FOX Attacks!: Bill O’Reilly attacks homeless vets… for not watching FOX News

  • Political_Incorrectness · 1 year ago
Bill'O, he's just holding you accountable and he is doing a duty of making sure you are not lying.

Anyway, NBC and New York Daily aren't corrupt, Fox is corrupt you dumb *ss

There is so much wrong with this piece of nonsense from O'Reilly that I couldn't fit it into a comment. Please visit my blog for a detailed smackdown of this tripe.

Bill O’Reilly Can’t Stop Bashing Homeless Veterans
My conclusion: "I wouldn’t put much faith in O’Reilly’s empty promises, though. I hope [the vets] are not waiting for him to show up with blankets and sandwiches and vouchers for shelter. I would rather rely on the incompetence of FEMA than the sanctimony of Bill O’Reilly."
  • Nick · 1 year ago
    Oh. My. God.

This is so stupid, so absurd, so audacious, I don't know if I should scream, cry or hit somthing!

Damnit Bill you have GOT to stop lying! AND YES YOU DO LIE ALL THE BLOODY TIME. Those people are homeless vets there to protest against YOU, you rat, not as part of a "Leftist attack". And there were more than a few of them - they had a file with 17,000 signed protest forms in it!

There is no emoticon for the rage I am feeling!

I'm an aussie and have been watching how you guys are going over there. I must say that after keeping a "close eye" on O'Reilly I have become extremely disturbed with what I have seen. Below is an email I just recently sent to the O'Reilly correspondence email address. You guys aren't alone! I think what you are doing is brilliant. Keep it up!
    _______________

    Dear Mr. O'Reilly,

Allow me to introduce myself. I am a 22 year old Australian male living in the city of Melbourne, Australia. My ancestors are from the UK (as is the majority of our population) and my family has been in this nation for half-a-dozen generations. I grew-up in a semi-rural town with my mother and father (now divorced) and my little sister. I was born and bred a catholic, but now consider myself an agnostic. I am from a traditionally conservative-voting family.

I like to think that I am an informed, balanced, and open-minded individual. I am deeply interested in politics, and enjoyed expressing my opinions and informing people of key issues in our recent federal election at the end of 2007. My guy got in. His name is Kevin Rudd and he is the leader of our Labor Party (considered centre-left), defeating John Howard's Liberal Party (considered centre-right). One of his first tasks as our new head of state will be to withdraw the majority of our troops from Iraq. This is one of the reasons why I voted for him.

Through my growing enthusiasm for political issues that affect me as a world citizen, I have become very interested in the events around the 2008 USA Presidential race. I feel that I deserve to be concerned with who might be elected as President of the United States, not only due to Australia's long-standing relationship with the United States, but also because I am concerned with global harmony and the amount of control America exerts over other nations.

It is through this developing interest that I have discovered many and varied sources for information and news regarding the election.

Out of every source I have discovered (from extreme-right through to extreme-left and everywhere in between) I must say I have found the FOX News coverage, and more specifically your own coverage on The O'Reilly Factor appalling and a disgrace to the profession of journalism. You unapologetically express bias in your reporting and it is clear where your true allegiances lie. You are not a journalist. I honestly feel your show should be preluded with a disclaimer expressing your bias. You seem to have some disturbing tendencies to reveal your racist, homophobic, sexist, and xenophobic personal opinions in your reporting.

Let me make sure you understand, however, that I am not challenging your right to your personal opinions, nor am I challenging your right to express them. But don't you think you should be doing so in a forum that does not hide under the guise of "journalism" or "investigative reporting"? You are employing trickery over your viewers. I do not agree with this.

You are doing yourself, and the wider journalism community, no favours by continuing this false facade of supposed journalistic integrity and objectivity.

We, in Australia, have a saying: "call a spade, a spade" (if you are not sure what this is referring to, I'm sure a quick Google or Wikipedia check will enlighten you, or you might get the idea from what I am about to write)...

You, sir, are the head of propaganda for the Republican Party of the United States. You are not a journalist.

Oh, and just in case you were wondering...

I wait with bated breath in hope of a Barack Obama or Ron Paul victory. These men are true leaders and would serve your nation well. And I think deep down, you would probably admit that too.

I welcome any correspondence you might choose to undertake in reply to this email.

    Regards,

    Adam

do they get the factor under bridges ?

Interesting that O'Reilly had never seen Redacted but he had no problems starting one of his legendary boycotts.

Oh My Gawd, Bill. I just saw this news clip about the 'contrived' homeless vet demonstration/meeting outside FOX studios. Oh my Gawd.
The treatment of these vets by the 'FOX interviewers' in the crowd outside the building were so disrespectful, rude, condecending, to these vets I just could not believe what I was hearing. Didn't these Fox guys have better upbringing than that? What are their mothers and parents thinking of them and their derogatory negative attitudes and approaches?
And you, Bill, were/are so very ignorant and unkind that I am shocked, shocked, shocked.....nice Catholic boys weren't educated to act in this fashion...you demonstrate bad upbringing, low class, bad manners, arrogance, and ignorance.
    You are a failure, Bill.
Help our homeless/damaged vets....they fought for your freedom to say the horrible lies and express your ignorance in public.
Bill, Bill, Bill.....we feel so very sorry for you.

  • Stacey · 1 year ago
I don't think he owes an apology. He wasn't attacking the homeless vets for not watching Fox News, he was defending himself against their accusations... accusations they conjured from word of mouth and misinterpreted information.
  • Matt Fisher · 1 year ago
HOW DARE HE SAY THAT? THIS SUCKS! I'm a Canadian, and I signed the petition demanding that Bill Orally make an apology!

As always, BillO resorts to his trademark name calling in the TPM segment (i.e. "vile", "far left", "smear merchant"), attacks on NBC without mentioning Keith Olbermann, invocations of how Fox News is better than MSNBC because of its ratings and how the competitors are supposedly jealous of and "hate Fox News", and his ambush producer, "Stutterin' Jesse" Watters.

In the TPM dated January 4, when the controversy began, I noticed that BillO referred to this crap claiming that, among other things, 97% of homeless veterans had a colour TV. This crap is some so-called "research" by Robert Rector of the right-wing Heritage Foundation, but BillO never discloses this fact that it was published by a right-wing organization. (Oh yeah, and this whole s**t that homeless veterans don't watch his show, that's because I'm aware that homeless veterans don't have cable.) Will BillO invoke this crap I mentioned earlier? And, furthermore, how can he be in such denial about this when he never served in the military, and got a deferment from serving in Vietnam?

I ask BillO this question: Why are you demanding Edwards apologize for what HE said, while you won't apologize for what YOU said about homeless veterans, and try to justify your hackneyed comments? Also, doesn't BillO realize that Xanadu has since become a cult favourite, and its soundtrack even peaked at #4 on the charts? (Hat tip to Mark from News Corpse; I got my information on this ridiculous "Yakking Notes Memo", as Olbermann calls the segment, from the blog, which I like to read.)

In summary, I say that BillO has gone off the deep end about this crap that homeless veterans are "non-existent".

LOL, I can't believe this website. You lefties try way too hard sometimes.
  • jdogg333 · 1 year ago
Pathetic. Yeah, all of us 'lefties' are so deplorable that we actually care about homeless vets. This man continues to live in a fantasy world where if you repeat a lie over and over it becomes the truth. If repetition doesn't work, just yell that lie and the yelling will magically make true.
  • Raziorizzo · 1 year ago
Does anyone know what bridge John Edwards was talking about when he said he saw 200 homeless people under. 200!! Gimme a break This has gotten totally blown out of proportion. It all started when Edwards wanted to tie homeless to the economy. Believe it or not most poor people here are considered middle class in most European countries.
  • jdogg333 · 1 year ago
So homeless people have no relation to the economy? Please enlighten me on what you think "the economy" is, I'd love to hear it. Are they homeless because they're not Republican? If they are addicted to drugs or mentally ill does that mean they don't deserve help? Please spare me. Instead of facing the fact that THERE REALLY ARE homeless vets O'Reilly spins and uses hyperbole and changes the subject. And how about some fact checking. Oh how silly of me, that's what credible journalists do.
  • Watching the watchmen · 1 year ago
First of all, he's not attacking them "for not watching the Fox News Network," he was saying something obvious: they criticized what he said without watching it. Is this an "attack" on them?

I'm sorry: this site appears to be another hate mongering site that is everything it claims FNC is. It's propaganda for an emotional faction of the left wing who has long since become everything they hate.

O'Reilly may have been wrong to say no servicemen are "sleeping under the bridge," but any objective viewer can see through this site's bravado, as its own videos contradict the sensationalistic headlines they give them.
  • jdogg333 · 1 year ago
Since the removal of the Fairness Doctrine under the Reagan administration, there has been a rise in partisan "journalism" on both sides of the fence. Fox News clearly has taken a side. That's not to say that other networks and cable outlets have not, but anyone who is paying attention can see Fox News bias towards right wing politics. The argument could be made that Fox presents the opinions of the "far left" but that is a weak argument based on the caliber of people representing the "other side." The hiring of Carl Rove speaks volumes as to the partisan nature of FOX.

As to the "unfair" treatment of Bill O'Reilly, I find that nothing other than laughable. This man is no investigative or any other kind of journalist. He's an entertainer of one particular point of view, period. I would further point out that his show does nothing other than perpetuate propaganda for that point of view. To say that this site is hate mongering in light of the behavior that O'Reilly displays is hypocritical to say the least.

Did he include the statements made by the woman that represented these homeless people? No. Did he cherry pick the clips that he showed to make his point? Yes. Does he keep back pedaling and use diversionary tactics to muddy the issue? That is his MO. Please spare us from your "righteous" finger pointing.

Next State of the Union Speech:

My Fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of the Iraq regime has been completed.

Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete.

This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq. This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now time to begin the reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short . The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there.

The other list contains every one not on the first list. Most of the world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war.

THEN EVERY YEAR THERE AFTER IT’ll GO TO OUR SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM SO IT WON’T GO BROKE IN 20 YEARS.

The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hellholes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.

Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France.

In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home. On that note, a word to terrorist organizations: Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth.

Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France or maybe China.

I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France, Germany, and Russia . Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bonne chance, mezamies.

I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York.

A special note to our neighbors: Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change.

Mexico is also on List 2. Its president and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra thousand tanks and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put 'em? Yep, border security.

Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty — starting now.

We are tired of the one-way highway. Immediately, we'll be drilling for oil in Alaska — which will take care of this country's oil needs for decades to come. If you're an environmentalist who opposes this decision, I refer you to List 2 above: pick a country and move there.

It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, "darn tootin’".

Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America It is time to eliminate homelessness in America. To the nations on List 1, a final thought: Thank you guys. We owe you and we won't forget.

To the nations on List 2, a final thought: You might want to learn to speak Arabic.

God bless America. Thank you and good night.

If you can read this, THANK A TEACHER. If you are reading it in English, THANK A SOLDIER.

  • Siro Dracosin · 1 year ago
Hoofhearted...it's bullshit like that that makes the world hate America.

You are obviously confused. Most of the world is giving aid to the U.S. What the U.S. is doing is depending on the rest of the world while at the same time helping it out. The world does not depend on your little conservative hell-hole full of illiterate xenophobic nationalists. You depend on us foreigners as well.

We'll see what you get when Al Qaida gets its wishes and Saudi Arabian oil does not belong to America anymore. I'll tell you what will happen, you'll be sucking off Russia for a bucket of oil.

Grow up, go somewhere outside of Denver or whatever little Midwest redneck village you live in and see the rest of the world, you pathetic little pig. Your own government is sucking out your blood and your freedom, and you do not even notice, always too preoccupied with other countries to notice.

When the Chinese, Indians, or Russians start falling from the sky, run for your life.
  • hoofhearted · 1 year ago
The hell with the other countries. If they need help let them turn to France. We are tired of helping other countries and then have morons like you complain. Let them starve. Cut all ties to other non-grateful nations. And may California get hit by a HUGE earthquake or another wildfire. Just look what they are doing to the Marines in Berkley. Cut of Federal funding for California. Let them fall off the face of the earth. They are a bunch of morons there anyway.

I am not going to speak my whole mind on this as it is a bit well, justice would be served and lets leave it at that.

I think that people like Bill should be in prison for making slanderous remarks, stating things with out first researching it first which seems to be reserved for the left like my self, facts, science, truth and good will to fellow men, this hardly exists on the right at all, on the right you have control of other men and women, works of fiction as news, greed and the power hungry, people have FINALLY woken up to this fact and are voting more for Democrats then ever before in history as polls are showing, we will have a Democratic leader this time and things WILL change and that is why Bill is fighting against this stuff so hard, it will mean the end of Fox News as they are right now.

Keep fighting people, lets get America back on track as a open minded nation open to all people of all walks of life and not the greedy and power hungry like we got running the show now, you can have your religions, you opinions, but when you press them on others, that should be a capital offense as the "others" are not you, have their own brain and have a right to be how they want, they are INDIVIDUALS and we are ONE country for ALL.

    Vote Obama 08'
If you want a country for the people, for you!

My opinion about Hillary is that she is to center and tomorrow could decide to change her label to Republican, no offense to her, just I can't be sure where she stands and thus why I support Obama.

Oh and Bill? Why you think there are so many "attacks" on Fox News? Do you see attacks on any other news network? Maybe there is a reason for it, people want the CRAP that comes out of your, pardon my language, ASS and the network to stop!
Look at the OTHER STATIONS ATTACKING YOU WITH US!

    DIPSHIT!

Don't kid yourself. The reason Fox News is attacked is because it is not incredibly biased towards the Democrats like the other liberal stations would want. The other reason is that Fox News is killing the other stations in ratings, including CNN.

Democrats, "Do as I say, not as I do."

Bill Oreilly is more patriotic and intellectual than all of the mental midgets using this website. He is a true journalist. I think you people are very subversive...
  • Dave-B · 1 year ago
Buck-you sure do have some very low standards to qualify somebody like O'Reilly as an intellectual journalist.Lying and distorting historical facts-yelling and cutting off mikes of guests who disagree with his opinions smack in the face of any kind of journalistic integrity. Some people sure are easy to please.
  • jon · 1 year ago
This is stupid... Are you people just writing to hate on bill or did you lidten to what he said. Look at the people protesting! They don't know what bill said! How can you protest about something when you don't know the facts. Nevermind the reasons. They showed up mad and didn't know why! Alos I've been active duty for over 11 years now. Most probably 80% of the people I saw that left the military wanted to be out no matter what it may bring. A major factor for them leaving (sad as it is) was the abilty to take drugs (primarily pot). Now as for the past generations there must be something done to repay them for what they did for us (Vietnam/Korea) The current generation has had ample opertunities to get their lives in order before getting out(many military programs are in place for this). It's a shame, but pity for them (this generation) is hard for me to muster.
  • Eric · 1 year ago
Bill Oreilly is purely entertainment and he knows that. He is not there to be nice he is there for ratings. The people who watch him the most are the people who dislike him the most and he knows this. Otherwise if he was anything else he would have no job.
  • Daniel · 1 year ago
My God, it's typical Fox-journalism to accuse homeless veterans for not watching Fox closely enough. They are HOMELESS! Homeless people rarely carry around a TV just to watch Fox.

An other great example of Fox' great journalism is when Bill O'Reilly uses a bad movie that Robert Greenwald's made just to make him look bad and stupid.

And of course, everyone who doesn't agree with Bill O'Reilly is a far-left loon.
  • Wes · 1 year ago
Holy crap. Uh, no shit they didn't see it, they're HOMELESS VETERANS. Basic cable is out of the question when you have no place to keep your TV at even if you HAD one.

O'Reilly is carving out a nice little niche for himself in Hell.
