Barbara Boxer saying there wasn't enough National Guards when in fact there was 14,000 standing by but not needed. The democrats need some bad news!!! Whats bad for America is good for Democrats.

Yeah The media is trying to scare you. The 3,000 people who dies on 9/11 was only one act of terrorism. Hundreds of others arrested for planning terrorist plots against America didn't really happen. They aren't trying to hurt us. It's just our imagination. USS Coles, first bombing of the trade center , US Marine barracks , Embassies in Kenya and Tanania , Kobar towers , Nah That was just the media trying to scare us.

Raziorizzo, the only reason any of that is something we have to worry about is because our country sticks its nose in places it doesnt belong. we pick groups and fund them, then they turn on us. WE are the reason these terrorists exist and we arent going to beat them by stripping US citizens of their rights. Raziorizzo - Osama Bin Laden made it very clear why the US was attacked - have you ever bothered to read up on it? Supporting Israel was one of the primary reasons. The people killed in 911 were simply 'collateral damage' - just like the thousands of Iraqis killed in 'war on terror' - except that the US has killed 10 times that number. Trying to insult everyone with comments about high school simply betrays your own ignorance. The US has *no business* trying to police the world. The founding fathers warned against this (read up on James Madison), its not what the 'Republican' party ever stood for, and its morally wrong. Thats why here in 2007, 'Dems rock!

There ARE 14,000 National Guardsmen in California. Most of them are in Iraq. They sent everyone else to the fires. The thing that pisses me off about the conservative dickwads down here in San Diego County is that they are so full of shit. Here they are, pretending that they're fending for themselves and not looking for handouts, when they don't have the brains to pay for a County Fire Department, so half the place burns to the ground. What is this, a third world country? Just look at how disgraceful the losses in S.D. were. Just as many fires were burning in L.A. County (where people actually pay for basic services like policemen and fire fighters) and yet I don't think more than 100 buildings were lost TOTAL. Meanwhile, in "self-sufficient" San Diego, just one fire burns down over 1,500 buildings. Hell, S.D. even needed Mexican firefighters to help out, that's how pathetic it was. The next time one of you right-wing dumbshits says anything about people-of-color freeloading or illegal immigrants or some stupid FOX news talking point, I'm going to stick my foot up your ass so far, my Nikes will come out of your mouth.

I don't think Netmonger's point was that we should have had no response to the 9/11 attack. It was more to point out that there was a reason behind the attack, and that if you look at things from both side, in a lot of ways we haven't been a whole lot better in the way we've gone about things. Though we do have a lot more resources, so we can at least do a little better about getting some military targets along with the "collateral damage."
And as a note to go along with that, not everyone who's politics/life style America disagrees with had something to do with the 9/11 attack. While you may think it is a great thing (and in some cases perhaps it is) to clean house for everyone else, I for one find it far too costly a path to continue. In every possible sense.
You know, sometimes I wonder what goes through the heads of people like you. I have come to the conclusion that there is a high probability you are either in Jr. High school or are just typing this way/writing what you are for shock value. Either way, nice talking at you. Have a great day.

The religious fanatics of Al Qaeda took advantage, just as the Sendero Luminoso did in Peru, etc., etc.
Three thousand dead Americans as horrific as that is pales in comparison to the suffering and death we have wrought. Solving terrorism is easy; our foreign policy needs to change.

They certainly didn't expect the response like the one from President Bush.
