEWS in the name. I'm talking about the people who watch news 10 minutes a day, and they think FOX IS "fair and balanced" because... "gee wiz it says it in the name, so it must be." I know what moveon.org is doing as well as you do, but if we're on this website then chances are we are slightly more engaged than 75% of the rest out there. I hate to say it, but you know what I mean: We're talking about the cattle (that's right - I said it) that can't see what is going on here, and have never even heard the word "spin." Unfortunately that's a helluvalot of people.

It's unfortunate that the comments of John McWorther are used in this slated montage about the "attacking" of "Black America". McWorther has written several well researched books on the state of blacks in this country and calls to light the culture of self-victimization many blacks foister upon themselves and others. If the messages heard by some black leaders and institutions were repeated by non-blacks (i.e. "white churches" supporting the "white culture and all things white"), the media would have a field day.
Face it: a huge double-standard exisits in this country between what white people are "allowed" to say and what blacks regularly say. Wanna solve the racial problems and tensions in this country? Then BOTH sides need to just shut up about it. Confront the blantant bigotry and hatred vigorously when encountered, but leave every other trivial issue alone.

I personally do not agree with what Fox News does. It does help spred and fan the flames of fear and descrimination. I stopped watching Fox News back when the whole war on terror started. All I saw on there was how horrible Muslims are and how they all want to destroy America the 'land of the the free'. I feel the reason that they do this is not because they're racist (they may be but that is not the main reason) but it is for profit. The more they fuel peoples fears of what is different and unknown, the more people will buy into what they're saying.
I live in the middle of Wyoming and I see descrimination every day. Even if I am a white girl, I still have to deal with it all the time because of the fact that I'm pagan and bisexual. If you are not white, straight and a conservative christian, then you are no longer human and open game. I work with a gay kid who got expelled from school because some girl didn't like the fact that he was gay and caused a bunch of problems. Now he has to drive over half and hour to go to school and his adoptive family has kicked him out of the house before he's even graduated from high school. He's only a junior. I have friends that are native american, and they mostly dropped out of high school because of the teachers harassing them and treating them like they are not worth anything.
I can't stand any type of descrimination, least of all from a national company that is using to fatten their wallets. I have no respect for people like that. They should be using their influence to promote tolerance, not the other way around.

I have lived in the inner city and the burbs.....There really is no difference in terms of drugs like you fools mention. There are drugs and guns everywhere. It just so happens brown people may go out and sell the drugs in the street or corner or wherever and in the burbs those drugs are kept in the house for the neighborhood to come buy, so it is kept closed in a little more...........................................
As for the black community, you can't say the black community as a whole like you do. You are generalizing a entire group of people which you cannot do and fox does that. Fox has no truth and they are not a news organization. They just spew things from the far right, that is not news just opinion from one side.
Again, don't compare your plight to that of people that have come further than any other people on this earth in the US. I Don't remember you being brought here on slave ships chained up, your families split up or killed, your faith taken from you, your history beaten out of you, your language beaten out of you and not allowed to educate yourself in terms of the new system nor own anything and participate in society.
As for people in general, there are poor people of all ethnic backgrounds and people that are lazy and out of work in all backgrounds..........
Furthermore, every job that I have worked at since i have been in high school which is 12 years now, the hardest workers have been people that have brown skin, people not showing up and sitting around and doing nothing were white..........So lets stop with all the generalizations about peoples b/c of some people in your neighborhood or where you live.

Hmm. The more vile and racist the mainstream media get, the more it means that the people are waking up. The mainstream media (a pillar of the establishment) are getting increasingly desperate in their attempts to produce a large number of right-wing backward thinkers to counter the ever-growing anti-war left-wing intelligent section of the country.
The same is happening over here in the UK. The headlines in the daily tabloids are growing more and more Nazi-like towards Muslims and asylum seekers and there is a relentless stream of barrel-scraping headlines scapegoating these two groups (recent example from the Daily Express: "MUSLIMS TRY TO TELL US HOW TO RUN OUR SCHOOLS" - I'm not joking).
It is no exaggeration to say that Muslims are receiving the same treatment from the British press that Jewish people were receiving in the 1930s. (Jonathan Freedland, journalist from the Guardian recently said that if the current onslaught over Muslims in the media were about Jews he would seriously consider leaving the country.)
The UK media is even treating the far-right white supremacist party the BNP (British National Party) as 'normal' these days - it was not the 'done thing' to mention them up until a couple years ago. But in the weeks leading up to the 2005 general election the media suddenly went into a frenzy in covering their election campaign and this resulted in them doing better than they had ever done before.
But again, the reason is because the establishment are trying to counter the threat from left-wing radicals who are by far the majority of political thinkers in this country. (The left's downfall of course is that they are not united in their strategies of how best to move forward.)
Just look at the demonstrations in the US and the UK over recent years - literally millions of people have been mobilised over issues of supporting immigrants and a woman's right to choose and opposing war and racism. Such displays of people power are very scary to the status quo, the main reason that these demonstrations are played down or outright ignored.
The powers-that-be would have you believe that people are 'split' on issues such as Iraq and the bogus 'war on terror' but that is not the case. The real divide here is between people and government - pro-war 'activists' are but a tiny minority.
People are more politicised today than perhaps ever before in recent history and politicians and the powerful elements that control the media are running scared.

Craig Luther, you should try looking those words up sometime. No one is trying to get Fox off the air. No one is trying to remove Sean Hannity or BillO. On the contrary, it's the employees of Fox News who are trying to get Olbermann, Rosie, and anyone else who doesn't run in fear from their juvenile rants off the air. Liberals are quite 'tolerant' of 'diverse' views, and having the 'choice' of avoiding news outlets that exist to slime everything you do is the opposite of 'tolitarian.'

I also agree that the MAJORITY are smart free thinking individuals that are working daily and are not as they are painted by "fox news."
Even though there are some good police officers, we live in a world where they have complete power sometimes and I have personally witnessed racism from such institutional systems that are basically build on pro racist thinking But as each year passes we are growing stronger and taking the power away from such systems to stop such hateful attacks as "anti-terror" pro Nazi "investigations" and I am happy people of ALL color are working together against such racist parties as the conservatives, BNP and republicans!

The mass media has spun its web and caught its consumers directly after the hits of 9/11. Popular news outlets including Fox, CBS, NBC and others have all actively misled the public into believing that Iraq was a direct threat to the world with of course the help of the administration. Was it not clear the second we sent our women and men into Iraq that they did not possess any such weapons of mass destruction? Did it also not occur to you that the "terrorists" who were apart in the 9/11 attacks were mostly Saudi's?
Mainstream news outlets have been falsely portraying a killer war into something of a victory. Where is the victory? Who really has won this war of terror? The facts are the facts. Rupert Murdock and his monopolies on media outlets have done a great job of silencing "the other side" and spreading its propaganda through your living room. The other mainstream media outlets are no better, directly following suit without question when Fox claimed Bush Jr. the new President of the United States in 2001.
It is our right as United States citizens to know the truth about our world and what our government has been up to. Question and fight against the corrupt media because if we do not, then we will be forced to digest another Bush into presidency. From what we have learned, the media and politics go hand in hand. people don't you see, this is not a left/right wing issue so much as an issue about humanity. The media continues to foster negative attitudes about minorities (not just African Americans, but many different minorities). When the media does this it is giving people a way to justify their attitudes and make sweeping generalizations about an entire race based on news reports of one or two people or areas. As an added bonus he gives his employees an opportunity to make LOTS of money. Does anyone know of a commentator on FoxNews that hasn't written a book. Fox invents situations they call NEWS then capitalizes on them through the sheep they pander to by selling them propaganda in the form of books.
As an agnostic I sometimes hope there is a God and hell. Then I'd LOVE to be there when the creator asks these FoxNews lovers to explain the deaths of the innocent Iraqis they endorsed, the suicides of gays they felt obligated to keep from their right to the pursuit of happiness and the others their hate has hurt. I'd LOVE to see the look on God's face as they spewed the talking points, "Well, we were fighting them over there so we wouldn't have to fight them here" or "The bible says gays shouldn't marry. YOU God, created something vile that WE had to stop!" Can't you just see God with his lip quivering spewing the bile that comes from Ann Coulter's pie hole? Hmmm maybe not.

FOX News, if you recall, was started by Republican Spin Doctor Roger Ailles. Ailles was the late President Nixon's Karl Rove. Both AIlles and Rove do not want objectivity and fairness to thrive in America. Ailles was partially responsible for the death of the Fairness Doctrine, which opened the door for such nimrods as Rush Limbaugh to fill the airwaves. Fox tells lies and lemmings who suck up TV news as fact run with it. I do not watch FOX news. It is an abomination on society and the world.

Some of these comments are hysterical!!! The left is blamed for being biased, yet none of the conservatives posting here can really see how one sided Fox is. Leeza used their slogan "Fair and Balanced." What a joke. And NO - its not that liberals can't stand it when someone doesn't agree with them. Disagree all you want - but to call opinions news, to cut people off who you chose to interview when they don't agree with you, to tell blatant LIES, to "accidentally" call Obama "Osama," etc., etc., etc., IS NOT FAIR AND BALANCED!!! When the hell do they "show both sides"??? Bill O'Reilly does interview people who don't agree with them, and then he belittles them, yells at them, cuts them off, and completely refuses to allow them to make a point. So, I made a sacrifice today for BraveNew, and humanity, and watched Bill O'Reilly in order to take down the names of advertisers. And what a funny experience it was. I mean, how does one boycott The Elvis Lives Collection? Can I pull my consumer dollar vote from The Village, Florida's Most Popular Retirement Community? Cracked me right up.
Seriously, though, I think it's very illuminating to read the comments of the trolling Fox supporters here. They are full of the same kind of vitriol that Fox Attacks means to highlight--they are darn near doing your work for you. Very generous of them, really.
But incidentally, I'm still praying for them.

Fox has "NOT" attacked anyone. Those who write this bogus page are George Soros's puppets. Fox News has been balanced and objective. I would like to take a moment to clarify the political significance of the boycott as regards freedom of speech.
A number of people above have made comments to the effect of, 'You liberals always claim you support freedom of speech, but now you are calling for a boycott.'
You see, the boycott is a time-honored expression of free speech, which allows one to exercise choice in consumership based on ones beliefs, be they political, ideological, or simply a matter of taste.
Calling for a boycott does not diminish any media outlet's freedom of speech, unless their message is so odious that viewers refuse to countenance it any longer, or advertisers become aware of viewer disdain.
A boycott is, in fact, rather a less frightening prospect for our cherished first amendment than is the less historical "media blackout" of which this administration has been so fond.

Ok, I'm not American, Irish in fact, and to those of you saying you don't see whats wrong with Fox news, you are seriously, seriously deluded.
A news channel is supposed to REPORT news, not give extremely biased views, attack interviewees and outright lie. Fox News is broadcast on Sky digital 24 hrs a day over here, I don't actually know anyone who watches apart from when they're showing they're friends who haven't seen it before, just to show how fucked up it is. My brother was the first person to show me a clip of the O'Reilly factor on youtube, it was pretty recently in fact, I honestly thought it was a piss take, I couldn't believe that was an actual person let alone an apparently well educated, professional. He was interviewing some UFO searcher nut, and fair enough the guy was a nut, but Bill O'R was screaming at him. Thats ridiculous. Thats not a news show thats theatrics, its hollywood crap (the rest of the world finds this behaviour abnormal, no offence to Americans but you're a weird bunch.) Apart from the ignorance of the presenters, the actual blatant lies are just sickening.
I've been told that 51% of Americans watch Fox news. I have no idea how true this is. If it is even half true its a very scary statistic. I think that anyone who watches Fox News, and considers it a reliable source of information is a complete moron. Even Al Jazeera is less biased than Fox. And thats Al Jazeera, a news programme from a culture that shuns democracy.

Here is the thing, as an African American male, I believe that THIS type of reporting is inappropriate because it was stated before that this is the opinion of the "RIGHT MIND" and it has nothing to do with VITAL NEWS or what is important to the WORLD. With everything that is going on in the world I find it highly disrespectful how a group of people could voice their PERSONAL beliefs and blend it into so called "NEWS" while making attacks against African Americans.
To begin with, how many of these people have actually experienced being "African American"? Have they lived in black populated areas? I GUARANTEE YOU THAT MORE THAN HALF OF THESE WHITE NEWS CASTERS DONT HAVE BLACK FRIENDS; so, with that said, How in the world could they know about the struggles of African Americans?
To know that nearly 50 years ago the liberties that we now enjoy today were denied to our grandparents and/or our parents. And I know what many might be thinking, "Ohh that was old, racism is gone and......", THAT IS GARBAGE! If you believe that racism isnt still alive you need to do your research on Clemson University, and how their students chose to have a racist party on the weekend of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday dressed in costumes depicting all of their negative stereotypical images of African Americans, one image that I ESPECIALLY found disturbing is how white students went running around in BLACK FACE; How ignorant can someone be?!? Do they NOT know that it was likely that their ancestors OWNED slaves?!? I think they dont know and its about time someone gave them a cold slap in the face and aware them of reality.
Affirmative Action is being struck down all over the place and without it, statistics show that minority enrollment in the higher education areas (college) has decreased significantly. To go ahead and say that African Americans should take advantage of their rights is only one way of viewing things; THIS COUNTRY AT ONE TIME AUTHORIZED SLAVERY!! And when it ended it took about 100 more years before Civil Rights could be granted and when it comes time to repair the damages by creating Affirmative Action, people want to strike it down. My personal opinion is that this country brought African Americans over here as slaves and since they brought us here, tortured us for nearly 400 years, I think its time for the BIG PAYBACK, and Affirmative Action is doing just that. Many may turn around and say "wait....thats reverse discrimination, we cant do that...", blacks have been calling out discrimination since they were freed from slavery and even in 2007, it is NOT over.
Whether you agree with me or not, I say that you should have experience about a certain aspect of life before you go making judgments about it. So to these news casters, I recommend that they get exposed to the black community before simply making judgments about it because they are being nothing more than ignorant and THAT kind of crap does not belong on national television.

They all have websites, some offer streaming video of their daily news programs. Unless Americans retake our government from these corporate frauds, we are sunk not only as a country, but as a race. A response to all of the above posters: -First of all, a boycott is not a method of totalitarian repression, rather an active choice not to consume/purchase the product of an organization you disagree with. -As a journalism student, I have to agree that Fox's methods of presentation are biased (IE the stock footage that they use in telling a story). They also do seem to play on ethnic/religious tensions to create controversy and strife where it was not found before. -As far as the editorial voices of the network go, none of the shows strive for or achieve reasoned discourse in their discussion of issues. O'Reilly relies on yelling and irrelevant attacks on the messengers patriotism or their supposed evil intentions in the machinations of George Soros, as does Hannity. Also, they tend to put sheepish or less vitriolic liberals against their conservatives. The liberal side tends to reemble the imaginary team that plays the Harlem Globetrotters to make them look better. The same pattern follows for John Gibson, Cavuto, and the "Cost of Freedom" Saturday economics crew. -The content tends to be almost entirely soft news, and the "Fox News Alert" is abused to the point of absurdity. More coverage was given this week to the misadventures of the various celebutantes than to the ongoing Gonzalez hearings. A week ago, there was a Fox News Alert alerting us to the fact that there was a coyote near LAX. WHAT! Dogs live in large open areas next to easy food sources, especially in their native habitats?! But I digress. Still, this sort of non-news dominates the majority of the daytime news.
How, may you ask, have I come to these myriad conclusions? My family has always been among the Republican party faithful, and watch the Fox News Channel every day as the sort of white noise television that we watch while going about our daily lives. So I have grown up with the network since my pre-teens. I myself am a moderate Republican. I came to these opinions without even watching the "liberal elite" media, but simply in the vacuum of Fox News experience. I ask that you honestly evaluate Fox News and see it for the shrill reporting and logic that it is.

Kudos to Scott above. Now granted, I'm a Democrat and a black person. But I have to say, even putting aside my outrage, that Fox News is just too biased and interested in saying whatever it takes to seem more anti-liberal than conservative. As for a "liberal slant" on my views, well . . . being born a child of two people who grew up on sharecropping plantations as young children in the south who then lived through Jim Crow and the Civil Rights Movement, I've learned from the best on spotting veiled racism. Sure, you can't see it outright. That's why it's "veiled" reacism. And sure a bigot will never admit his bigotry outright. That's what makes him or her a "bigot". a) The little quip about "killing someone and going to get some chicken at KFC". Well, 'scuse me, boss, but can I's has sum ma'dea' (watermelon) wid dat? I always considered murder to be heinous in its own right. What does chicken and KFC have to do with anything? b)Why the call for "more babies"? It's as though he was saying the white race is in a recruitment drive for more soldiers. But for what war? And as my wife points out, it's not blacks that are out pacing white births, it's hispanics. But hey, "all non-whites . . . you say 'toh may toh', I say 'toh mah toh' . . . c)Oh, and lookie loo, they've got a black person or two to agree with them. I guess that means the entire black race is discredited on the opinions of two or three individual blacks. It's call "tokenization". And there have been multiple movements and Acts in American history to make it clear to all that in a society of equals, the ideology of racial inferiority, for any reason, should not and will not be condoned or tolerated. Intolerance will be met with no tolerance. And to have an national media venue display such ideology and still refer to itself as informative and not entertainment should not be abided. Funny how liberals only want freedom of speech for those with whom they agree? No more so than the neo-conservative belief that the freedom of speech doesn't exist - save for their punditry.

Why is it that we always refer to "Black America" as though the African American community is not a part of the American culture? To pretend that any American who is living in this nation today is somehow divorced from the Nation in any sense is a shame. To pretend that any human is divorced form humanity because of a cosmetic difference is insane. America is great because of the people who are a part of her fabric. Humanity survives because of the compassion we are at times inclined to permit ourselves to display. Yes it is a national shame that this country was built on the blood sweat and tears of a people. It is a shame that the country's native people were pushed off the land their ancestors dwelled upon. But America, if she is to survive, must overcome the past and build a future for all her inhabitants. I think it a shame to minimize the pain of African Americans and to simply say "get over it". It is like saying that the Holocaust was bad but "get over it"; that would be just as shameful. We as a country must acknowledge the hate that has placed us in this pitiful place and we as a nation must move forward with a desire to make our country a place that is an example to history. We must show that human beings are above petty and unimportant things. We as a species must survive, and we cannot afford to allow the ignorance and fear of a small group of people to destroy the most important race, the human race. The failure to acknowledge moral wrong in and of itself is a form of insanity that will ultimately cause the demise of humanity.

FOX isn't racist, statistics are racists. The numbers indicate blacks commit rape, murder, assault, etc. at a rate of nearly 8 times that of whites in America. Per capita, that's a violent crime rate of about 50 times more than whites. Keep in mind that there are about 7 times more whites than blacks. I suppose the facts are irreverent though, we should just use emotion as our basis to disagree.
I totally agree with everything in the video. I'm not a fox supporter but they are correct in pointing out that some of the biggest racists in the US are those that claim to be fighting it. Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and the like are as racist as any KKK member. Kudos to Fox for pointing that out. Read Jason Whitlock (a black sports writer in Kansas City) for the answer to black america's problems.

If you go back in world history, at one time white, European people were basically living lives of fear and slavery. In the feudal system only the royalty and those who lived in the castles were free and everyone else including all the poor white people were slaves. Even in the USA, there were a lot of white people who had nothing. They just tried hard to get an education and make a better life. There are black people in the world who have realized that success only comes from trying hard to get educated and make a better life for themselves. And they have succeeded. It is the adults who decided as kids that school was not necessary and didn't attend or try to learn that are whining about people taking advantage of them. From my experience, the percentage of black kids who didn't study in high school was much higher than other races, most likely due to the lack of parental guidance. Many of them were pregnant and having kids at the age of 15. Black young men were having babies with multiple women and not raising any of the kids. Unfortunately, many black kids don't have responsible, education oriented parents. I have seen videos of black fathers teaching their small children to be gangsters instead of teaching them to read and write and be a responsible citizen. This type of education will only put more blacks in prison and not in a better society.

Anyways people there are very pushy and cut in front of you in line with just an 1" of space . Now hang in there i am going somewhere with this .. So when these Chinese people come to Hawaii are they still pushy ? No of course not ! Why ? Well they learn and adapt to our culture out of respect and not getting beaten up . So with that being said ... every time I come across a group of black men or women either shopping at Wal mart or at the movies or at a bar . They always talk loud enough to get attention . My parents were around during WII , being japanese they were treated like crap and all possessions taken away and sent to concentration camps . Discussing issues relating to Black Americans is not racist. How is a "black church" not racist? Hannity brought up a good point on that issue. Also, just because you call black civil rights leaders racist does not make you a racist. Some of Matalin's comments are quite similar to those expressed by Bill Cosby on that issue!

One thing that is being forgotten in this discussion , primarily by those criticizing "leftists" and praising Fox, is that news sources have a certain standard of objectivity to uphold. People who criticize FoxNews don't do so because they don't agree with what is being said on air, but rather because there is a distinct lack of objective journalism taking place there.

You know I find it quite amusing how far this argument has gone. Why do we as Americans constantly find ourselves brooding over the same exact issue. Rascism. You can find it everywhere. Not just on one news channel, but everywhere. It's not going away. If you did have your way and had this news broadcast brought to its knees another would arise and take its place. It's a simple fact of life. They are doing a fine job as a news station, I believe. It is their job to report current issues and keep you the viewers up to date on these events. Is that not what they are doing? I know this will seem very condescending to most but hear me out. I am a white female. Growing up I lived in a predominantly black neighborhood, and attended a similar school. I was the minority in my school. There were approximately 500 students, 10 of which were caucasian, latino, or asian. This school was corrupt with drugs, gangs, underage mothers and other things of a similar nature. When I was transcending into high school my parents divorced and I opted to move with my mother and attend school at a predominantly white school with a 35% minority ratio. The same filth arose from the same groups. That statement may seem rascist but it is the truth. Now I know that we all share a spoon in the bowl of filth but we all know who eats the bigger portion. FOX news is reporting this to let it be known and give us as Americans a chance to do something about it. It is so typical of people to be offended by the racial slander spoken by people of different color and then they turn around and refer to each other with these terms and refer to them as words of peace and friendship. I feel offended by the term "cracker" no matter who says it. Why should you deem your friends worthy of calling you "nigger" but others are being rascist biggots when they say it? Why do you accuse "the white man" of holding you back? It is your decision to drop out of school, have premarital sex and produce children at a young age. It is your choice to rely on state funded programs to assist your living. I am quite frankly tired of giving my tax money to you in order to help you be lazy. Get off your ass and get a job. Without "the white man" you would be nowhere. Maybe instead of thinking its rascism, maybe you should consider it's a little well earned gratitude.

Humm well the guy from seinfeld yelled at some hecklers and got bad press all over the news . But seriously black comedians make fun of white people all the time and white people blow it off as funny . However why is it not the same on the other side? While I agree that some of the material highlighted here is offensive, more damaging are the apologists that defend the problems wiithin the black community. As long as it is considered unacceptably racist to identify and address problems within a particular ethnic community (and yes, I realize that "the black community" is a vaguely-defined entity), blacks will continue to suffer from atrocities such as a sky-high homicide rate while apologists place all the blame on the (partially cupable) institutional racism in American society.
The bottom line: the apologists don't think blacks can do any better. I understand this appraoch from guilty, latently-racist whites, but not from so-called black leaders.
Fox sucks, but the apologists do more damage.

I wish most people stop pretending that black people are no longer oppressed and that history no longer matters, which is the most unforgivable offense of all. Because this is the root argument of racists everywhere. This is the lie that inspires people to say things like, "Go back to Africa," and "Slavery is over, get over it." Yes, the iron shackles have been taken off, but those shackles still exist in other forms. We still have a long way to go toward reaching true equality in this country, and attempts--by various people--to deny us these rights to our own cultural heritage and history are clear evidence of that ongoing oppression.
People of non-color have LITTLE to NO understanding of what someone of black/brown/yellow/red {in some instances; i.e. the poster above me commented that she was bi-sexual} hue is going through in everyday life pretaining to racism. Bottom line.

I myself am not a claimed "FOX watcher" but I sincerely disagree --foxsucks-- Presidency is not an easy job. Yes President Bush has made some mistakes during his presidency but name one former President who was perfect in his presidential execution. Don't complain about the downfalls of one great man if you aren't willing and prepared to step into his shoes. Instead of degrading our President and giving foreign countries more reasons to look down on us you should respect him for the mere fact that this great nation has not fallen under the power of extreme terrorism due to his consistency. He is one man doing a job which we would not lightly elect him to do. That is the problem we are having with this rascism issue. Lack of respect. G.W.B. is not the reason this issue is still alive and kicking. It's people like you who have forgotten that respect is the only thing that will get you through life.

Ha ha, it doesn't take much to expose the weakness of "conservative" argument. You folks who believe there is no racism against Black Americans should get out more. Spend some time in a poor Black community. Look at statistics on incarceration, capital punishment, poverty, etc. Compare levels of social services in the US with other industrialized nations and ask yourself why we are so unwilling to help poor people.
Beyond ignorance there is the inablilty of "conservatives" to think clearly. You cannot compare the political agenda of a news network with that of a political action organization and be intellectually honest. Of course, if you watch Fox News very much, you would likely suffer significant intellectual impairment.
I don't think there are many liberals who would censor Fox News. There are plenty who would not watch it or want to spend money with a business that supports it? Is that not our right, as much as it is Murdoch's right to telecast such garbage?
There are many liberal media outlets with libreal viewpoints: The Nation, Democracy Now, and Air America are a few. None of them present their views with the thuggish anti-intellectual bluster of Fox, not even close. If the Nazis had a TV network, it would have operated a lot like Fox News.

All of those segments of Fox News were cut off and arranged to make Fox News look racist. But I saw some of those episodes and they had people arguing for both sides and offering up all kinds of ideas during the debate. It is not fair to take different statements out of context and arrange them in a way that distorts the real situation. Also, it is impossible to ever have a debate about racism without someone saying something that offends someone.

I also grew up in a largely black community, where I was a white minority. At one time, before I was born, it was more white, but blacks moved north and settled there. It was many years ago, and blacks did not behave as badly as many do now. Still, there was trouble, and obvious differences in the way the two races did things. But any complaints about things were blamed on the fact that many blacks were poorer. Some were tough and would fight, but most would not cause trouble if you treated them ok. It was before the hip-hop culture and such. It was more during the civil rights days. And our town had outsiders come in to stir up trouble. Our town never recovered.
There were some blacks who had obviously been taught to hate whites just for being white. My sisters school was almost all black. Growing up there, we lived in the part of town that was very near the black communities, and had to walk to school. We made sure not to walk near the black housing project. We were not stupid. Several black kids of all ages would chase my sister home from school. For no reason. She never fought in her life, and she was so nice. She was ridiculed by the black teacher when my mother complained. Not to say all of the black teachers were that way. One teacher was wonderful. But that does not excuse the other one. I was hit while walking to school only because I was white. So it goes both ways. But I never hated blacks because of this. I actually always tried to see their side of things. But as I get older, I am changing. I want to see the black persons side of things, but all I see is that they just won't move on, and won't do anything to make it better. (Some of them-not all). I resent the way that when the history of my town is reported, it is always one-sided. It has been written about in several major newpapers, magazines, and some books. This little town. But it was/is only the blacks who were reported as being mistreated or treated with racism. It is always someone elses fault. You do know, there are two sides to every story. We were poor, too. So I was not an "elite". I knew what it was like to live in poor conditions. Although I know some of the blacks lived in poorer conditions than we did. And I have come to tire of the "racism" cry. I personally do not think there is that much racism any more. At least not around here. Yet blacks as a whole still will not do what they have to do. Some try. Such as Bill Cosby. And they are chastised by the blacks who don't like what they hear. The black community should look at other races that are successful to see how they coped. Such as the Asians, and I see many good people from the nation of India. They do not have the chip on their shoulder attitude, and are not always crying for equal treatment. They go out and make it anyway. And are respected for it. Many blacks have a woe is me attitude. And an attitude of blame. Not all blacks. The ones who do not have this attitude are much more successful in life. Some are successful, but are still a huge part of the problem, such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. So there are successful blacks who are still a part of the problem.
Sure, I feel sorry for the children of the those blacks who I feel are not giving their children a bright future, as well as I do for for children of any race that need a better future. But it is up to the black parents and communities to help them. There is only so much we can do. I am not going to bow down and say that I am wrong when I am not. For sins of the past. Even if I did, it would not change anything. There is one thing that I have never heard mentioned, but I have often thought about. If I am wrong, then correct me. But wasn't it black people who sold the blacks as slaves from the original country? If this is true, then blacks should hate themselves for selling themselves as slaves. And there were good plantation owners, too. Not that that makes it better, but all whites were not bad. Also, maybe blacks should think about what it would be like for them if they still lived in Africa. With the Aids, famines, and slaughters, etc. If they would only see the glas half full. Another thing, if blacks want to be a part of this country, they should stop saying they are African-American, and getting offended if they are not called by the proper terminology of the day. They should say they are American. They could be an American of African descent, but they need to fully embrace being an American and stop dividing the country. They are a part of this country. That goes for other races,too.
After all of these years, things are even worse. When I lived in that little town, and it fell apart, people believed that as time moved on, the black situation would improve, and race relations would improve. I think they are getting worse. Not racism, but relations. And I do think the typical black culture is bad for America. Someone once told me that the worst thing that happened to blacks was public housing. At least in some large cities, for sure. Because they tore down their communities and built tall buildings, and took away their sense of community. I do not know, but I think they may be right. I do think that blacks need to stop looking to others to solve their problems. We have tried. It is up to them. They have to pull themselves up, make a decision to quit the whining, and make no more excuses. Just make themselves get over it. For their own sake. And make a decision. If they will not listen, then they cannot be helped. No matter how much Hillary Clinton or John Edwards say they will help. Their kind of help will be to the detriment of America. We do not need more welfare. We need responsible adults. I have heard it said by a black man that that is their culture. That it is just another way of life, the men fathering babies by different mothers, and not raising their children. As though we are wrong for wanting them to change. Well, then quit blaming it on us. Also, quit asking us to support you.
My home town has become one of the most poverty-ridden towns in our state. And in my opinion, it is largely held back by the behavior of many blacks, and many whites (what few are left). I have went to visit, and at a public store, saw cussing in front me, a customer, by the people who work there. As far as they knew, I was a stranger that came to see their little town. And this was obviously normal behavior for the town, since there was no apology or any sign of wrongdoing. In the town I live in now, the person would have been fired for that. But the townspeople are so outside of what is normal now. It was not that way when I grew up. It was a very nice town. What an image the town now displays for outsiders! And every thing is run on grants and public aid, so many young mothers with many children. And panhandlers, and destruction. And then all the townspeople do is complain that they are not treated fairly by others, and they blame their problems on others. They cannot get over the "discrimination". Which I do believe has happened in the past, especially in southern communities. That is what hold them back. It was a wonderful town, full of history, and it has been destroyed. People I know are afraid to drive through town, much less visit. But now, they are doing it to themselves.

Here is the problem in a nutshell. Blacks in America are as DIVERSE as whites in America. HOWEVER, whenever a segment about blacks is shown, it always has a negative slant.
To listen to these folks you'd never know black Americans have a strong middle class. There are 2 black American billionaires in this country. There are black CEOs in this country. There are black owned banks in this country. There are black educators, doctors, lawyers, nurses, engineers, IT Professionals, entrepreneurs, etc in this country.
Nope the image that is hammered home about blacks is criminal, crackhead, etc. Rarely is there a positive report about blacks.
Conversely, reports on whites rarely highlight the negatives. We rarely hear about trailer trash on the news. The only time you'd know whites commit crimes in this country is when he kills his wife and kids, shoots up a school, rob a bank basically something so outlandish it can't be hushed up. But that is not reflection on ALL white people. But when a black person does something it is suppose to be a reflection on all black people.
Fox knows this and keeps the fear of black men going. I find it wild that whites would call blacks lazy when it was the whites stealing Africans to do work for them for free. In my mind that not only makes the whites lazy but cheap.
You have to admit though the psychology these slave owners used however many years ago is till in use to control peoples mind to fear the black man.

No matter how loud or how much it is said on here by those blacks who are blaming all of the race problems on whites or on unfair portrayal of blacks in the media, the truth is that the hatred comes from many, many blacks. And preferential treatment is expected, and a double standard is set by many black leaders and people. Many white people have largely been bending over backwards to please all of those blacks and others who demand special treatment. And out of all of those that demand special treatment, I have been most sympathetic to the black person. I have often in the past been on their side, because of the history of this country. But some people, you can never please, and I believe that to be true of certain peoples, and one of these poeoples are a large segment of the black population. I hear so much hatred coming from them on these websites. There are a much higher percentage of black people doing these crimes than are whites doing them. Check the statistics. There are many decent black people who do not constantly blame others. They take charge of their own lives, and are wonderful people. I work with some of them, and meet them out about town. The ones that want to overcome, can overcome. If there are hard feelings coming from the whites toward the blacks, it is coming as a reaction to the way they see so many blacks squandering the opportunities they are given, which are largely provided by the systems and favoritism this government provides, and then still hearing the blacks constantly blame the whites for their place in life, when we know otherwise. The blacks that stand up for their communities without pointing blame, will be successful, because pointless blame solves nothing. But determination to overcome the root of the problems will. Blacks will only improve their own situation by stopping the hatred. And making the decision that they are responsible for their own future. And stop propogating the hatred. Till that happens, there will always be these problems. But I am sure I am wasting my time. Some people do not have ears to listen, or a mind that will reason. All they have is a mouth to lay blame with. Until the black people are able to actually LISTEN, they will never hear. And I totally agree with Paul H. and Beth.

I read someone said blacks expect preferential treatment. This is the problem. It is hammered home that affirmative action means blacks when in fact it is WHITE WOMEN who have benefited most from AFFIRMATIVE ACTION not blacks.
There are so many misunderstandings and faulty perceptions that are deliberately being hammered home to the American populace about black people that are distorted or wrong.
They don't have the same mind. No one person speaks for all black people. I would like to see a picture of a white woman shown whenever affirmative action is discussed on a news cast that would be more truthful.

First of all, you can't jsut show clips of things that people say and use that to prove that they're racists. A lot of things can sound bad as a sound byte, but when you get them in context, you understand what the people were really saying. It happens all the time.
Secondly, a lot of the people you show that give their opinion are on the station to do just that. On Hannity and Colmes, they don't claim to be neutral news anchors you just present the facts. They each have openly stated their political leanings and they use that to debate on their show. A lot of the other people who make these so called racial comments are guests. They are allowed to say whatever they want and it's not a reflection on the station. Fox brings on guests from all political factions and mindsets.
When you look at the actual news reporting on Fox, it is completely unbiased. And you can't just look at the stories they do, but also the way they speak about people and actions. On most other news stations, it is the words that the anchors choose and the way they go about a story that proves what they're really trying to do.
One last thing. Just because the people on your little clip say "black" instead of "african american" and state facts about blacks that some may find ugly doesn't make them racist. It means that they are willing to look at reality and call people out, even if it is considered politically incorrect.
If Fox is actually as bad as you seem to think it is, then people won't watch it. But since most of the attacks against them are lies, people can see through it. That's why Fox's ratings keep going up. Because people can get whole stories and make up their own mind.

I think many people that are pro Fox don't like to share. That is what the slogan of every Republican Political campaign should be, if it were to be honest. "Tired of Sharing? Vote Republican". The only problem with this way of thinking is that most Republican voters are the ones that benefit from the "sharing". Fox is the tool of those that have the most to share and with the least desire to share it. This whole "Blacks are whiners" complaint I read over and over on this board is sad. Not because I hate racism, which I do, but because it is so ignorant. Yes there are some black people that want a handout, but let's be honest there are plenty of white people that want the same thing. It's just not newsworthy to show poor white people complaining. Those people really have no excuse. A white person can fit in easily to a world controlled by rich white people. A black person is visully different making it difficult. I think those who have successfully made it in a sea of adversity are to be commended and those that are struggling in the ghettos, that were created by white America by the way (look it up), should be helped by white America to make this country better. The days of saying things like, "I've never owned a slave," are over. White America needs to get over this and realize that it does still sting the black community that they weren't invited to be here; they were forced to be here. Even today people are displaying this hatred towards black people. And telling a story about how you were abused by some black guy or some black teacher really breaks my heart, but multiply that by a thousand and you just might touch the surface of a black American's struggles. Fox news is and always will be the voice of the corporate billionares club and I feel that no one commenting here is a member of that club. I am white.

First let me start by saying that anyone that doesn't believe that Fox news is racist is in denial. Anyone who dosen't believe that racism is alive and strong in a America is ignorant beyond belief. I am a black American, and I know my future is in my hands. Black people do not blame "white people", all we do is point out the difference in quality of life. If you do not believe me, check out the difference in the school systems. Starting from preschool, most black children are at a disadvantage. It's basic cause and effect. All you have to do is open your eyes, it's there for everyone to see. If you have a poor education starting from the age of three, how far will you go in life? Just check it out! If you have children, find out what your school spends per pupil, then go to a local "black" school and ask them what they spend. This, I cannot make up because it is documented.

I cant believe some of the things coming out of these people's mouths. Yes black america does need to step up but how can they with people like fox news tearing them down. Maybe what they said was all fact but where are the stories on blacks doing the good things. So what if a black man robbed or killed. Every race does that. The thing that is different is when a white man does something bad it is left alone. But when a black man does it is continually emphasized that he is a person of color. If they brought the story then ended it without bring black people on to humiliate them then fox would not be a racist station. But they are and everybody involved can burn in hell

I'm not black or american and I regard myself as conservative on most issues, but that is not balanced journalism, I'm embarrased for anyone who watches a Fox "news" item and takes it seriously. I'm not here to judge right-wingers for their views. However I just cant see the logic behind airing these stereotypes, do any of you really think that fox is going to solve the problems of American society by reinforcing racial stereotypes? Social interaction is a 2 way street; every time you accuse blacks of being lazy and not fit for work you are contributing to the problem. Even the most ignorant bigot will admit that it is more difficult for blacks to get jobs because they are viewed in negative ways. Say whatever you want about blacks or hispanics or whatever but you are not going to find a solution by condemning an entire race into one stereotype, you are going to make the problem worse.

I am not going to blast the views of people on this site even though I strongly disagree with them, however i do have something I would like to say. If you can't see that this video is edited to the point of taking scenes at mid sentence and making them appear to be "racial" or "provocative" statements, I suggest you watch it again. If you don't believe me, watch for the first scene of O'rielly. I remember watching that show,and he was asking the professor, who is a friend of Bill O'rielly, if calling an african american "articulate" is racist, because in the days before the show someone called Barrack Obama articulate and it was labeled a "racist comment". Don't believe me? write to Bill yourself, he would be more than happy to show the entire clip.

It's too bad the media does not report how blaks really are, for example i'll bet none of you liberal folk know that blaks commit 90% of all inter-racial violent crime, it's as if they have declared war on the white man. Why is the media so afraid of telling the truth about blaks? why don't they explain how the low IQ of blaks is the cause of their problems, instead of trying to find creative ways to blame whites? I'm appalled at the narrow, self-centered thinking displayed in the majority of the comments. My favorite is "why doesn't the asian community suffer like the blacks?" Um...they were never slaves. Um...the remnants of the railroad workers did not represent the kind of numbers that could determine elections, and were therefore not legislared against like blacks. Stop feeling threatened by equality. Stop apologizing for FOX, for the Bush administration, and for your own racism. Jimmy Carter nailed it, "you need only remember the color of the faces...of those most affected by Katrina, to know that equal opportunities are not available to all Americans."

I just wanted to comment on the person who said that blacks start off in bad schools and therefore it's nearly impossible to move up in the world. I don't know if you've ever visited any of the small mining towns in the Appalachain region, but after going there you can't say taht blacks have worse schools than whites. Whites make up 44% of the people under the poverty level while blacks only make up 24%. I went on a service trip for a week in Big Creek, WV and I learned a lot about life there. It's hard. Most of the people are dirt poor, were that way from when they were born, and are not very highly educated, even though they made it through high school. But while I was there, I don't think I heard one person complain. They were happy with their lives because they had their families, some sort of roof over their head, and their faith. For most of them, that seemed to be all they needed. Those that had jobs worked so hard so that they could provide for their families and for others in their community. Everyone took care of each other and when floods ravaged the county a few years ago they all banded together, took people in if they still had a house left, and rebuilt the community. They are amazing people. And they always have hope for the future. I have a friend who is from backwoods Kentucky, had a very low quality of education, never went to college, but worked hard and played to his strengths, and now is the VP of Sales at our company. I wish that attitude pervaded more of society, because then we wouldn't have people complaining all the time. So much effort and money is put into challenging the "system" and proving that blacks are kept down, but if we could just put that effort into quiet education and reforming views on how you get ahead in life, then blacks' lot in life would be a lot better. I'm not saying it's easy when you go to a crappy school, but education is mostly what you put into it. If your teachers aren't teaching, learn on your own. That's what the internet and libraries are for. Put forth an effort.
My great-grandparents came from Germany and when they got here they lived in a tent with 3 kids until they could build their house. My other great-grandparents were also German and moved to Canada. During WWII they were kicked out and sent back to Germany, and eventually came to the US. You can't look at a person now, someone you may think of as priveleged and assume that they come from a continually priveleged background. My grandparents started off dirt poor, but worked hard and were able to provide for their 6 children, who in turn worked harder and could provide an even better life for their children. Success isn't instantaneous and it's not guaranteed, you just have to do what you do best, work hard, and pray for a better future.
PS. To Sumone up above, while I feel that behind your words you may hold some truth, those comments are unbelievably crass and inappropriate. If you ever plan on proving a point to someone, you are going to have to be much more articulate. You just sound like a moron.

Well, I'm a mixed (African-American/Asian-American/Caucasian-American) and I would just like to speak on behalf of someone who has lived in the real "ghetto" and experienced people forced to live there because of the overflow of drug use in the community.
I'm tired of people saying that "Black people just need to work hard enough, and that's the reason why they are stuck in the ghetto." The reason people are stuck in the ghetto is because parents can't find jobs that are willing to accept blacks, and since they have no jobs the children can't eat and sometimes the parents do drugs because they were exposed to them IN THE WOMB and cannot physically fight the addiction alone. Then when the children are old enough they try to find ways to feed themselves and the only way to make money at that age is to sell drugs to get food and decent clothes and they end up enjoying the fact that they finally have money in their pockets and continue to do it. I've seen it and experienced some of it in my life and I don't want it to happen to other families. That is why we need SOMEONE -- it doesn't matter whether Democratic OR Republican... just as long as they fight for ALL races to have peace among each other... because I've been hated by all different races because I'm mixed. I'm too white for some blacks and too black for some whites. I'm just stuck dead in the middle. The racism and slander needs to stop because it is just slowing the process of getting closer to a way of life where everybody is happy instead of most people fighting and arguing over which side we're taking and what race we are instead of who is the better fit for the job at hand.

"FOX isn't racist, statistics are racists. The numbers indicate blacks commit rape, murder, assault, etc. at a rate of nearly 8 times that of whites in America. Per capita, that's a violent crime rate of about 50 times more than whites. Keep in mind that there are about 7 times more whites than blacks. I suppose the facts are irreverent though, we should just use emotion as our basis to disagree."
But in many places there has been many black women raped by white men and blacks brutally murdered and reported missing and the judges and police just ignored the reports as if they didn't matter.
But I do understand that racism is everywhere because my white friends and I face racism from African American people in my neighborhood often just because our skin tone is light (remember I am mixed with white too).
And as a final comment I would like to say to the person who asked why more blacks don't go help out in Africa more if they are so concerned about their roots: They don't have the money.

As a person who has studied propaganda extensively, I can say that O'Reilly is a practiced propagandist operating on a propaganda network; he seizes every opportunity to tear his opponents down and build his own side up, cynically and through any means necessary. This "articulate" comment is a classic example: he offers a patronizing, backhanded comment that implies that blacks are expected to be inarticulate, and then acts offended when called on his racist, thickheaded manner. Bill O'Reilly's comment (the previous comment in question) is racist because he does not have the racial experience to make a comment such as "Look, he's articulate." Coming from him, it is demeaning precisely because he is a cracker. It is not a compliment, it's patronizing, and essentially saying, "...for one of you people." It's as though he said, "Look, isn't Barak cute? That's a good little colored person! Ohhh, isn't he so cute? Look at that little smile on his face? Cootchy-cootchy-coo..." The reason a black person can make comments and references, such as calling another black person "nigger," while a white person cannot, is that same experience. O'Reilly does not have the experience of growing up in a black household with people who were the children of children of slaves; people who have been beaten by cops; people who have been denied jobs for no reason; people who see whites tighten their grips on their purses and wallets upon seeing them. Context is key. This is why non-Jews cannot tell non-racist jew jokes, and so on. You can say you "went to school with them" all you want, but if you haven't been in that skin, it doesn't count. For this same reason, O'Reilly does not have the contextual experience to make such overly familiar "compliments," because in light of his history, they come off as patronizing and back-handed, at best. Along these lines, O'Reilly's speech is tainted before he begins, because he has a long history of involvement with the Republican party, as well as a demonstrated habit of shouting down any guest he does not agree with; and of ridiculing any such person who is not present as "stupid" or "crazy," thereby delegitimizing anything they have said or might say in the future. (This tactic has been widely used by the right wing in general; see the right wing comments above.)

Just as when Bill o Reilly stated ON LIVE TELEVISION that Americans were responsible for the slaughter of captured german POWs at the town of. Now i can not remember the towns name but what it was. Germans had captured and slaughtered American's who SURRENDERED to the germans. Fox later went on to edit the transcript off their site. But luckily it was live. And the video is out there..daamnit if i could only remember what the fuck it was called.

I find most of the things that the majority of people say most of the time to be moronic. I can see both sides of this issue. I personally feel that there should be limits on welfare for EVERYONE. I feel that EVERYONE should take personal responsibility for their own actions and if they don't like their lives, they should do something to change it rather than blaming everyone else. In EVERY group you have bad apples, you have your perpetual victims, you have your militants, etc. I think Americans in general have a sense of entitlement that is unrivaled anywhere in the world by anyone. Wake up America. No one owes you anything.
I don't think it an issue of just the "black community" but an issue with every community that exists in this country. As the most powerful minority in America I think that we're also the most visible and therefore everything seems to be just about black and white. Just turn on your television, go to the movies and mostly what do you see in this country - black and white. A public official says the N word and their life is over but if they say the C word or the WB word, it's not treated as seriously.
I think this as well has helped to perpetuate some of the animosity amongst the other races. It’s almost like this country as a whole says that no one else is important. I can almost feel sorry sometimes for Asian people and other minorities in this country who kind of fall to the wayside. Still, for other ethnicities to try to decry and otherwise detract from what has always been and continues to be a very real issue in this country - racism - not just between blacks and whites but amongst all races, is just a showing of their personal ignorance.
Racism is alive and well in America. There's no denying it. I have faced it myself. I have seen it directed at others. I have come across people in the KKK in my life. I have hitch hiked through Sun Down towns as a teenager.
This is America people – where people have the right to think or do or say whatever they want (so long as it is within the law). You don’t have to like it. You don’t have to agree with it. Still, I’d just as soon rather that my news agencies conduct themselves within the bound of truth and impartiality (well as possible with human beings) reporting. If you’re going to report on one point of view, you should give other points of views (yes even those opposed to your own) equal opportunity. Unfortunately, most news reporting agencies are guilty of slanting. It’s your job as an intelligent human being to take it or leave it, to bother to educate yourself about the issue or to swallow hook, line and sinker whatever the first person you see who mentions something says.
The system is flawed and if all you do is spread negativity and complain rather than making some kind of genuine effort to effect change, you are as much a part of the problem as people actively involved in starting the fire. That being said, you many not agree with the people here but at least they have the guts and the drive to try to change something they see as negatively impacting (whether that be the case or not). Instead of coming over here just to shred them and perpetuate racist views, why don't you create a petition intelligently stating your opposing view…. but I guess that would be too much like being left wing for some of you.

shall we thank mr. reagan for the trickle down economy which is praised as a successful model but leaves the bottom dry. the financial drought for the working american who toils at minimun wage has hit black and white, young and old, and we as a voting public don't get it. we continue to vote for tax breaks that benefit the top so that our drip, drip, drip keeps coming. is the drip method a form of torture? are we all out of our mind that we forget to include the economic conditions in our discussion about race in america? why don't we scream together against the exploitive nature of our current system so that the bloke with his one room appartment does no longer have to house and feed those more desperate than himself? we need a new social contract!

I'm shocked at some of the comments made. People reading this site, who SHOULD be reading this site to learn the truth about our corrupt news media lead by Fox News still aren't getting the point:
News and Journalism should be reporting the facts, reporting information so people can make a decision about the issues.
Fox has created a new breed of reporting, more of the "anti-journalism opinion column". They report the issues, but they also insert opinions about the issues. Therefor biasing you, and influencing you to take on their views, or at least hear them. Its not so much of a NEWS channel by traditional means as it is a megaphone for someone else's views and opinions.
The problem is people still think its news, they dont realize they are being told, or persuaded to believe a certain thing. Its done very cleverly and its harder for you to realize how much of their opinions they insert into their reporting until documentaries and websites demonstrate their tactics.
But, for those who like being a sheep and like the comfort of having their opinions and ideals formed for them by a corporate megaphone, keep resisting these "brave new" ideas and stay in the comfort of your middle-class home sitting on your couch watching Fox News.
Or you could start to question what people tell you, what the all-mighty television tells you, and even what websites like this tell you.

Look, the constitution says that Fox has just as much right (no pun intended!)as BraveNew Films has to say whatever they want to say. Everybody has a right to turn of their television. If you don't like what you see, change the channel! I know Fox twists and turn the facts. I know thery're bigots and they are run by a gigantic egomaniac who thiks he should run the world (bye Dow Jones!). The issues here are societal. It's the environment and the parents that are responsible. If you watch and believe Fox News (O'rielly) you're already a bigot! But I love this right wing talk that if minorities would just get a job and take personal responsability and stop stealing and taking drugs, they wouldn't be disciminated against! That is such crap. O'rielly is a pervert, Limbagh is a druggie, and just about everybody in Washington is a crook! This isn't about black, white, asian or latino. I'ts about rich and poor, have and have not. It's about power and control, and they control you by keeping you poor and uneducated. And when people turn to stealing to survive, they say well, they are so lazy, if they would just get a job and be responsible. The rich right wingers tell all the beer can Billies that the government is handing all thier tax dollars out to people who don't deserve it, meanwhile they are ripping us off (How many billions a day in Iraq? Pete, my parents have always pushed me to do the best i could in watever i do. I look at some of my closest friends. It is sad. While I stayed after school to study for tomorrow's exam they went out and got wasted. I'm looking at a four year scholorship while most of them won't even graduate highschool. The fact that i'm going to succeed in life has nothing to do with the color of my skin. I put in the hours, kept my nose clean, and now i'm looking forward to a comfortable life. but i know that someday my tax dollars will end up going to those same friends of mine who were out partying while i worked my ass off. Despite liberal belief Bill O'Reilly wasn't born on the set of FOX news with a million dollars in his hand. He was raised well by his parents and now he is making millions. Something tells me he prolly wasn't on the corner selling drugs and "gang bangin" with his "homies." And as for that video... Once again it was all taken sooo far out of context. I could cut out parts of CNN and string them together and make em sound pretty bad too. But if you listen to the full segments it shows a complete different attitude towards the subjects they were discussing.

Sorry, BNF, but you need to pull that video and show each of those segments in their entirety ! If not, at least add a laugh track ! I've seen all the segments aired and those are blips, and in no way serve as an "attack on Black America" ! I think "Good Times", the WB, and all the other black television "step-n-fetchit" television shows are more heinous and offensive. I'm black and offended at what I see as a self-serving recruitment tool against Fox News. You should do better- this is grade school A/V editing. But I'm not surprised. I'm probably older than most of the commentors here. Remembered when JFK was elected and assasinated, I saw Martin Luther King speak in '63 (my uncle was on the podium)and in my grandfather's church, remembered when Malcolm preached-- and was shot down, participated in many civil disobedience demonstrations, such as Resurrection City in D.C. and the Poor People's Campaign, was involved with the Nation of Islam and the Black Panther Party, am a Vietnam Vet, and continue to work in the public sector. Bottom line is: race-relations hit bottom(!) when the federal overnment decided, too late, that they could make everyone love one another by throwing money out willy-nilly. Well intentioned as it may have been conceived, Johnson's poverty program's were a disaster. Well before the fed's became involved, grass-roots efforts were making much better strides since the early twentieth century in black communities(co-op's, churches,home businesses, etc.).Frederick Douglas and his call for the "Negro's" necessary emaniciaption from slavery and his participation in the politics of a new America, Carver's boot-strap theory, Garvey's pride in heritage and committment to legacy, Elijah Mohammad's economic principles and health consciousness, King's sermon's on community participation, sacrifice, respect and spirituality, Malcolm's call for " community self-reliance" and his rejection of white left-wing "interlopers" making decision's for black people- all are important references for anyone of intelligence interested in finding out what sincere blacks want and need- not only for themselves but for their children and from their community. I guarantee that most people commenting here- black, white, asian, latino, mixed- no little, if anything, of what I've mentioned. It's a shame, but the writing's thousands of black author's, theorists, scientists, activists, etc. are out there in print, on the 'net, in video and audio. If they were studied, then the subject of whether Fox News is biased, racist, etc. would be mute and not important, and palced in the entertainment context it is. As a child, our home library was full of these writings. Not just black writers, but everyone from Socrates to Sarte. There was an understanding in my family the education is for a lifetime. It definitely was not a half hour a day at 6:00 p.m. In the late '50's and early '60's, I remember young white people, well-intentioned and college-educated, coming into my neighborhood (in New Jersey) inviting the black family's to meetings at rented halls. They wanted to see what they could do to help the "Negro", I suppose. Well, it did not fair too well, because no one would show up. Why? Because everyone was too busy working and raising their families. You see, my neighborhood was a working class / blue colllar neighborhood. We did have people who were poor, but there were non-government entity's to help them. They were called "neighbor's". Most of the people migrated from the same southern community and settled in the same area. I could trace my family's history back over three hundred years. My great-grandfather was a slave and I hold that as a source of pride considering where my family is today. I , personally, thank God my lineage landed in America and not in Haiti, South America or wherever else slaves landed. Also, the church was the central social / political venue where you could get the news of the day. Opinionated and biased, hard hitting and to the point, no apology and, excuse me, "no spin". Fact: Black people don't like soft pitched, touchy-feely, heart-on-the-sleeve, piss-in-your-pants, back-pedaling bullshit. There's something about living a hard-scraped life that make's you appreciate honesty in life, because you tend to smell lies. Ask people who've survived pogroms of Eastern Europe, death-squads of Central and South America, the genocide of Darfur, Somalia and Cambodia, human right's violations of Tibet and the Middle East, etc., etc., etc. Most Black leaders are not the one's you see- you know, the usual Sharpton / Jackson cartel and hangers-on. Most are behind the scenes, working in communities, trying to undo the current damage the has taken over 40 years to accumulate. Why do I say "over 40 years" and not 400 (or 500, or 600- pick a number...)? Because I use the 1965 Civil Rights Act as the litmus on how this nation should have entered the modern era of America, not to mention the changing world. Instead we backtracked and became a welfare-state , a new slavery for many, that has eaten individuals and families like a cancer and spewed them out to mental and physical misery. The gap between rich and poor is enormous. Add that to the realization that the population has grown immensely before we could get a grip on our social and economic problems, most industrial jobs are gone, family values and ties are by the wayside, and a decent education and affordable housing is out of reach even for the middle class- we are a nation in turmoil. Bashing people because they are of a different race, religion, political party--- or watch a different network !--- is pretty silly and self-defeating. I've been a close observer of this nation for over 50 years now and if Fox News is a big deal, I must have concentrated on some petty stuff. I remember Murrow, Conkrite,Huntley & Brinkley, and others and how they presented the topical news of the day. Fox is tabloid. It's easy to trash. If it were a newspaper, (well, the New York Post is close enough), it would line the bottom of the birdcage. Does it take itself seriously? Not the point. Does it get viewers? Yep. Does it get dollars? Ahh, now you're getting there ! This video is laughable, but I can see where the producer thought s/he was making a valid point. Try these video's for poignancy, then:
Well intentioned but it's more of a teaser. In fact, out of voyeuristic tendencies, I would be inclined to tune into those programs and see what all the hub-bub was about. Some blacks need to be "put out there", because that's what they are about. They care nothing about their actions and the detrimental effects to a community at large. They only care about themselves. So be it. Let them go if they don't see the errors of their ways. But I don't and won't answer for every black criminal as I can't take credit for the individual success of any human being. Myself, I understand the message's of the black leaders I formerly mentioned. Self-reliance, self-respect and spirituality are at the top. Education, economic maturity (how to open and establish a bank account, for instance)and improving one's community (picking up a broom) are also valuable. I could say I have mine and to hell with everyone else, as many as my peers have. I could also have others, whether right wing conservatives or left-wing liberals, the Democratic or Republican Party, MoveOn.org or Fox News, put me under their thumb and tell me "what I need to know". I choose none, especially when it comes to race issues. The outrage and indignation by well-meaning white liberals may be real, but it is all window dressing. It has always been known that the white liberals who side with "the Black Cause"- or any minority cause, is an attention-getting act. Like the platinum, blue-eyed blonde who finds the most blue-black-skinned male she could find. Compare and contrast. It's a fetish, man. Consequently, white left wing liberals who join the cause are mad at their own. It's a missionary mentality. Some have visions of saving others they perceive as never being able to help themselves. Most in the black leadership understand that the "new Civil War" is still being played out amongst white people. It's not about saving black souls. It's about winning the "red / blue" war, period. But you still need a cause and blacks are easy. Every civil rights struggle looks to the historic black struggle as a model. Leftists are no different. The left has always enlisted black, going back to Paul Robeson. My family had "wobbly" (labor movement) ties in the '30's. It is why blacks seem to be reluctant to join anyone else's cause; and were so vehemently angered when gay's began to align themselves with the struggle of Rosa Parks. True it is historic, but not to be taken lightly. Poor lil' burr-heads-- after all, they're only Negro's. I don't mean to say there are not whites who feel a genuine disgust over what is happening to blacks or race relations in general. Usually they are young, educated, open to change, naive, and have a sense they could make a difference. You have to applaud that. But like a contact high it doesn't last forever. Where are all those young naif's that I knew 40 years ago? Hmmmm...in government, Hollywood, business ? Amongst my friends, whom some happen to be white, there is reasoned and lively debate about all issues, including race. No p.c., no passes, no stifling attitudes or apprehension about what words to say. Just honest dialouge. Hurt feelings? Sometimes. Brawls? At times. Late night, filbusters and talkfest marathons? Mostly, or until we get it straight. Look, either we can talk / argue / shout it out without running away or reigning blows on anyone, or be limp-wristed, p.c. emo-tonics,afraid of saying the wrong thing, so we don't say anything. If you take the former, then Fox News is merely entertainment and doesn't count in your otherwise orderly and mundane life. I find blacks who are treated condescendingly more offensive. Incidently, I've seen more black guests on Fox , from hip-hop artists, to Nation of Islam reps, so the contention is that they only have wishy-washy, neebish black guests is not supported. If we can change these sorts of attitude, then everything else is gravy. Not a cure to the many other ills, mind you, but the way others see you goes a long way. Perception is key. Action is a must. Otherwise, for the thousands of blacks who do legitimately succeed through hard work, that success will be, rightly or not, perceived to be gotten only through the largesse of others. Still,for those people, regardless of their affiliation who've always doubted blacks are capable of success via any means except through largesse; or are threatened by their zest to move forward, a bit of latent Schadenfreude reserves as a guilty, unspoken pleasure. Still, FOX is a 3rd rate station (but further down in ratings), that delivers the blather of the NeoCons. It's owned by a very rich NeoCon foreigner who's attempting to take over media for the purpose of making money.
Of course he preaches the line for big business and their political cronies - that's where the MONEY comes from. The interests of big business is to make money any way they can, and that means reducing their fair tax 'burden'. That's why they refer to proper government programs as 'entitlements' - as if they're a waste. That's why we don't have universal healthcare - they don't care. That's why they've rolled back progress on environmental issues - they don't care.
So, it's US versus THEM. Corporations don't have a vote, so they use FOX to confuse us - and then they tinker with voting on top of THAT!
Pretty soon, we'll be attacking other countries for their natural resources - Oh, or should I say 'oil', I just remembered.....

WOW!.....i have just read the closed minded, bigoted, right wing bullshit posed in this comment section and i actually feel physically sick....i feel sick because until about ten minutes ago i thought that American people were staring to wake up to the FACT, that fox and most other mainstream news networks are tools, which are effectively being implemented to keep the American as sheep. see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil.....It is hard to see the reality of a situation if your in the midst of it. take a step back and it becomes as clear as day. Most of these posts are missing the point. Fox bills itself as being "Fair and Balanced". It is neither. Not only is its commentary biased, but its "news" is inaccurate and slanted toward the neocon right so much that it might as well be called RNC NEWS. If Fox News is so fair and balanced, why have they all but stopped covering the War in Iraq? We don't necessarily want FOX off the air (where else can you get comedy like Bill O'Really or Sean Hannity?), but we DO want to convince them (and their sponsors) that it would be in their best interests to actually report the news fairly for a change. Is that too much to ask? News reporting should be more than constantly being told what you WANT to hear.

I am a white female from a medium sized city in the deep south. I am married to a mid-western guy that did not have a prejudice bone in his body until he came to live in Mobile, Ala. with me. That's when it all changed for him. He has been shocked to experience the racism that is generated towards him from the black community. He is astonished when we are out in public that black people including middle-aged black females will shove past you in an aisle in the store bumping against you pretty hard and never stopping to say excuse me. It's sad to say but being conditioned to this all my life down south, (including when I was a young girl in school during the era of busing blacks and whites across town to intergrate us and black students rioting, ganging up on whites, destroying property, etc. I myself was in the bathroom one day at school when a gang of black girls followed me in there and proceeded to try to jump me, I had never done anything to these girls or anyone else, I was one of the cool kids that liked everyone and everyone liked me. But thankfully, my guardian angel, another black girl came in just at that moment and had my back, until the other girls backed off). I have had to advise him to do what I do when he sees this rude behavior about to happen, to stand his ground and not move out of their way and if there is a confrontation, there just is, but to never back down. Sometimes that is the only thing that these rude racist jerks understand. We experience on a daily basis, as do our friends and family, in convienence, grocery, dept. stores, fast food restaurants, the rudeness of black employees and their indifference toward white customers. Case in point, just the other day I was at a large travel center/convienent store up the highway from my house. It was busy and I had to stand in line. The black clerk was like a robot in her service to the white people in line ahead of me, never a smile, not even a thank you when she was done with each customer. She treated me in the same manner when it was my time at the counter. When the black customer standing behind me stepped up to the counter I was amazed that her whole demeanor changed, she greeted him with a smile, her voice uplifted as she waited on him, thanked him as they finished, I just pretended to be looking at a display as she waited on him to see just how far her courtesy would go to the black patron. This is just one of the reasons it is hard for white people to reverse the tide, although we sincerely would like to. They make it so hard to. Before they start yelling racism they need to look inside their own hearts, they are the ones that won't let things die, and they will never be able to advance as a people and truly be accepted until they stop this foolishness and bullying. I have known a few white people in my life that lived in poverty and one that could not even get food stamps for her and her children because she was white, true story, the food stamp office berated her for even coming in their and requesting it. I know many white people that could not even qualify for a student loan to go to college, yet, many blacks get grants that do not have to be paid back. Black people do get more government help than white people could ever hope for, (Jeez! they get more help than the Native-Americans who we really owe a hell of alot to!), food stamps, welfare, housingboard, earned income tax credit, affirmative action programs, government paid college grants, etc. Oh, and by the way, my roots are of Scottish heritage. England oppressed, slaughtered my ancestors, and took their land for many, many years until the bravest of our people, William Wallace("Braveheart")began a movement and led my ancestors into many battles to free us from their oppression, until they captured him, tortured him and then publicly and viciously executed him. But even so, I do not know of any Scottish person that feels prejudice towards the English. Scotland and England live side by side in harmony. So you African-Americans out their, you really need to get over it already, and take responsibility for your own plight in life.

To me it kinda seemed like you just ignored the fact that whites are rascist to blacks too(and much more often). Have you, by any chance heard of the kkk? You do realize that not everywhere is like where you live? You knew ONE white woman that was poor and you bitch about it but when millions of blacks are poor you tell them to get over it. You mentioned how blacks rioted, ganged up on whites and destroyed property but you didnt mention whites doing ANY of those things, all of which they did. The black community has a lot to be pissed off about, considering that whites have beaten them, lynched them, just plain out killed them and have gotten away without the police doing anything. Did you know that the court case in "To Kill a Mockingbird" is based on a true case? Did you know that a 17 year old black male got tried as an adult(and jailed) for having consentual sex with a 16 year old white girl in Georgia within the last few years? Can you really beleive that a black kid growing up in the ghetto has the same chances of going to college as a white kid from suburbia does? and your scottish incestory isnt comparable because other than the fact it happend way farther back than u.s. slavery. they werent slaves, they got to live in their country, in their homes. really they just had to live under englands unjust rule.

I really am not ignoring the fact that white people are racist too, I know they are. Being form the south, there have been occasissions I have personally seen in my lifetime, the KKK in action, I know the atrocities they have done right in my city. My point is this, I have also seen the opportunities that in my corner of the world they have been given. I watched my father struggle working two job at a paper mill, and a gas station, taking as much over-time as he could get to provide his family with a better life, he finally made and built a house in the outskirts of the city which eventually became a upper middle-class suburban area, very quiet and safe place to live. About 15 years ago the government began helping blacks acquire the same homes in this neighborhood and that was fine but guess what? They obviously didn't appreciate their new life style and the criminal acts and vandalism that this neighborhood has experienced prove it. Also, I have known many poor white people, that was just one of many examples I was stating. I was a sectretary at a long-term health care facility for 12 years. 135 people on the payroll in which approx. 85 were black. They would periodicaaly get into these coversations on lunch break in the dining room, including the black nurses that were on a pretty high pay scale, talking about their new scemes to screw the government out of more money,and laughing about it, how they had gotten over on the government again, which doesn't screw the government it is our money and tax dollars that they are stealing with their scemes and lies. I could go on and on as to what I have personally witnessed where the blacks are concerned but I really don't won't to get into a black-bashing scenerio with anyone. That does not solve anything. And just for the record, Scottish villages were burned, homes destryed, woman gang-raped, people burned alive at the stake. And what about the jews? They have suffered at the hands of many countries for thousands of years, cast out of their own land, exterminated by the germans in numbers that are just mind-boggling, and still here we are in the 21st century and they are still unable to live in peace, but you don't see them out there blaming everyone, committing crimes our of pure hate and vengance, wanting everything given to them. And lest we never forget the native-americans and what has been done to them! This country really owes them alot of retribution, but you don't see them out there causing the chaos that blacks do. There will always be prejudices in all races, my point is this, and I did not mean to be disrespectful when I said for them to get over it, but if they would just realize that the sooner they get the hate and resentment out of their hearts and quit blaming todays society on their woes the sooner they will be able to move forward as a people.

It is clear that many of the so-called racist remarks in this video were either taken out of context or by someone who obviously doesn't represent FOX News. This video is the quality reporting that I would expect from FOX News, so if you want to make your point, you shouldn't stoop to their level and manipulate the facts to serve your purpose. Do some real reporting or else drop the issue.

Fox has been getting away with a lot of lies. It is not a NEWS Chanel; nor is it respectable. I believe that People who finished school realize that Fox is war mongering and viscous . America used to be admired by so many Countries; now we are hated because we invaded a Country. I am the wife of a disabled Veteran that served his Country 22 Years , but he was never a blind follower. He questioned his Commanders when he thought they where going the wrong way. This Bush Administration is arrogant and don't want peace. And Fox goes hand in hand with the Bushwackers. I wonder how anybody in his right mind could believe anything that is on Fox. By the way; when we go to VA we make them change the Chanel, because it is sickening just to see it on. Our Military is spread so thin right now; here in the States. The point that people seem to be missing is that the majority of black people are doing the right thing. Whites are obsessed with tarring an entire race with the bad behavior and misdeeds of the minority of blacks. And, as far as comparing Asians to blacks...Asians were never enslaved and subjugated in this country and then subjected to a constant campaign of lies and misinformation about them after slavery ended. I'm not a whiner. I work, pay my taxes and obey the law. But, if I live in a country where they still have segregated proms, something is wrong here. This goes to changing hearts and minds. But, when Fox throws on Jesse Lee Petersen, a major racist, it is crystal clear what their agenda is. Why do they never invite regular black folks on?

Unfortunately, the black community does not promote "personal responsiblilty", therefore, their community reflects the "victim" attitude and they remain stagnate. This point is the foundation of the issue and truly is color blind. It applies to everyone. I'm Mexican-American man and in the military. I grew up around African-American all my life and I'm married to one. When I read some of the hateful things that are said about Black Americans on these pages I couldn't help but to remind those people who say these things that there are Black Americans, or as some of you are saying "the blacks", serving overseas right now who are fighting and dying for you. Black Americans have served this country's armed forces through the Revolutionary War, through slavery, and especially through Jim Crow. There were African-Americans that were lynched in uniform during the First World War for crying out loud; however, even throughout all the injustices Black service memebers had to go through by being treated as second class citizens especially in uniform, they still served this country with dignity and pride even though at the time it may have looked like it didn't make any sense. What is my point? When I read words like the "n" word or just read some of the hateful things that are said about Black Americans on this site, remember that somewhere across the world, right now, there is a Black Soldier, Marine, Sailor, Airman, and Coast Guardsman who is standing the watch right now defending your freedom or speech so you can say what you say no matter how hateful and ignorant it is. Remeber that!

I'm one Black American who finds the content and nature of Fox News very offensive, not only to Blacks, but to other minorities and women. In any case, from reading the comments I felt the need to make a some points: 1) The media in general has characterized Blacks and other minorities in a negative light for decades. Fox is not the first, but they are definitely the worst. This is one issue where the "liberal media" allegation is out of place, because the mainstream news networks are guilty as well. But once again, Fox News is the worst. 2) Brave New Films is not a news organization, so accusations of bias are irrelevant. The question is if they have offered valid criticism. 3) I've seen most of this video footage in better context, and I do not find the editing of this video problematic. Their goal was to make the point quickly, and I think they have. 4) Blacks who say exactly what White racists want to hear have existed since the civil rights movement. I cannot say where they come from because I do not know where they came from, I can only say that they have existed, and they still exist. This may be hard to believe, but there are some Blacks who participate in racism against Blacks. 5) There is more! Fox News and its hosts have a long history of doing this sort of thing. Bill O'Reilly said Blacks are better off since slavery back in 2002. Hannity is apparently buddies with white supremacist Hal Turner, who frequently called into Hannity's radio show without being bullied (If this is true, it is hypocritical in light of this "double standard" talk sponsored by Hannity).

FOX NEWS is garbage and I don't even have to watch the video on this site to know that. American's have become to smart to fall for this stuff. People have wised up since 9/11 as close to 405 of American's believe the government orchastrated 9/11 and that number also continues to rise. I sometimes wonder why I bother to post comments in response to ignorant right-wing fascists such as the Fox lovers who feel compelled to spew their puke on sites like this and I tire of these ill-informed debates so I will keep this to the point and short. I am someone who has pursued a higher education (going to grad school next fall)in political science and has lived in the South almost my entire life (minus the time I spent in Iraq and other "exotic" locals as an infantryman in our imperial army). I am therefore an expert compared to those of you who claim to love Fox and can't complete a grammatically correct sentence ( please read anything you mentally disadvantaged morons!). I know it really sucks when someone knows more than you but deal with it, losers.
So to the point... The very definition of racism precludes blacks in America from being racist. Racism is defined as an ideology held by the MAJORITY that entails discrimination and oppression against a minority that is enforced by most if not all institutions of a society in varying degrees, and is also prevalent in the dominant culture. So let's examine this closely for those who are challenged intellectually.
Yes, some blacks are bigots who despise whites or Asians or Martians or anybody not black. This is unfortunate but an expected and predictable outcome of the racism against blacks in our society that has occurred as pretty much official policy for most of the last 500 years. As a minority within a minority these blacks don't have the power to enforce their bigotry day to day. Therefore...its not racist, period. Fortunately most blacks have much more capacity for forgiveness than I can fathom and don't hate. This is hope incarnate. You might ask in ignorance, what racism against Blacks? This is the real crime of white racism in America. You who ignore the reality of what it is to be black in America are just as guilty as those idiots who believe being a patriot means wearing a sheet. Until then there was no real concept of "race" as we know it. We whites invented racism and continue its enforcement to this day. That says enough in my book. I too remember the sixties and the black communities were hard working men and the women taught the children respect to black and white. There was no drug problems to the point of trashing the neighborhoods they lived in. White people did not walk around calling them niggers either. Slavery was not done to them anymore and they moved on trying to make a good living to the families. When time moved on the blacks began trashing the places they live and drugs moved in and nothing was being done about it in the black neighborhoods but now the scream they have to live in the trashy neighborhoods with drugs and killings. Your enemy is not white people it is your own race. You did this to yourself.You did not stand up to the drug pushers and call for help to get rid of them. You had the slavery behind you and that was a great step for the black people but then you put yourself right back into slavery to the drug pushers,trashing where you live,robbing,killing in your own back yard.You did nothing to stop it. I think that the problems you're identifying are way more complex then you think. You seem to think that a black community can just stand up and get rid of all the drug dealers. Has that ever happened? Yes there are more black people per capital in jail then all the other races. Yes there are allot of black people in ghettos who are addicted to drugs. But this isn't because there black. Everything happens for a reason. Black people where poor an deprived ever since the founder of the U.S enslaved them and brought them to the states hundreds of years ago. The truth is black people can't build better community's because they never have. It sounds sad when I say it but its the truth. Black people have never had the proper resources, support or proper media coverage in there whole history in the united states to be able to build strong community's. We take money from they're school's, we give them the lowest paying jobs, we accuse them of being the scum of the American civilization, we stereotype them when ever we can. And we expect them to rise and become our view of what is a proper American. If you try to look at this whole situation with all the truth in you're heart, you'll see that black people have made the largest effort in having a peaceful and harmonious way of life. They struggled before the civil war, before the great wars and they still struggle today. Yes the black community needs to smarten up. But they won't change if we don't change. They live in a world created by the white man, therefore the white man needs to change to accommodate the black man. If you don't like it you can forget you where ever born in a free country, but rather in a country founded completely on money and wealth and fear. Wait that's actually the truth.

You don't have the resources to know anything but what was taught to you. Its hard to realize that something you feel really strong about is the root of many problems. But if America wasn't corrupt, then why are there so many poor people in America? Why do so many people in the world hate America? Why do we still think its ok to consume, use and abuse whatever we want. Its not obvious that I'm right, but I am. I just want people to be happy. We can do it because we have the money, time and resources. I realized that America is connected to the world. Economically and Culturally. Actually, if you want to get technical, whites do more crime, blacks are disproportionately represented on the charts because we represent less than 15% of the United State's population. And nobody is blaming anything on the white man, but everything has a cause and effect, and the reason the world is in the shape it is in is because of greedy white men, even you cannot deny that. 'Somebidy' just does not wake up in the morning and chooses to live in poverty. It is no coincidence that many black people live in poverty either.

When will we all realize that we are in this together? It’s like sometimes we catch a glimpse of the truth and then someone says “all the problems are blackies fault” or it’s “all whities fault”. Then suddenly our emotions take over and we forget and all we can remember is the past when someone of a different skin color looked at us funny or called us a name or even worse, stopped us from getting a job, promotion, nice place to live, or was violent with us or someone we love. This is one country, made of One people like it or not. The world looks at Americans. Americans that have so much (black and white) work so hard, and cannot pull it together because all we can see at the end of the day is color. Please, please stop looking at skin color!! You know in your heart and in your head that that's not the problem. The problem is we don’t look at the person and say “that is an individual (regardless of skin color). I know that when we are afraid we don’t believe this, but we are truly all brothers and sisters here in America. The way we are as a nation just keeps giving birth to hatred. And no one wins when hatred is the only rule in the game. Because hatred takes no prisoners it just finds any reason to come in first. If it wasn’t skin color it would be something else. There have been other societies that have been able to not let skin color be the predominate decider of criminal behavior (all colors commit crimes) and even we haven’t seen examples of such an arbitrary divider. Let us be the first. Let us look with in ourselves and around us and ask ourselves do we want for this country that we love so dearly to be happy, move ahead, prosper. If we do then when we hear another American regardless of the color, spewing racial hatred by saying its Their fault. Let us take the responsibility for them as our brothers and sisters and rebuke them, or encourage them to do better, to be better. We will not survive this way. We are mocked and hated around the world because of our ridiculous disunity. It’s time to unify.

In a world where color, not talent or credentials, determine a person's opportunities, I don't really find it hard to believe that some whites have animosity towards minorities. I almost lost my college scholarship because of racial quotas. Any form of racism is wrong. Even if it benefits a certain race. Just don't expect the minorities to tell you that.

It’s funny (strange) I recently watched Bill O’Reilly’s show and there was a segment where he and Dennis Miller were saying that many people (such as in Hollywood) claim not to appreciate the nastiness on the fox network or who claim not to appreciate it’s divisive rhetoric, then they quickly follow up with the comment that all of these are individuals who don’t even watch the network. Well, I decided to put Fox to the test. I have spent the last 4 months watching fox news/network, almost exclusively, and here is my conclusion. A conclusion which I’m sure will be a news flash to their clueless staff. FOX NEWS A IS RACIST, nasty, divisive, worthless, one-sided network who does not serve to inform but to divide. Here’s the truth, when they were complemented as being "Fair and Unbiased” they were awarded that “limited complement” regarding the first 30 minutes of the Brit Hume Show and ONLY the first 30 minutes of the Brit Hume Show. I invite all Americans to just take one month (you may not be able to stand much more... and mind you, you will be helping their ratings . . . . cant do much about that) I’m sure if you have a intelligence quotient of 50 or more, you come to the same conclusion as I did. That is, if you still have a heart; which the small minded individuals on that network unfortunately have lost. Oh and one final request; Bill Hanity, “please stop saying you’re a Christian. If you are, you should be ashamed of yourself because you are giving Christianity a bad name by using your public forum to spread hatred.

I am so appalled at the bigoted (racist) slant of FOX TV presentations that I suggest that every decent American and Canadian in North America should completely boycott FOX TV and their sponsors until they learn to clean-up their indecent attacks against our black brothers and sisters. There is not a black race and a white race. There is only a human race. When we allow our families to view FOX TV for any reason, we show support for their network and the sponsors that pay them. Think about it. Perhaps there is something positive about Obama's heritage. He still has a paternal grandmother living in Kenya, has a sister who is half-Indonesian married to a Chinese Canadian, has an African-American wife, and spent time in Indonesia. A bit more diverse than most of these white-bread candidates don't you think? While race certainly should not be the only factor in a presidential election, if it is a factor, there may be good reason to it.

To be sure, racism is a two way street, but it appalls me that any supposed "news" organization can present themselves like this, and make such blanket, hate filled remarks. Should they be silenced? No, but Fox should be held accountable to at least the degree that they can no longer claim to be a news program, but purely Op-Ed, perhaps. I am so tired of people trying to justify racism and blacks agreeing with attacks on their own people to "fit in". Blacks have been taught to hate themselves as well as each other through slavery and it's sad to say but, this self hatred has bred a generation of wanna be educated blacks who look down upon those who act "ghetto". In the same retrospect whites have been taught to see themselves as superior and that's so not the truth. As an Army sergeant I saw first hand the resentment and content that other countries have for white Americans. In Iraq, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan (and in Hawaii) we (blacks) were received and treated with love while the whites in our group encountered much hostility. Now what does that say about the white race and other cultures perceptions of them? FYI, I am part white and part black so I am so not a racist.

I think that it's funny that the only people who don't see us (Americans) as ONE people are Americans. The rest of the world sees us as that and many countries hate us, whether we are black, white, brown, or beige...or they want to be us. As an African-American I am appalled by many "black leaders" (and I put that in quotes because they are not my leaders) who spout separatism and segregation in the name of building the black community. I'm about building the American community. Truth be told, I'm first and foremost concerned about building the Christian community. If those who professed to be preachers actually saw the world as Christ does, they would be ashamed of themselves and the time that they have wasted on things that will fade and turn to dust eventually.

O'Reilly making statements about Sylvia's Restaurant being no different than others is a not so subtle way of saying that he expected that it would be full of ignorant people, and it 'actually' was not. Face it: a huge double-standard exisits in this country between what white people are "allowed" to say and what blacks regularly say. Wanna solve the racial problems and tensions in this country? Then BOTH sides need to just shut up about it. Confront the blantant bigotry and hatred vigorously when encountered, but leave every other trivial issue alone.
I live in the middle of Wyoming and I see descrimination every day. Even if I am a white girl, I still have to deal with it all the time because of the fact that I'm pagan and bisexual. If you are not white, straight and a conservative christian, then you are no longer human and open game. I work with a gay kid who got expelled from school because some girl didn't like the fact that he was gay and caused a bunch of problems. Now he has to drive over half and hour to go to school and his adoptive family has kicked him out of the house before he's even graduated from high school. He's only a junior. I have friends that are native american, and they mostly dropped out of high school because of the teachers harassing them and treating them like they are not worth anything.
I can't stand any type of descrimination, least of all from a national company that is using to fatten their wallets. I have no respect for people like that. They should be using their influence to promote tolerance, not the other way around.

The same is happening over here in the UK. The headlines in the daily tabloids are growing more and more Nazi-like towards Muslims and asylum seekers and there is a relentless stream of barrel-scraping headlines scapegoating these two groups (recent example from the Daily Express: "MUSLIMS TRY TO TELL US HOW TO RUN OUR SCHOOLS" - I'm not joking).
It is no exaggeration to say that Muslims are receiving the same treatment from the British press that Jewish people were receiving in the 1930s. (Jonathan Freedland, journalist from the Guardian recently said that if the current onslaught over Muslims in the media were about Jews he would seriously consider leaving the country.)
The UK media is even treating the far-right white supremacist party the BNP (British National Party) as 'normal' these days - it was not the 'done thing' to mention them up until a couple years ago. But in the weeks leading up to the 2005 general election the media suddenly went into a frenzy in covering their election campaign and this resulted in them doing better than they had ever done before.
But again, the reason is because the establishment are trying to counter the threat from left-wing radicals who are by far the majority of political thinkers in this country. (The left's downfall of course is that they are not united in their strategies of how best to move forward.)
Just look at the demonstrations in the US and the UK over recent years - literally millions of people have been mobilised over issues of supporting immigrants and a woman's right to choose and opposing war and racism. Such displays of people power are very scary to the status quo, the main reason that these demonstrations are played down or outright ignored.
The powers-that-be would have you believe that people are 'split' on issues such as Iraq and the bogus 'war on terror' but that is not the case. The real divide here is between people and government - pro-war 'activists' are but a tiny minority.
People are more politicised today than perhaps ever before in recent history and politicians and the powerful elements that control the media are running scared.

It is our right as United States citizens to know the truth about our world and what our government has been up to. As an agnostic I sometimes hope there is a God and hell. You see, the boycott is a time-honored expression of free speech, which allows one to exercise choice in consumership based on ones beliefs, be they political, ideological, or simply a matter of taste.
Calling for a boycott does not diminish any media outlet's freedom of speech, unless their message is so odious that viewers refuse to countenance it any longer, or advertisers become aware of viewer disdain.
A boycott is, in fact, rather a less frightening prospect for our cherished first amendment than is the less historical "media blackout" of which this administration has been so fond.
A news channel is supposed to REPORT news, not give extremely biased views, attack interviewees and outright lie. Fox News is broadcast on Sky digital 24 hrs a day over here, I don't actually know anyone who watches apart from when they're showing they're friends who haven't seen it before, just to show how fucked up it is. My brother was the first person to show me a clip of the O'Reilly factor on youtube, it was pretty recently in fact, I honestly thought it was a piss take, I couldn't believe that was an actual person let alone an apparently well educated, professional. He was interviewing some UFO searcher nut, and fair enough the guy was a nut, but Bill O'R was screaming at him. Thats ridiculous. Thats not a news show thats theatrics, its hollywood crap (the rest of the world finds this behaviour abnormal, no offence to Americans but you're a weird bunch.) Apart from the ignorance of the presenters, the actual blatant lies are just sickening.
I've been told that 51% of Americans watch Fox news. I have no idea how true this is. If it is even half true its a very scary statistic. I think that anyone who watches Fox News, and considers it a reliable source of information is a complete moron. Even Al Jazeera is less biased than Fox. And thats Al Jazeera, a news programme from a culture that shuns democracy.

Affirmative Action is being struck down all over the place and without it, statistics show that minority enrollment in the higher education areas (college) has decreased significantly. To go ahead and say that African Americans should take advantage of their rights is only one way of viewing things; THIS COUNTRY AT ONE TIME AUTHORIZED SLAVERY!! And when it ended it took about 100 more years before Civil Rights could be granted and when it comes time to repair the damages by creating Affirmative Action, people want to strike it down. -As a journalism student, I have to agree that Fox's methods of presentation are biased (IE the stock footage that they use in telling a story). They also do seem to play on ethnic/religious tensions to create controversy and strife where it was not found before.
-As far as the editorial voices of the network go, none of the shows strive for or achieve reasoned discourse in their discussion of issues. O'Reilly relies on yelling and irrelevant attacks on the messengers patriotism or their supposed evil intentions in the machinations of George Soros, as does Hannity. Also, they tend to put sheepish or less vitriolic liberals against their conservatives. The liberal side tends to reemble the imaginary team that plays the Harlem Globetrotters to make them look better. The same pattern follows for John Gibson, Cavuto, and the "Cost of Freedom" Saturday economics crew.
-The content tends to be almost entirely soft news, and the "Fox News Alert" is abused to the point of absurdity. More coverage was given this week to the misadventures of the various celebutantes than to the ongoing Gonzalez hearings. A week ago, there was a Fox News Alert alerting us to the fact that there was a coyote near LAX. WHAT! Dogs live in large open areas next to easy food sources, especially in their native habitats?! I came to these opinions without even watching the "liberal elite" media, but simply in the vacuum of Fox News experience. Now as far as disaggreing point of view, well . . . no one agrees with a bigot save another bigot. And there have been multiple movements and Acts in American history to make it clear to all that in a society of equals, the ideology of racial inferiority, for any reason, should not and will not be condoned or tolerated. Intolerance will be met with no tolerance. And to have an national media venue display such ideology and still refer to itself as informative and not entertainment should not be abided.

From my experience, the percentage of black kids who didn't study in high school was much higher than other races, most likely due to the lack of parental guidance. Many of them were pregnant and having kids at the age of 15. Black young men were having babies with multiple women and not raising any of the kids. Unfortunately, many black kids don't have responsible, education oriented parents. I have seen videos of black fathers teaching their small children to be gangsters instead of teaching them to read and write and be a responsible citizen. This type of education will only put more blacks in prison and not in a better society.
If you are still reading this I would like to share a story of mine that may shed some light on my view . I live in Hawaii , its a mixing pot of ethnic cultures from all over the world . Asia , Samoa , Hawaiian , white , black , and of course micro machines .. you folks may not get that one . Anyways I am half jap and white , and have lived through times of racist even 40 years after WWII . I am very tolerant of many cultures and have been all over the world . A couple of months ago I went to China . Now I don't mean hong kong . I mean mainland China 5 hours inland from hong kong . You don't get there with just a passport . Anyways people there are very pushy and cut in front of you in line with just an 1" of space . Now hang in there i am going somewhere with this .. So when these Chinese people come to Hawaii are they still pushy ? No of course not ! Why ? Well they learn and adapt to our culture out of respect and not getting beaten up . So with that being said ... every time I come across a group of black men or women either shopping at Wal mart or at the movies or at a bar . They always talk loud enough to get attention . Now I am not being petty , they swear with kids around , hit on guys girlfriends ( seen it happen in front of me ) and act as they don't care if they are being disrespectful . Let me say stereo types are their for a reason , they don't just appear out of nowhere .

My parents were around during WII , being japanese they were treated like crap and all possessions taken away and sent to concentration camps . I know this will seem very condescending to most but hear me out. I am a white female. Growing up I lived in a predominantly black neighborhood, and attended a similar school. I was the minority in my school. There were approximately 500 students, 10 of which were caucasian, latino, or asian. This school was corrupt with drugs, gangs, underage mothers and other things of a similar nature. When I was transcending into high school my parents divorced and I opted to move with my mother and attend school at a predominantly white school with a 35% minority ratio. The same filth arose from the same groups. That statement may seem rascist but it is the truth. Now I know that we all share a spoon in the bowl of filth but we all know who eats the bigger portion. FOX news is reporting this to let it be known and give us as Americans a chance to do something about it.
It is so typical of people to be offended by the racial slander spoken by people of different color and then they turn around and refer to each other with these terms and refer to them as words of peace and friendship. I feel offended by the term "cracker" no matter who says it. Why should you deem your friends worthy of calling you "nigger" but others are being rascist biggots when they say it? Why do you accuse "the white man" of holding you back? It is your decision to drop out of school, have premarital sex and produce children at a young age. It is your choice to rely on state funded programs to assist your living. I am quite frankly tired of giving my tax money to you in order to help you be lazy. Get off your ass and get a job. Without "the white man" you would be nowhere. Maybe instead of thinking its rascism, maybe you should consider it's a little well earned gratitude.

Most of what I just watched was just saying that if you treat someone a different way because of the color of their skin then that is racism. people just need to understand that doesn't just go for misstreatment if you treat them differently at all it's racism. Beyond ignorance there is the inablilty of "conservatives" to think clearly. You cannot compare the political agenda of a news network with that of a political action organization and be intellectually honest. Of course, if you watch Fox News very much, you would likely suffer significant intellectual impairment.
I don't think there are many liberals who would censor Fox News. There are plenty who would not watch it or want to spend money with a business that supports it? Is that not our right, as much as it is Murdoch's right to telecast such garbage?
There are many liberal media outlets with libreal viewpoints: The Nation, Democracy Now, and Air America are a few. None of them present their views with the thuggish anti-intellectual bluster of Fox, not even close. If the Nazis had a TV network, it would have operated a lot like Fox News.

There were some blacks who had obviously been taught to hate whites just for being white. My sisters school was almost all black. Growing up there, we lived in the part of town that was very near the black communities, and had to walk to school. We made sure not to walk near the black housing project. We were not stupid.
Several black kids of all ages would chase my sister home from school. For no reason. She never fought in her life, and she was so nice. She was ridiculed by the black teacher when my mother complained. Not to say all of the black teachers were that way. One teacher was wonderful. But that does not excuse the other one. I was hit while walking to school only because I was white. So it goes both ways.
But I never hated blacks because of this. I actually always tried to see their side of things.
But as I get older, I am changing. I want to see the black persons side of things, but all I see is that they just won't move on, and won't do anything to make it better. (Some of them-not all). I resent the way that when the history of my town is reported, it is always one-sided. It has been written about in several major newpapers, magazines, and some books. This little town. But it was/is only the blacks who were reported as being mistreated or treated with racism. It is always someone elses fault. You do know, there are two sides to every story.
We were poor, too. So I was not an "elite". I knew what it was like to live in poor conditions. Although I know some of the blacks lived in poorer conditions than we did. And I have come to tire of the "racism" cry. I personally do not think there is that much racism any more. At least not around here. Yet blacks as a whole still will not do what they have to do. Some try. Such as Bill Cosby. And they are chastised by the blacks who don't like what they hear. The black community should look at other races that are successful to see how they coped. Such as the Asians, and I see many good people from the nation of India. They do not have the chip on their shoulder attitude, and are not always crying for equal treatment. They go out and make it anyway. And are respected for it.
Many blacks have a woe is me attitude. And an attitude of blame. Not all blacks. The ones who do not have this attitude are much more successful in life. Some are successful, but are still a huge part of the problem, such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. So there are successful blacks who are still a part of the problem.
Sure, I feel sorry for the children of the those blacks who I feel are not giving their children a bright future, as well as I do for for children of any race that need a better future. But it is up to the black parents and communities to help them. There is only so much we can do. I am not going to bow down and say that I am wrong when I am not. For sins of the past. Even if I did, it would not change anything.
There is one thing that I have never heard mentioned, but I have often thought about. If I am wrong, then correct me. But wasn't it black people who sold the blacks as slaves from the original country? If this is true, then blacks should hate themselves for selling themselves as slaves. And there were good plantation owners, too. Not that that makes it better, but all whites were not bad. Also, maybe blacks should think about what it would be like for them if they still lived in Africa. With the Aids, famines, and slaughters, etc. If they would only see the glas half full.
Another thing, if blacks want to be a part of this country, they should stop saying they are African-American, and getting offended if they are not called by the proper terminology of the day. They should say they are American. They could be an American of African descent, but they need to fully embrace being an American and stop dividing the country. They are a part of this country. That goes for other races,too.
After all of these years, things are even worse. When I lived in that little town, and it fell apart, people believed that as time moved on, the black situation would improve, and race relations would improve. I think they are getting worse. Not racism, but relations. And I do think the typical black culture is bad for America.
Someone once told me that the worst thing that happened to blacks was public housing. At least in some large cities, for sure. Because they tore down their communities and built tall buildings, and took away their sense of community. I do not know, but I think they may be right. I do think that blacks need to stop looking to others to solve their problems. We have tried. It is up to them. They have to pull themselves up, make a decision to quit the whining, and make no more excuses. Just make themselves get over it. For their own sake. And make a decision. If they will not listen, then they cannot be helped. No matter how much Hillary Clinton or John Edwards say they will help. Their kind of help will be to the detriment of America. We do not need more welfare. We need responsible adults. I have heard it said by a black man that that is their culture. That it is just another way of life, the men fathering babies by different mothers, and not raising their children. As though we are wrong for wanting them to change. Well, then quit blaming it on us. Also, quit asking us to support you.
My home town has become one of the most poverty-ridden towns in our state. And in my opinion, it is largely held back by the behavior of many blacks, and many whites (what few are left). I have went to visit, and at a public store, saw cussing in front me, a customer, by the people who work there. As far as they knew, I was a stranger that came to see their little town. And this was obviously normal behavior for the town, since there was no apology or any sign of wrongdoing. In the town I live in now, the person would have been fired for that. But the townspeople are so outside of what is normal now. It was not that way when I grew up. It was a very nice town. What an image the town now displays for outsiders! And every thing is run on grants and public aid, so many young mothers with many children. And panhandlers, and destruction. And then all the townspeople do is complain that they are not treated fairly by others, and they blame their problems on others. They cannot get over the "discrimination". Which I do believe has happened in the past, especially in southern communities. That is what hold them back. It was a wonderful town, full of history, and it has been destroyed. People I know are afraid to drive through town, much less visit. But now, they are doing it to themselves.

To listen to these folks you'd never know black Americans have a strong middle class. There are 2 black American billionaires in this country. There are black CEOs in this country. There are black owned banks in this country. There are black educators, doctors, lawyers, nurses, engineers, IT Professionals, entrepreneurs, etc in this country.
Nope the image that is hammered home about blacks is criminal, crackhead, etc. Rarely is there a positive report about blacks.
Conversely, reports on whites rarely highlight the negatives. We rarely hear about trailer trash on the news. The only time you'd know whites commit crimes in this country is when he kills his wife and kids, shoots up a school, rob a bank basically something so outlandish it can't be hushed up. But that is not reflection on ALL white people. But when a black person does something it is suppose to be a reflection on all black people.
Fox knows this and keeps the fear of black men going. I find it wild that whites would call blacks lazy when it was the whites stealing Africans to do work for them for free. In my mind that not only makes the whites lazy but cheap.

There are a much higher percentage of black people doing these crimes than are whites doing them. Check the statistics. There are many decent black people who do not constantly blame others. They take charge of their own lives, and are wonderful people. I work with some of them, and meet them out about town. The ones that want to overcome, can overcome.
If there are hard feelings coming from the whites toward the blacks, it is coming as a reaction to the way they see so many blacks squandering the opportunities they are given, which are largely provided by the systems and favoritism this government provides, and then still hearing the blacks constantly blame the whites for their place in life, when we know otherwise. The blacks that stand up for their communities without pointing blame, will be successful, because pointless blame solves nothing.
But determination to overcome the root of the problems will. Blacks will only improve their own situation by stopping the hatred. And making the decision that they are responsible for their own future. And stop propogating the hatred. Till that happens, there will always be these problems.
But I am sure I am wasting my time. Some people do not have ears to listen, or a mind that will reason. All they have is a mouth to lay blame with. Until the black people are able to actually LISTEN, they will never hear.

I wish Blacks would wake up and we start making progress in positive directions because I would prefer to be around my people. Yeah you have those few blacks who are kissing you guys asses but I CAN'T DO THAT. I can work with whites, go to school with whites, and be civil with whites, but they will always put you in your place sooner or later to let you know that you aren't one of them! Only Blacks know how it is to black, not asian, not hispanic, not indian, or any other fairer skinned race, ONLY BLACKS! There are so many misunderstandings and faulty perceptions that are deliberately being hammered home to the American populace about black people that are distorted or wrong.
They don't have the same mind. No one person speaks for all black people. I would like to see a picture of a white woman shown whenever affirmative action is discussed on a news cast that would be more truthful.
Secondly, a lot of the people you show that give their opinion are on the station to do just that. On Hannity and Colmes, they don't claim to be neutral news anchors you just present the facts. They each have openly stated their political leanings and they use that to debate on their show. A lot of the other people who make these so called racial comments are guests. They are allowed to say whatever they want and it's not a reflection on the station. Fox brings on guests from all political factions and mindsets.
When you look at the actual news reporting on Fox, it is completely unbiased. And you can't just look at the stories they do, but also the way they speak about people and actions. On most other news stations, it is the words that the anchors choose and the way they go about a story that proves what they're really trying to do.
One last thing. Just because the people on your little clip say "black" instead of "african american" and state facts about blacks that some may find ugly doesn't make them racist. It means that they are willing to look at reality and call people out, even if it is considered politically incorrect.
If Fox is actually as bad as you seem to think it is, then people won't watch it. But since most of the attacks against them are lies, people can see through it. That's why Fox's ratings keep going up. Because people can get whole stories and make up their own mind.
This whole "Blacks are whiners" complaint I read over and over on this board is sad. Not because I hate racism, which I do, but because it is so ignorant. Yes there are some black people that want a handout, but let's be honest there are plenty of white people that want the same thing. It's just not newsworthy to show poor white people complaining. Those people really have no excuse. A white person can fit in easily to a world controlled by rich white people. A black person is visully different making it difficult. I think those who have successfully made it in a sea of adversity are to be commended and those that are struggling in the ghettos, that were created by white America by the way (look it up), should be helped by white America to make this country better.
The days of saying things like, "I've never owned a slave," are over. White America needs to get over this and realize that it does still sting the black community that they weren't invited to be here; they were forced to be here. Even today people are displaying this hatred towards black people. And telling a story about how you were abused by some black guy or some black teacher really breaks my heart, but multiply that by a thousand and you just might touch the surface of a black American's struggles.
Fox news is and always will be the voice of the corporate billionares club and I feel that no one commenting here is a member of that club.

However I just cant see the logic behind airing these stereotypes, do any of you really think that fox is going to solve the problems of American society by reinforcing racial stereotypes? Social interaction is a 2 way street; every time you accuse blacks of being lazy and not fit for work you are contributing to the problem. My great-grandparents came from Germany and when they got here they lived in a tent with 3 kids until they could build their house. My other great-grandparents were also German and moved to Canada. During WWII they were kicked out and sent back to Germany, and eventually came to the US. You can't look at a person now, someone you may think of as priveleged and assume that they come from a continually priveleged background. My grandparents started off dirt poor, but worked hard and were able to provide for their 6 children, who in turn worked harder and could provide an even better life for their children. Success isn't instantaneous and it's not guaranteed, you just have to do what you do best, work hard, and pray for a better future.

I'm tired of people saying that "Black people just need to work hard enough, and that's the reason why they are stuck in the ghetto." The reason people are stuck in the ghetto is because parents can't find jobs that are willing to accept blacks, and since they have no jobs the children can't eat and sometimes the parents do drugs because they were exposed to them IN THE WOMB and cannot physically fight the addiction alone. Then when the children are old enough they try to find ways to feed themselves and the only way to make money at that age is to sell drugs to get food and decent clothes and they end up enjoying the fact that they finally have money in their pockets and continue to do it. I've seen it and experienced some of it in my life and I don't want it to happen to other families. That is why we need SOMEONE -- it doesn't matter whether Democratic OR Republican... just as long as they fight for ALL races to have peace among each other... because I've been hated by all different races because I'm mixed. I'm too white for some blacks and too black for some whites. I'm just stuck dead in the middle. The racism and slander needs to stop because it is just slowing the process of getting closer to a way of life where everybody is happy instead of most people fighting and arguing over which side we're taking and what race we are instead of who is the better fit for the job at hand.
But in many places there has been many black women raped by white men and blacks brutally murdered and reported missing and the judges and police just ignored the reports as if they didn't matter.
But I do understand that racism is everywhere because my white friends and I face racism from African American people in my neighborhood often just because our skin tone is light (remember I am mixed with white too).
And as a final comment I would like to say to the person who asked why more blacks don't go help out in Africa more if they are so concerned about their roots: They don't have the money.
This "articulate" comment is a classic example: he offers a patronizing, backhanded comment that implies that blacks are expected to be inarticulate, and then acts offended when called on his racist, thickheaded manner.
Bill O'Reilly's comment (the previous comment in question) is racist because he does not have the racial experience to make a comment such as "Look, he's articulate." Coming from him, it is demeaning precisely because he is a cracker. It is not a compliment, it's patronizing, and essentially saying, "...for one of you people."
It's as though he said, "Look, isn't Barak cute? That's a good little colored person! Ohhh, isn't he so cute? Look at that little smile on his face? Cootchy-cootchy-coo..."
The reason a black person can make comments and references, such as calling another black person "nigger," while a white person cannot, is that same experience. O'Reilly does not have the experience of growing up in a black household with people who were the children of children of slaves; people who have been beaten by cops; people who have been denied jobs for no reason; people who see whites tighten their grips on their purses and wallets upon seeing them. Context is key. This is why non-Jews cannot tell non-racist jew jokes, and so on. You can say you "went to school with them" all you want, but if you haven't been in that skin, it doesn't count.
For this same reason, O'Reilly does not have the contextual experience to make such overly familiar "compliments," because in light of his history, they come off as patronizing and back-handed, at best.
Along these lines, O'Reilly's speech is tainted before he begins, because he has a long history of involvement with the Republican party, as well as a demonstrated habit of shouting down any guest he does not agree with; and of ridiculing any such person who is not present as "stupid" or "crazy," thereby delegitimizing anything they have said or might say in the future. (This tactic has been widely used by the right wing in general; see the right wing comments above.)
I don't think it an issue of just the "black community" but an issue with every community that exists in this country. As the most powerful minority in America I think that we're also the most visible and therefore everything seems to be just about black and white. Just turn on your television, go to the movies and mostly what do you see in this country - black and white. A public official says the N word and their life is over but if they say the C word or the WB word, it's not treated as seriously.
I think this as well has helped to perpetuate some of the animosity amongst the other races. It’s almost like this country as a whole says that no one else is important. I can almost feel sorry sometimes for Asian people and other minorities in this country who kind of fall to the wayside. Still, for other ethnicities to try to decry and otherwise detract from what has always been and continues to be a very real issue in this country - racism - not just between blacks and whites but amongst all races, is just a showing of their personal ignorance.
Racism is alive and well in America. There's no denying it. I have faced it myself. I have seen it directed at others. I have come across people in the KKK in my life. I have hitch hiked through Sun Down towns as a teenager.
This is America people – where people have the right to think or do or say whatever they want (so long as it is within the law). You don’t have to like it. You don’t have to agree with it. Still, I’d just as soon rather that my news agencies conduct themselves within the bound of truth and impartiality (well as possible with human beings) reporting. If you’re going to report on one point of view, you should give other points of views (yes even those opposed to your own) equal opportunity. Unfortunately, most news reporting agencies are guilty of slanting. It’s your job as an intelligent human being to take it or leave it, to bother to educate yourself about the issue or to swallow hook, line and sinker whatever the first person you see who mentions something says.
The system is flawed and if all you do is spread negativity and complain rather than making some kind of genuine effort to effect change, you are as much a part of the problem as people actively involved in starting the fire. That being said, you many not agree with the people here but at least they have the guts and the drive to try to change something they see as negatively impacting (whether that be the case or not). Instead of coming over here just to shred them and perpetuate racist views, why don't you create a petition intelligently stating your opposing view…. but I guess that would be too much like being left wing for some of you.

News and Journalism should be reporting the facts, reporting information so people can make a decision about the issues.
Fox has created a new breed of reporting, more of the "anti-journalism opinion column". They report the issues, but they also insert opinions about the issues. Therefor biasing you, and influencing you to take on their views, or at least hear them. Its not so much of a NEWS channel by traditional means as it is a megaphone for someone else's views and opinions.
The problem is people still think its news, they dont realize they are being told, or persuaded to believe a certain thing. Its done very cleverly and its harder for you to realize how much of their opinions they insert into their reporting until documentaries and websites demonstrate their tactics.
But, for those who like being a sheep and like the comfort of having their opinions and ideals formed for them by a corporate megaphone, keep resisting these "brave new" ideas and stay in the comfort of your middle-class home sitting on your couch watching Fox News.
Or you could start to question what people tell you, what the all-mighty television tells you, and even what websites like this tell you.

In the late '50's and early '60's, I remember young white people, well-intentioned and college-educated, coming into my neighborhood (in New Jersey) inviting the black family's to meetings at rented halls. They wanted to see what they could do to help the "Negro", I suppose. Well, it did not fair too well, because no one would show up. Why? Because everyone was too busy working and raising their families. You see, my neighborhood was a working class / blue colllar neighborhood. We did have people who were poor, but there were non-government entity's to help them. They were called "neighbor's". Most of the people migrated from the same southern community and settled in the same area. I could trace my family's history back over three hundred years. My great-grandfather was a slave and I hold that as a source of pride considering where my family is today. I , personally, thank God my lineage landed in America and not in Haiti, South America or wherever else slaves landed. Also, the church was the central social / political venue where you could get the news of the day. Opinionated and biased, hard hitting and to the point, no apology and, excuse me, "no spin". Fact: Black people don't like soft pitched, touchy-feely, heart-on-the-sleeve, piss-in-your-pants, back-pedaling bullshit. There's something about living a hard-scraped life that make's you appreciate honesty in life, because you tend to smell lies. Ask people who've survived pogroms of Eastern Europe, death-squads of Central and South America, the genocide of Darfur, Somalia and Cambodia, human right's violations of Tibet and the Middle East, etc., etc., etc.
Most Black leaders are not the one's you see- you know, the usual Sharpton / Jackson cartel and hangers-on. Most are behind the scenes, working in communities, trying to undo the current damage the has taken over 40 years to accumulate. Why do I say "over 40 years" and not 400 (or 500, or 600- pick a number...)? Because I use the 1965 Civil Rights Act as the litmus on how this nation should have entered the modern era of America, not to mention the changing world. Instead we backtracked and became a welfare-state , a new slavery for many, that has eaten individuals and families like a cancer and spewed them out to mental and physical misery. The gap between rich and poor is enormous. Add that to the realization that the population has grown immensely before we could get a grip on our social and economic problems, most industrial jobs are gone, family values and ties are by the wayside, and a decent education and affordable housing is out of reach even for the middle class- we are a nation in turmoil. Bashing people because they are of a different race, religion, political party--- or watch a different network !--- is pretty silly and self-defeating.
I've been a close observer of this nation for over 50 years now and if Fox News is a big deal, I must have concentrated on some petty stuff. I remember Murrow, Conkrite,Huntley & Brinkley, and others and how they presented the topical news of the day. Fox is tabloid. It's easy to trash. If it were a newspaper, (well, the New York Post is close enough), it would line the bottom of the birdcage. Does it take itself seriously? Not the point. Does it get viewers? Yep. Well intentioned but it's more of a teaser. In fact, out of voyeuristic tendencies, I would be inclined to tune into those programs and see what all the hub-bub was about.
Some blacks need to be "put out there", because that's what they are about. They care nothing about their actions and the detrimental effects to a community at large. They only care about themselves. So be it. Let them go if they don't see the errors of their ways. But I don't and won't answer for every black criminal as I can't take credit for the individual success of any human being. Myself, I understand the message's of the black leaders I formerly mentioned. Self-reliance, self-respect and spirituality are at the top. Education, economic maturity (how to open and establish a bank account, for instance)and improving one's community (picking up a broom) are also valuable. I could say I have mine and to hell with everyone else, as many as my peers have. I could also have others, whether right wing conservatives or left-wing liberals, the Democratic or Republican Party, MoveOn.org or Fox News, put me under their thumb and tell me "what I need to know". I choose none, especially when it comes to race issues. The outrage and indignation by well-meaning white liberals may be real, but it is all window dressing. It has always been known that the white liberals who side with "the Black Cause"- or any minority cause, is an attention-getting act. Like the platinum, blue-eyed blonde who finds the most blue-black-skinned male she could find. Compare and contrast. It's a fetish, man. Consequently, white left wing liberals who join the cause are mad at their own. It's a missionary mentality. Some have visions of saving others they perceive as never being able to help themselves. Most in the black leadership understand that the "new Civil War" is still being played out amongst white people. It's not about saving black souls. It's about winning the "red / blue" war, period. But you still need a cause and blacks are easy. Every civil rights struggle looks to the historic black struggle as a model. Leftists are no different. The left has always enlisted black, going back to Paul Robeson. My family had "wobbly" (labor movement) ties in the '30's. It is why blacks seem to be reluctant to join anyone else's cause; and were so vehemently angered when gay's began to align themselves with the struggle of Rosa Parks. True it is historic, but not to be taken lightly. Poor lil' burr-heads-- after all, they're only Negro's. I don't mean to say there are not whites who feel a genuine disgust over what is happening to blacks or race relations in general. Usually they are young, educated, open to change, naive, and have a sense they could make a difference. You have to applaud that. But like a contact high it doesn't last forever. Where are all those young naif's that I knew 40 years ago? Hmmmm...in government, Hollywood, business ? Amongst my friends, whom some happen to be white, there is reasoned and lively debate about all issues, including race. No p.c., no passes, no stifling attitudes or apprehension about what words to say. Just honest dialouge. Hurt feelings? Sometimes. Brawls? At times. Late night, filbusters and talkfest marathons? Mostly, or until we get it straight. Look, either we can talk / argue / shout it out without running away or reigning blows on anyone, or be limp-wristed, p.c. emo-tonics,afraid of saying the wrong thing, so we don't say anything. If you take the former, then Fox News is merely entertainment and doesn't count in your otherwise orderly and mundane life.
I find blacks who are treated condescendingly more offensive. If we can change these sorts of attitude, then everything else is gravy. Not a cure to the many other ills, mind you, but the way others see you goes a long way. Perception is key. Action is a must. Otherwise, for the thousands of blacks who do legitimately succeed through hard work, that success will be, rightly or not, perceived to be gotten only through the largesse of others. Still,for those people, regardless of their affiliation who've always doubted blacks are capable of success via any means except through largesse; or are threatened by their zest to move forward, a bit of latent Schadenfreude reserves as a guilty, unspoken pleasure.

1) The media in general has characterized Blacks and other minorities in a negative light for decades. Fox is not the first, but they are definitely the worst. This is one issue where the "liberal media" allegation is out of place, because the mainstream news networks are guilty as well. But once again, Fox News is the worst.
2) Brave New Films is not a news organization, so accusations of bias are irrelevant. The question is if they have offered valid criticism.
3) I've seen most of this video footage in better context, and I do not find the editing of this video problematic. Their goal was to make the point quickly, and I think they have.
4) Blacks who say exactly what White racists want to hear have existed since the civil rights movement. I cannot say where they come from because I do not know where they came from, I can only say that they have existed, and they still exist. This may be hard to believe, but there are some Blacks who participate in racism against Blacks.
5) There is more! Fox News and its hosts have a long history of doing this sort of thing. Bill O'Reilly said Blacks are better off since slavery back in 2002. Hannity is apparently buddies with white supremacist Hal Turner, who frequently called into Hannity's radio show without being bullied (If this is true, it is hypocritical in light of this "double standard" talk sponsored by Hannity).
I am someone who has pursued a higher education (going to grad school next fall)in political science and has lived in the South almost my entire life (minus the time I spent in Iraq and other "exotic" locals as an infantryman in our imperial army). The very definition of racism precludes blacks in America from being racist. Racism is defined as an ideology held by the MAJORITY that entails discrimination and oppression against a minority that is enforced by most if not all institutions of a society in varying degrees, and is also prevalent in the dominant culture. So let's examine this closely for those who are challenged intellectually.
Yes, some blacks are bigots who despise whites or Asians or Martians or anybody not black. This is unfortunate but an expected and predictable outcome of the racism against blacks in our society that has occurred as pretty much official policy for most of the last 500 years. As a minority within a minority these blacks don't have the power to enforce their bigotry day to day. Therefore...its not racist, period. Racism in America is everywhere, everyday. Its the deputy sheriff in Florida who once told me that next time I should just kill the Black kid I was in a dispute with and he would "handle" the paperwork.

I think that the problems you're identifying are way more complex then you think. You seem to think that a black community can just stand up and get rid of all the drug dealers. Has that ever happened? Yes there are more black people per capital in jail then all the other races. Yes there are allot of black people in ghettos who are addicted to drugs. But this isn't because there black.
Everything happens for a reason. Black people where poor an deprived ever since the founder of the U.S enslaved them and brought them to the states hundreds of years ago. The truth is black people can't build better community's because they never have. It sounds sad when I say it but its the truth. Black people have never had the proper resources, support or proper media coverage in there whole history in the united states to be able to build strong community's. We take money from they're school's, we give them the lowest paying jobs, we accuse them of being the scum of the American civilization, we stereotype them when ever we can. And we expect them to rise and become our view of what is a proper American.
If you try to look at this whole situation with all the truth in you're heart, you'll see that black people have made the largest effort in having a peaceful and harmonious way of life.
They struggled before the civil war, before the great wars and they still struggle today. Yes the black community needs to smarten up. But they won't change if we don't change. They live in a world created by the white man, therefore the white man needs to change to accommodate the black man. We can do it because we have the money, time and resources. I realized that America is connected to the world. Economically and Culturally. So when the American people keep on making stupid ignorant decisions, its affects everyone, not just America.
I think that Americans are going to have to realize that their country isn't free anymore, that their country is controlled by big business tycoons and big banks. If I'm wrong I'll be the first person to admit it. All I ask is for people to inform themselves and be smart and aware. Inform yourself about what I wrote, instead of being so defensive.
